At Maiden's Peak

After countless wins and losses, Ben finally got past the many trainers that had littered the area. Now, where was he? Ben saw a nearby sign: Maiden's Peak. It immediately clicked. This was the site of Maiden's Rock, which Ash Ketchum says is haunted by some special Gastly. Ben decided to skip the warnings of that fool and check it out himself.

A boring walk and a small rainfall later, Cajava reached Maiden's Rock. "I really need an umbrella," she thought. "Ditto?" asked Blob.

"Oh alright, here you go." Cajava reached in her pocket and pulled out a mini checkers game and gave it to Blob, who set it up and starting playing against Seymour. Cajava sighed. "Talk about your obsessions."

"And just what are you doing here, young lady?" an old voice asked. Cajava looked around and saw an old lady.

"I want to find the Gastly that's haunting Maiden's Peak, do you mind?" What Cajava didn't know was she was talking to said Gastly.

"It's not here anymore, so leave this place."

Curious, Cajava remembered how Ash had said an old lady was one of the Gastly's forms. She took out her Pokédex and scanned.

"Pokémon entry found. Gastly, the Ghost Pokémon. This species is usually invisible to the naked eye. It's specialty is Hypnosis."

"You are a liar. Show your real form, Gastly."

The old lady twitched then switched back to the Gastly. "Fine, you have finished what you came here for, now leave."

"Not without a souvenier! Blob, Transform!" Blob sighed, then grimaced when Seymour jumped his last checker. Annoyed, Blob grudgingly changed into a Gastly.

"Hmmph! Pokémon Trainers are such nusiances! Take this!" The Gastly immediately transformed into a Pidgeotto. Blob screeched and fled to it's Pokéball. "What the heck? Blob, why are you scared of a Gastly?"

"I can answer that. My Hypnosis works on other Pokémon. Your Ditto changed into a Gastly, so it aquired the fears as well. And if there's one thing I hate, it's birds!"

"Grrr, Seymour, Headbutt!" Seymour leaped into the air, its point ready. he reached the Gastly, went right through and got stuck on the railing.

Cajava sweatdropped. "I forgot those attacks don't effect ghosts. Seymour, return!" Cajava took out a Pokéball and tossed it. The ball flew right through the ghost, landed on a flying Pidgey and caught it. Cajava facefaulted.

"Ha ha ha! You're the funniest trainer I've encountered! Too bad the sun is almost up. I had much fun, but I must go." The Gastly disappeared, leaving Cajava to fuss over a name for her new Pidgey.
