Struggling College student Yūsaku Godai has fallen madly in love with Kyōko Otonashi, the young widow who has taken over as the new manager of the boarding house where he lives. But Kyōko is not yet ready to let go of her late husband, and the meddling loons who also live in that boarding house are no help at all. Then romantic rivals appear. Shun Mitaka, the handsome and well-to-do tennis instructor, develops a romantic interest in Kyōko, while Yūsaku stumbles into a relationship with the sweet and very cute, Kozue Nanao. Shun is a far better match for Kyōko then Yūsaku and Kozue is a far better match for Yūsaku then Kyōko, but............
