Sailor Moon episode 53

Episode title: Treed

"Gotta warn you guys, I don't know what we're up against!" Warned Mars. The Sailor Scouts began their odyssey.

Inside the building, which was made up of a pipeline of overgrown roots, the Sailor Scouts were swiftly making their way to the top of the building. Suddenly, Mars sensed danger, and small pods opened up, and began to spurt liquid at the Sailor Scouts, including Luna and Artemis. They moved to dodge, and the roots closed around the Scouts.

"That's why the Doom Tree led us in here!" Sailor Jupiter said.

"Still, I know my vision was right!" Said Sailor Mars. There was another spray, and they moved to dodge it. They dodged spray after spray, and one finally caught Luna in the arm.

"MERCURY ICE BUBBLES FREEZE!!!!"

The pods were frozen in Sailor Mercury's fog, and they fell to the floor.

"Oh, Luna, can you hear me?" Said Sailor Venus, cradling the injured feline. Mercury inspected it, and it looked pretty bad.

"It's fast." Luna said. "Faster than me!"

"Poor girl." Said Artemis. Luna winked, and smiled in reassurance.

"Don't worry. I'll be okay once I catch my breath."

Without warning, the Doom Tree moved its roots, but not to let the Sailor Scouts pass through. Instead, the roots came towards the Sailor Scouts with a vengeance. The Sailor Scouts began to escape.

"MARS FIRE IGNITE!!!!"

A stream of fire blasted a hole in a nearby wall, and the Sailor Scouts, pursued by the sharp, deadly roots of the Doom Tree. The Sailor Scouts ran into an elevator, and tried to close the doors. Sailor Mercury pounded the button to close the doors, but to no avail. The roots came closer and an incredibly fast speed, and Luna saw a way out. Jupiter looked up, and saw a door in the ceiling of the elevator. The Sailor Scouts began to climb out of the elevator, and the roots slammed into the elevator.

The Doom Tree was obviously angry. Its roots were curled like snakes, and two of them had a hold of Serena and Darien. They began to reach for each other. Their hands got closer together, and just as they were about to touch, Alan came in and kicked them apart.

"Keep your crummy hands away from her, you hear me?" Alan warned.

"You've got no right to talk to Darien like that!" Anne said.

"So, you finally admit you like the guy!" Alan snapped jealously.

"Well what'd you expect, when you're drooling all over her?" Anne snapped back. "All that stuff about me being your one and only, all lies!" She began to power up her body. Alan mocked, saying that Anne was being a drama queen.

"I am not being a drama queen!" Anne screamed. She told the Doom Tree to take Serena's energy, and Alan started to tell the Doom Tree to take Darien's energy. First, the Doom Tree responded by taking the energy of both Darien and Serena. Alan and Anne tried to get the tree to release them. Then, the Doom Tree responded by blasting Alan and Anne with a nova wave, and releasing Serena and Darien, leaving them to fall to their deaths. Alan and Anne teleported, catching their respective person, and lowering them carefully to the ground. They tended to the people, and suddenly,

"Let them go, Nega-trash!"

The Sailor Scouts, with Luna and Artemis, appeared.

"Yeah, you!" Sailor Mars shouted. Jupiter said,

"We want our friends back!"

"And that means now, hairballs!" Challenged Mercury. Anne began the fight by firing a stream of pure energy. She barely missed. Alan attacked, and almost hit Sailors Venus and Mercury, and Luna. Mars retaliated.

"MARS FIREBIRD STRIKE!!!!"

The bird of flames streaked towards Alan and Anne, but at the last second, a protective shield stopped the bird, and it dispersed. The Mars Firebird was finished. Sailor Mercury, Jupiter, and Venus each charged up their attacks, and Alan and Anne laughed, saying,

"You're on our turf now, Sailor Failures!"

They each sent out a blast of energy, and succeeded in blasting the Sailor Scouts. First, was Sailor Mars. The blast from the energy, combined with the simultaneous spark of every pain receptor in her cause her body to wrench, lifting her off the ground. Next, was Sailor Jupiter, with much the same effect. Alan and Anne laughed with glee. Next were Sailors Venus and Mercury, then Luna and Artemis. Serena, who had been weak from the Doom Tree's draining process, got extremely angry, and stood up.

"MOON CRYSTAL POWER!!!"

Sailor Moon appeared, and Alan and Anne were in shock.

"No way!" Alan exclaimed. "She can't be Sailor Moon!"

"That little blond air-head?" Alan exclaimed. "No wonder she's such a klutz!"

"So, you think I'm a klutz!" Sailor Moon said. "Well, this klutz is teaching you a lesson! I stand by my friends, and furballs!" Luna and Artemis laid there on the ground. "In the name of the Moon, I will punish you! Surrender, you slimy viruses, or you're Moondusted!"

Anne got ready to blast Sailor Moon, but Alan stopped her.

"Hold on, Anne." He said. Anne said,

"Why? Cause you have a crush on her? Are you getting all soft and mushy on me Alan?" Anne saw something that would hurt Alan in the worst way. "That ditz is the leader of the Sailor Brats!" She pointed out. "And, the only way to get rid of them is to get rid of her!" Alan stopped. Anne said that if he didn't want to do it, she could find someone else to help feed the Doom Tree. Meanwhile, Sailor Moon was tending to Darien, who was still on the ground. He put his hand in Sailor Moon's, and Anne was taken aback. Alan quipped,

"Looks like your boy-toy isn't going to be too interested in hanging around with you!" Anne was angry.

"That bimbo!" She hissed. "It's her fault! She's poisoned his mind against me!"

"Forget him, Anne." Alan said. "The guy's a human, and they're only good for one thing: Doom Tree fertilizer!" Anne was in complete shock. She wouldn't stand for this. She blasted Sailor Moon, sending her and Darien flying. Sailor Moon held on.

"Look at that clingy little wimp!" Anne said. "Let go of him!"

"She won't." Said Alan. "If it's one thing I've learned, it's that she's a true friend. She's loyal, and she's strong. She'll never desert him, even if it means her own downfall." Alan then told the Doom Tree to take the energy of both Sailor Moon and Darien, and the Sailor Scouts tried to intervene. They were blasted back to the floor.

"MOON SCEPTER..."

Anne blasted Sailor Moon as she was powering up her attack. She was sent flying back, all the way to Darien, who came to. Sailor Moon tended to him again.

"Meatball Head?" He said weakly. Sailor Moon smiled. She asked him if he remembered the Moon Princess, and Darien said,

"Yes, my sweet."

""I'll be there for you, as you were for me." Sailor Moon said. "I'll fight to protect our kingdom."

Anne blasted Sailor Moon and Darien. She blasted them again, and again, and again. Finally, Sailor Moon got up, and as Anne sent out another wave of energy, Sailor Moon withstood it, and remained standing.

"She's brave!" Alan said. "Even braver than I thought!"

"You don't know what bravery is!" Sailor Moon screamed. "Or friendship! All you know is evil!"

Alan realized Sailor Moon's words for the first time. Anne retorted,

"So glad you finally noticed!" She blasted Sailor Moon again, and the young girl withstood the blast. "Renounce your feelings for Darien, and I might spare you!" She said. Sailor Moon said,

"I never renounce my feelings! True love can't be taken away by anyone!" Darien was shocked, and learned for the first time that Anne cared for him. Again, Alan realized Sailor Moon's words. Anne called Sailor Moon a sentimental fool, and blasted. Darien got in the way, and Alan called out to Sailor Moon. Darien and Sailor Moon were blasted backwards into one of the Doom Tree's huge roots. Anne blasted again, but Darien blocked it. Anne blasted again, causing Darien's body to stop. Darien fell limp into Sailor Moon's arms. Alan looked on with remorse.

"I've never seen anyone look so sad." He said to himself. He looked to Anne. "Maybe this is wrong." Anne asked Alan what was wrong. "Can't you see how they love each other?" He said. "Even if she is our enemy."

"You're just weak, Alan!" Anne said.

"No, you're the one who's weak!" Sailor Jupiter said. "You don't have any real friends, and the only emotions you know are hatred and vengeance and jealousy!" Anne was about to blast the Sailor Scouts again, but something flew towards them, and Alan got Anne out of the way. The thing was a small white rose. Appearing there was the Moonlight Knight.

"It's a bad scene, Sailor Scouts, but nothing we can't handle!" He said. "These misfits can be beat!"

"Misfits?!" Snapped Anne. "You have no idea who you're talking to, Turban Boy! Listen! Takes more than some stupid little rose to beat the powers of the Negaverse! I'll show you what this misfit can do!"

"Your jealousy's blinding you, Anne!" Moonlight Knight said. "You just can't bear that Darien's dumped you!" Anne powered up her body again, and blasted the Moonlight Knight. The Moonlight Knight hit the trunk of the Doom Tree, and disappeared. Then, the Doom Tree began to move. It lifted its roots, sending Sailor Moon and Darien flying. The roots curled upwards like snakes. Three of the roots, each with pointed ends streaked through the air. They moved to impale Alan and Anne, but missed. One of the roots swung itself, and hit Alan, sending him to the ground. A root moved to kill him, but Anne got in the way, and was impaled instead. She fell, and Alan was at her side in an instant.

"Please tell me it's not like they say..." She said.

"Like what?" Alan asked.

"You're my friend." Anne replied. "You're the one true friend I've ever had. Just promise. Promise me you won't forget..."

"Anne, don't talk like this!" Alan said.

"This life is over for me, dearest." Anne said. "I never understood what love was, but now I know, Alan. You're the one I ever truly loved!"

"ANNE, DON'T LEAVE ME!!!!!!!!!!!" Alan screamed as Anne's body fell lifeless. Another of the Doom Tree's roots began to move towards Alan, and he stood ready to accept his fate. The root stopped only because Sailor Moon shouted,

"Stop! Save them!"

"You think so, Sailor Moon?" A voice rang out. It was the Doom Tree. In a flash of light, everyone was gone, and only space remained.

"Where are we?" Asked Sailor Moon. Alan replied,

"I think we're in the mind of the tree."

"That's right, my children." The Doom Tree said. "I have brought you here to tell you my story. Long ago, there was only me and the ocean. I lived alone for eons and eons, with not a soul to talk to. But then, I decided to change all that."

"I remember!" Alan said in recollection. "We were born from the Doom Tree!"

"Back then," the Doom Tree said, "I wasn't known as the Doom Tree. I was called the Tree of Life. It was a happy time filled with joy and peace. We all knew only harmony, and as I grew, so did my children. But then, evil forces managed to turn some of them against me, and they began to fight for my energy. I tried talking to them, but they only obeyed the dark forces, telling them that power was the most important thing. Soon, all that existed now was anger and hatred. I believed my patience would reward me, and that we would all find peace and harmony once more. But, it was not to be. The evil became so great, they destroyed themselves, and our world. Luckily, I was still strong enough to escape, and I took my few remaining followers with me in search of lights. We tried many planets, but none had what we needed to sustain life. Soon, only you and Anne were left with me; poor little children, who had never known real love, only hatred and the battle for power. I wanted to teach you, but by then, I was too weak to speak anymore."

"And they steal energy to try to save you?" Asked Sailor Moon.

"Yes," replied the Doom Tree, "but to grow, I need love. Positive energy."

"We failed." Said Alan. Everyone was back on the building, Alan holding the dead Anne. He hung his head.

"No Alan, you were failed." The Doom Tree said. "No one should grow up without experiencing love and friendship as you did. You behaved as anyone would, given these circumstances. But luckily, people learn, and you two have discovered what's most important: Love! Now, I know that I won't have lived in vain!"

"Love!" Called Alan. The Doom Tree turned its attention to Sailor Moon. It asked her to heal it, and purify its body of all the evil that was inside it. Sailor Moon obliged.

"MOON SCEPTER ELIMINATION!!!!"

In a brilliant flash of light, the Doom Tree was gone.

"I killed it!" Sailor Moon exclaimed.

"No, Sailor Moon. You healed it." It was the Moonlight Knight. Sailor Moon saw him. Moonlight Knight said, "Sailor Moon, Serena, Moon Princess."

"You know all that?" Asked Sailor Moon.

"Yes. Now, it's time you learned who I am." He removed his mask. The face was the one Sailor Moon had suspected all along. It was Darien. He explained,

"After the battle with Beryl, Darien lost all his memories, yet some part of him knew he had to protect the Moon Princess."

As a result, the Moonlight Knight was created. However, Darien was not strong enough to sustain him. He bid farewell to Sailor Moon, then moved to Darien, who was unconscious. He merged with Darien, and the next thing Sailor Moon knew, Darien was trying to awaken her.

"Is that really you?" Sailor Moon asked.

"It sure is!" Darien said. "And it sure is good to be back, Meatball Head!"

Sailor Moon cried with joy, and hugged Darien hard. Then, they noticed Alan and Anne. Anne's body was glowing, and her eyes opened.

"Anne!" Alan exclaimed. "You came back!"

"I would never leave you." Anne said weakly. Sailor Moon saw a sparkle, and it was a small bubble. In the bubble, was a seedling, planted in a cloud. Alan and Anne were ecstatic. They had another chance. They vowed to bring it to a planet where only harmony could exist. They created their own bubble, and hovered high above the tattered apartment building. They thanked Sailor Moon, and flew off into the Heavens. Sailor Moon and Darien watched. When Sailor Moon asked what was going to happen between her and Darien, the rest of the girls appeared out of nowhere.

"Hey, what about you two?"

"Alright, give us the buzz! Are you guys an item, or what?"

"Inquiring minds want to know!"
