Noh -- Kyogen         ????

Kyogen is a comic excerpt in between two Noh plays. Usually the Noh programmes last about 5 plays long...so you need abit of variety ("like wine and food,"..to quote from Mr. Nomura Mansai).

Well, the introduction to Kyogen conducted at the Japanese Embassy in London was very interesting. I would have thought Mr. Nomura was an elderly man (this comes from getting confused reading the Kyogen book!) and woah, he was YOUNG! I mean about 34 years old, MARRIED (I soon found out! ;)) and very talented. He could laugh and cry like a switch (as he said) and he always wore a cheeky grin, pretty self-confident at times. He left a very strong impression on me, and I think I will like Kyogen for a long time.........

Mr. Nomura Mansai is also quite famous in this performance as well...I think he performed this with laser in Sapporo this year...
