Kabuki Performances
Soon I will be putting up pages where you can go and view information on upcoming Kabuki performances. Most of these are held at Kabuki Theatres like Kabuki-za, The National Theatre in Tokyo and the Minami-za in Kyoto.

June 2001:

The Chikamatsu-za's performance in June is over. Please read my report here.

By the way, Ganjiro has been confirmed to be on the honourary list to have his name changed to SAKATA Toujuro. This event will take place in 2005.

July 2001:

Good news for Kabuki fans in Tokyo! Summer is Kabuki time! Itikawa Ennosuke wil be putting up a few performances: Shunkan ½Ó´², Renjishi  Ï¢»â»Ò, etc. at the National Theatre, Onoe Kikugoro and his son, Kikunosuke, will be putting up performances like Ninjyoubanashibun Shichimottoi ¿Í¾ðȸʸ¼·¸µ·ë, in which Itikawa Somegoro and his sister, Matsu Takako, acted in, and it paved the way for Matsu Takako's acting. Bando Tamasaburo, one of Japan's famous onnagatas, will also be performing Yuki Àãand a host of other shows. Nakamura Kankuro will be performing as well, and in August, will collaborate with good friend and famous playwright who lived in London, Noda Hideki ÌîÅĽ¨¼ù (dating a famous actress in one of his productions!). The August performance will be premiered at Kabuki-za, so iti s a new kabuki work! :)
