Ah! My Goddess' name was changed when it came to the US when the author was told about the english expression "Oh My God!" to Oh, My Goddess! This is a very delightful and wonderful anime for just about anyone. There's not any violence (unless you count Skuld hitting the 'bugs' with her hammer. Like most anime, it has a complete, and well thought out story that explains everything in the end, but not till then! I really think this is one of the best animes out there. It is short compared to many other stories (Ranma 1/2, Lodass War, etc) being only 5 half-hour episodes long.

Intresting Tidbits: The three goddesses in this series (Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld) are based on the Goddesses of Fate from Nordic Mythology. Verthande, Urthr (Urd), and Skuld respectivlly. Since the Japanese language doesn't have any Ve or Th sounds Verthandi became Berudandi which became Belldandy when translated to English. Each Goddess has their own domain in time: Belldandy is present, Urd is past, and Skuld is future. You'll notice Skuld's affinity for ice cream in the later episodes, this is explained in the manga (comics) that at one point the goddess' power source in the heavens became cut off from them due to the bugs. At that time, Skuld latched onto ice cream as an alternate power source.
As far as I know, the 5 OAV tapes are the only animation of the manga series. If you know diffrently, e-mail me at kyra-chan@oocities.com Thanx!
