Sailor Moon episode 17

"Tough life!"

Two girls were walking down the street. One had shoulder length hair, that was brown, and the other had short black messy hair, and wore glasses. The girl with the messy hair said that she wasn't looking forward to meeting with their boss, Mr. Masterson. Her friend asked her if she had finished, and she had, but she didn't feel like having her work picked apart. The girl with the messy hair spoke with a southern accent. She daydreamed the meeting, and in it, Mr. Masterson was getting on her case for making Sailor V's leg too wide, and her hair was supposed to be messy after a fight scene. She came back to reality, and said that they were lucky to be working on such a movie, but it was hard. Her friend, calling her Laurie, told her not to quit, and to wait until the movie was finished.

"Oh, ah won't" said Laurie, "I wanna see mah name in the credits!"

[ed. Please don't laugh at that.]

Suddenly, Laurie's friend began to race her to the studio, and Laurie wasn't ready. She began to run after her friend, and passed Amy at a bookstore. Amy saw the girl in front of her drop something, and tried to tell the girl that she had dropped it. Amy read it, and saw that she went to the animation school.

Nephlite was in his chambers. He loved the darkness. He loved the silence. Right now, he needed it to find the victim of his wrath. The stars looked for a person. They found a young animator.

That night, Amy was walking home, when a car sped by her. She had a strange feeling, and saw the person inside.

"That's Nephlite!"

Laurie was working late.

"So ah finally get the hair thing right, then ah mess up on the stupid bow!"

She was getting discouraged. She wondered,

"Ah wonder how Cass is doing."

She looked in her friend's envelope, and in it were incredible animation cells solely for the purpose of Sailor V. Laurie said to herself that if she didn't finish, she would be kicked out of class.

"Desperate times call for desperate measures."

She reached into her desk drawer, and pulled out a small pencil case. They were special pencils that Laurie and Cass had bought while still in High School, and they had promised each other that they would never use them without the other's permission. Laurie opened the small case. Inside, was only the stub of her last pencil. She was beginning to talk about what she would do once the movie was over, and she was interrupted by a man. He said that the door was open, and he let himself in. His name was Maxfield Stanton. He said that he heard that Laurie was one of the school's top animators. He wondered if the tiny sub was all she had to work with, and he picked it up. Laurie was afraid he might break it. Using his powers as Nephlite, the pencil was endowed with negative energy.

Maxfield came out, only to meet a challenger. The challenger called him Nephlite. It was Sailor Mercury. Nephlite leapt towards Sailor Mercury, who was standing on his car, and knocked her off. He told Sailor Mercury that he didn't know who was more pathetic; The wimpy Sailor Moon, or the Sailor Scouts. He drove off, and Sailor Mercury vowed to get him the next time.

Inside the studio, Cass brought dinner for Laurie. She didn't want any. Amy came in, and returned the animation cells that Laurie dropped. Laurie just went into a room, and closed the door. Cass apologized, and said that Laurie was nervous about failing the class. She said that they were working on the Sailor V movie, and it was getting to her. Amy suspected the Nephlite was.

At school, during lunch, Luna said that they were going to go check the animation school. She told Amy that she shouldn't have challenged Nephlite on her own, and she agreed. Serena was angry at him for calling her wimpy. Serena said that she was going to blast him, and Luna said,

"This from the girl who cries during pillow fights!"

Amy told Serena that it was at the school of Animation, and Serena was excited. She wanted to see Sailor V and get her autograph.

At the animation school, Laurie put an inordinately huge stack of animation cells on a shelf. Cass saw it, and asked if she had done all that last night, and Laurie said that Mr. Masterson had the other half. Laurie went back into the room, and told Cass that she didn't want to be bothered by anyone, including her. Cass was worried for her friend. Laurie thought to herself that with her pencil, she could blow Cass out of the competition. She began drawing, and the pencil grew.

Raye was talking to Serena on the communicator, while on the roof of her school. She agreed to go to the animation school.

"But this isn't some bogus scheme so you can see the studio, and then meet Sailor V?"

"No," Serena replied, "and is obnoxious your middle name?"

At Crossroads Jr. High, Serena and Amy walked out. Serena had bombed on a test. They met with Raye, who was already changed into some casual wear. She asked why they didn't call her on the communicator to tell her they were going to be late, and they said that Miss Haruna's yelling would've drowned them out. Amy asked Raye if she had gone home and changed, and Raye said that her uniform was in the bag. Luna said,

"Yes, and I'm a purple cockatoo."

Suddenly, Raye's bag ripped on the bottom, and a bunch of small boards fell out.

"Oh no, my autograph cards!" Raye exclaimed.

"I mean, the kids from school's autograph cards!"

Nephlite was sitting at a table, drinking. Zoicite appeared, and remarked that Nephlite was hard at work. Nephlite said that he was, and Zoicite asked if his plan was to poison Sailor Moon with lemonade.

"You've been studying human sarcasm, I see." Nephlite said.

Zoicite said that Queen Beryl had sensed major activity in the Gemini sector, which was the location of the Gemini constellation, and wanted to know if Nephlite knew what he was doing.

At the animation school, Serena and Raye were bothering one of the animators. Amy was talking to Cass. Amy asked if anything strange had happened, and Cass said no. Laurie came out of her room, and yelled at Serena and Raye to be quiet. Cass and Laurie argued, and a call came in. It was for Laurie. Mr. Masterson had seen her latest work, and wanted her for the sequel. Laurie said that there would be no sequel, because evil was going to win. Laurie said that she was going to create a series glorifying evil. Cass said to Laurie that she needed some rest. Laurie said that she was choosing the winning side. Cass said that she was going to get kicked out. Cass had a little bit of hope, when Laurie said that she was right, but she was shut down again, when Laurie said that she quit. She was going to start her own studio. Raye felt powers of the Negaverse. Laurie left, and Serena, Amy, Raye and Luna followed. The couldn't see Laurie anywhere, and saw her on the roof. They went to her.

On the roof, Cass joined the girls as they saw Laurie begin to glow. Cass asked what was happening, and Laurie said that she couldn't stand to be around her anymore. She asked what she had done wrong, and Laurie said nothing, and that was the problem. Laurie raised her pencil in the air, and Cass saw that it was the special pencil. Laurie exclaimed,

"My energy belongs to the great Negaforce!"

Nephlite sensed the energy peak, and released the Gemini twins.

The Sailor Scouts were needed. Cass fainted, and the Sailor Scouts came.

"MERCURY POWER TRANSFORM!"

"MARS POWER TRANSFORM!"

"MOON PRISM POWER!!"

Zoicite appeared to Nephlite, and said the Sailor Scouts fell into his trap. Nephlite said that the Sailor Scouts' meddling would be their downfall. He said that he trained the Gemini's himself, and that the Sailor Scouts were about to get a dose of their own medicine.

The Sailor Scouts introduced themselves. The Gemini twins, Red, and Blue, said that their routines were old. Red attacked first.

"Mars Fire Ignite!"

Sure enough, the fires of Mars flew at the girls, and missed. Blue then attacked.

"Mercury Bubbles Blast!"

The bubbles flew at the Sailors with piercing power, and missed by a hair.

Mars said that Mars power was hers. Just as Red was about to finish them off, Blue intervened, and said that Red wouldn't get all the glory. The two argued, and the tails that had once linked them together, were now separated. The Sailor Scouts used the advantage.

"MOON TIARA MAGIC!"

"MARS FIRE IGNITE!!"

"MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!!!"

The three attacks combined, and killed the two twins. Nephlite suddenly lost the energy, and Zoicite said,

"It was nice knowing you, Nephlite!"

Nephlite had thought that the twins were invincible.

At the animation studio, Laurie apologized to Cass. Cass said that she wanted to know about the special pencils, and Laurie admitted that her case was empty. Cass admitted that hers was almost. She said that she didn't tell, because she was afraid that Laurie wouldn't be her friend. The two made up, and the girls watched.
