As you walk further into the pub, your eye follows the room as it opens up, and is drawn to the large standing area in front of the bar counter. Display lighting set to various levels highlight different areas, the bar being an obvious example.

Looking back towards the main doorway, well-directed lighting in the stairway emphasises the security of the thick stone walls and heavy doorway. This is designed to contrast with the warmth of the interior; compelling drinkers to stay.
