Chapter 1:Revelations

It was cold air, burning his throat and lungs as he panted. Peircing blue eyes stared wildly about the shadowed, run down stone hut, his skin marred with sweat. Gaining the solidnessof reality, he calmed somewhat, though remained to shiver. He hid his crying face against his hand.

“Tormented...ever tormented!” he bared his teeth, small demon-like fangs glistening in the fire light. “Why now do I long so much?! A cure...why is it not a cure I obssess over?! Xelloss....Xelloss. I swear you will pay. I dream...so many dreams...” He bit his hand, worrying a hole in his palm. Bright red blood slowly made its way down his arm and fell to the floor. If not for his heavy panting, he would have heard the lonely pling of the ruby dewdrop upon the cold stone below.

He hissed and shivered violently, the light blanket falling behind him. And even though he huddled next to the fire, he still felt frozen, inside. ‘Look what I’ve become..’ he shook his head and realesed his hand, his lips slightly stained with his blood. ‘I tremble with a want for something I can’t have. A cure dosn’t matter anymore. I can’t go back now, not like this.’

Breathing normally, he lay back and covered himself with his blanket again. he soon turned to his side and gazed hard and hated in to he flames, his narrowed slanted eyes reflecting the flickering light. His eyes hardened. ‘I can do that...oh how you will suffer!’ he grinned in evil intentions. ‘I have suffered long enough, Xelloss. It’s about time I finally get what I want. I’m coming for you, Priest, and I’m leaving....with your life.’

** ** ** ** **

Xelloss awoke with a start, sitting up quickly upon his futon and grabbed the blanket in his hand. He looked about quickly, his shoulder length deep violet hair swaying about him softly. Xelloss breathed heavily, closing his eyes to calm himself. ‘It must have been a dream...’

Passing a hand over his face, he lay down again and stared up at the ceiling. His body tingled and he sighed. Turning his head a bit, Xelloss smiled. He reached out a hand to brush his fingers againt soft brown hair. He then chuckled to himself as his mate swatted at his hand in sleep.

Jaynis made a small annoyed sound before opening her eyes, the silver of them glowing brightly before dimming, though they still shone like glow stones in the dark. She looked at Xelloss in question, small starnds of hair tinted silver falling against her pale face.

Xelloss smiled and kissed her softly. “I had a bad dream...I need my teddy bear to keep them away.”

“Xelloss, it is not even half night, and youare up playing games?” Jaynis turned to her other side and closed her eyes. “Please, Xelloss, try and get some sleep.”

Xelloss snuggled behind her, resting his head upon her bare shoulder. “Aww...but I can’t sleep! I need my teddy bear to keep the bad dreams away!” He placed a mock pout.

“Oh you!” Jaynis giggled and turned to her back. She hugged him tightlyand smoothed his hair as he rested himself at his side. He wrapped his arms about her waist and held her close. Jaynis giggled again as Xelloss nuzzled his cheek softly against her arm. “You act as one of the children.”

Xelloss grined and opened his percing purple eyes to look deeply into hers. He moved closer, alomst close enough to kiss.... “Mama!”

She laughed. She tried to push him away as well, but he held on and tickled her lightly. “Ah! Stop it! I take it back! You are worse then the children!”

“That’s better.” Xelloss grined. “You know, I’m not tired anymore...but I am hungry.”

She shook her head then looked up at him and smiled. “Let me up and I will get you something to eat.”

Jaynis blinked. Xelloss didn’t let her up, rather he held her firm against the futon and gazed down at her through half closed eyes. “Xelloss.....?”

“I hunger for something else......**Essence**” Xelloss grined and lowered himself closer to her. He touched his lips to hers, breathing softly. He felt her touch his arms, then move her hands slowly to his back. Xelloss kissed her deeply.

Jaynis breathed deep when Xelloss moved to kiss her shoulder. She felt the warmth of him through her night shirt, moving slowly. She nuzzled her cheek softly against his neck, closing her eyes and held him tightly. **Samael....**

**Shh, my love.** Xelloss heard her wimper lightly as he passed his hand over her stomach. **We need no words...let your actions speak for you..**
Jaynis moaned.

“Now, for the final incantaion.” He held his open glove covered palms to the fire, his eyes closing tightly. Mumbling softly, he chanted words needed to complete the spell.

The fire raged hot, as it has been for two hours. He had wasted no time in getting the components her needed to cast. He wanted what he desired...he wanted Xelloss to suffer. And he knew how.

“ANNUL REVERSAL!”

The fire exploded and surrounded him. The heat did not scorch and did not burn him. It entered him, a small amount, and he laughed wickedly. His eyes opened, bright blood red instaed of icy blue. Hi slaugh echoed in the woods surrounding his pathetic ston hut. Soon, he made his demand and the fire left for the sky as an orange/red glimmering stream and flew to the east. He watched it, grinning. He felt victory in his hands and clutched them at his sides. One of his eyes returned to its normal coloer when he calmed, yet, the eye that was always covered smoldered in the blood glow. He chuckled.

“I’ll make my dreams a reality. For now on, I shall take what I want....” He turned his eyes to glare upon the single moon. “You who is called Mother Moon! The luck you have bestowed upon Xelloss has run out! Mark me, Zelgadiss Greywords, will get my revenge!”
