Here we go! This is great - Sega did well. You have only a few missions, but they are big - approx. a half hour to finish a level - when you beat a level and go back - it resets and changes the routes you can take - cool huh???
GRAPHICS: 9
They bugged me a bit at first - there are some problems with their faces in the practice mode - but in the second level it really picks up as far as look - this game really is good looking for Saturn's capabilities.
SOUND: 9
The sound is great - plenty of speech - music is catchy - even if it isn't your general preferance - you still end up humming it... It also comes with a music CD.
GAMEPLAY: 10
Some may disagree here - as far as viewpoint and movement - well view is much like Tomb Raider - so if you hate this - you must hate TR's view options as well??? hitting your R and L buttons switch your view quikly - holding "Y" and the control pad lets you look around more seriously. There is the "Auto Jump" when you get close to an edge - not too bad to deal with though. It controls really well with the 3D control pad - and the practice area before the game is really helpful - no real need for Japanese knowledge here. The concept is great - saving people - blasting at raging fires and berzerk droids - you get a tension and also a sense of accomplishment for saving people. Breath of fresh air from all of the Blast everything - then blast some more - senseless destruction seen in many games today - which is alright, but this does offer a nice break from it.
On the disk you get bitmaps and wavefiles of the voiceactors saying certain lines - playing their part I guess. The music CD also makes this a great buy - options open when you beat the game - I'm not sure what they are yet - I haven't beaten it yet. The animation in the beginning is cool; it runs pretty smooth.
OVERALL: 9.5
I love it! This game is a must. I hope they make a sequel for the next system because it really does need more power behind it so that it can do more 3D and the sequel can really make people go "WOW!!!"
