The second-in-command of the Macross battlefortress. She is tall, with plain
brown hair that tends to fall into her eyes and comes down to her shoulders.
Her main outfits are white commander's uniforms that have two versions: a skirt
for the bridge, and a pantsuit for the field. In the beginning of the movie, she
detests Hikaru for his indifference to her orders, but when she is stuck on a
demolished Earth with a Valkyrie which only Hikaru can fly, she softens
towards him. Hayase is a person that excudes an air of confidence in times of
peace, but when disaster strikes, she falls apart.
