Sailor Moon Episode 122Episode title: No Ordinary Horsepower Original American Airdate: 9/28/2000 Inside the large circus tent, the odd creatures and monsters who inhabited it played and laughed at Tiger's Eye's expense. Zirconia silenced them all, and called forth the Amazon Trio. The Trio appeared before Zirconia. "I know I don't have to tell you again how critical it is to find Pegasus, but I will anyway." Zirconia rasped. "We must seize him to rule the world, and in over a hundred years, now's our chance. Now go. You'll find him hiding in some person's dream. All you have to do is locate this person, and he'll be all ours." The Trio bowed to Zirconia, and retired to their bar chamber to select a target. Once there, Tiger's Eye was complaining that everyone kept telling him he failed. "I was doing a great job until I crossed paths with that girl!" He said, taking down a drink. "If it wasn't for that stupid Sailor Snout, or whatever it's called!" "Oh, it's your fault and you know it." Hawk's Eye said. "Quite trying to pass on the blame to someone else." "Is that what you think?!" Tiger's Eye said angrily. "That's what I think." Fish Eye said. She had been fiddling on something in her lap. "Some friend you are!" Tiger's Eye said. "What have you got there?" Fish Eye help up a beautiful golden saddle she had found in the tent. She planned to ride Pegasus with it. Tiger's Eye liked the idea. "Look." Hawk's Eye said, picking up a picture of a girl. "This one could be a possibility." Tiger's Eye took a look for himself. He quickly agreed. Fish Eye found their display pathetic. "Sounds like somebody needs a nap, hey Hawk's Eye?" Tiger's Eye remarked. In any case, Tiger's Eye and Hawk's Eye agreed that the girl in the picture should be their target. The picture was that of Rita, Andrew's girlfriend. Meanwhile, the girls were searching the park where Serena and Rini had been attacked. "So we have a new enemy and a friendly flying horse?" Raye wondered aloud. "Tell me, Rini," Serena said, "are you sure you don't know anything about them?" Rini thought about her dream, and about the Pegasus that appeared when she fought the enemy. Finally, she said she didn't know anything about Pegasus. Suddenly, she heard a horses neigh, and went to see. Serena ran after her. Rini stopped when she saw an equestrian obstacle course. The woman on the horse prepped the animal to jump over an obstacle. The horse tried with all its might, but it knocked down the top pole of the fence and sent the rider flying to the ground. After a moment, the rider got up. "It's Rita!" Serena exclaimed. "I'd heard she got back from Africa." Lita said. Rini asked if Rita was a friend. "Yes she is." Lita said. "But, she's also Andrew's girlfriend." The girls went to see if Rita was alright. Inside, the girls were with Rita, talking to her. Amy was worried that they had distracted her. Rita said that she couldn't concentrate, and perhaps the horse was annoyed with her. "Oh well." Rita said, looking out at the horse, then back to the ground. "I was a little distracted thinking about a problem." "A problem?" Serena asked. "You don't seem like you have a problem." "But I do." Rita said, putting her tea cup down. "After finishing my paper for my degree, the school's dean suggested that I pursue a Master's degree in Europe. And while the program will be great, they'll want me to stay and teach as well. I could be there for ten years." "What does Andrew think about all this, Rita?" Lita asked. Rita continued her downward stare. "Well, he smiled and said he was happy for me, but he hasn't answered my phone calls since. I'm afraid he's given up on me, and us, and wants to move on." Rita said, choking back sobs. "It's so hard. I care about him so much. But I have to consider my career too." The girls sat in silence for a while. Suddenly, Serena and Mina leapt onto their feet. "I've got an idea!" They both exclaimed, silencing their cats. "Why don't we try to find out his real intentions for you, okay Rita?" They both chimed again. They both resolved themselves to solve this problem for Rita. Rita, slightly scared, agreed to the proposition. Later on, Mina and Serena had confronted Andrew at the restaurant where Elizabeth worked. "Look, I appreciate what you're doing, but I just can't see her anymore." Andrew said. "This opportunity's one of a kind, and I'm happy she'll have such a great future ahead in Europe." Andrew excused himself and went back to his work. "Nice attitude." Serena muttered. "Oh, come on, Serena." Luna said. "It's none of your business let him figure it all out." Suddenly, Mina and Serena squeezed their cats tightly, to show what might happen again if they ever discouraged thier mission. "I know you mean well Serena." Amy said from a nearby table. "But shouldn't we try to figure out the new enemy first?" "I know the enemy's a priority, but don't you even care about our friends, Amy?" Serena said back sternly. Mina repeated the question. "Sure I do, but it's their business." Amy replied. "I wonder." Lita said aloud. "Could it be possible that Andrew doesn't even care for Rita anymore?" The girls thought about it for a moment. Elizabeth came to Serena's table and gave her and Mina their drinks. "I'm afraid my brother's a bit stubborn." Elizabeth said. "And I also think he likes to fake like there's nothing wrong at all" Serena agreed wholeheartedly. "Hey, Serena... you saying there's a problem with you and Darien?" Elizabeth wondered. "Yes, I think so." Serena squeaked through dramatics. "But I'm fine, though. Really, I am!" To put things in perspective, Raye told Elizabeth that it had been a whole long day since Serena and Darien had spoken to each other. Amy asked how she knew. "She called me and yakked forever about it." Raye answered with a sneer. Amy, Lita and Mina all revealed that they had gotten calls too. Raye asked why Serena would help Andrew and Rita, when she can't even help herself. To all the girls' embarrassment, Serena started crying. Meanwhile, Rita and Rini were at the stables, and Rini was feeding the horse a carrot. Rita believed that horses could tell a person's character, and could sense people's problems. Rini asked Rita if she knew of a white horse with wings and a horn. "Yes, I do." Rita replied. "That's a creature of the World of Dreams." "He lives in a dream land?" "It's a beautiful myth that people created long ago and still lives in our dreams." Rita explained. "Say, you say that like you've been able to see Pegasus in your dreams. Have you, Rini? That's cause you're so full of wonderful dreams." Rini laughed embarrassed, as she had been aprehensive that Rita may have found out her secret. "Oh, I don't have wonderful or beautiful dreams!" Rini said. "It's you who would have beautiful dreams, Rita." "But I think my dream's making those who love me feel rejected and lonely." Rita replied. "Would you call that a beautiful dream when the reality creates such sadness?" That night, Rini sat in her room, staring out her window at the stars. Serena in the meantime, was talking with Mina on the phone about her plan to get Andrew to talk. "Hey Luna, do you know what's happening with Rita and Andrew?" Rini asked finally. Luna told Rini about how Andrew may have moved on since Rita's going away to Europe. "I've heard love's hard to keep alive when there's distance between couples." Rini said. "I wonder if it's possible for distance to weaken their feelings too." Luna refused to offer her opinion on the matter. Serena hung up the phone, and another call came in. It was Darien. Serena shouted at him for not calling, and Darien simply replied that everytime he called, the line was busy. He told Serena not to be on the phone so much. He asked her if she had spoken with the girls about the enemy. Serena said that they would get all their information and take the right action. She hung up, and swooned over Darien. Rini thought about how her parents always told her how much they miss her when she's gone. She came to the conclusion that distance makes feelings stronger, not weaker. The next day, Rita was back on her horse, attempting to jump the fence obstacle. The horse stopped before it could jump, and Rita stroked its face gently to calm it. Suddenly, the loud whinney of a horse nearby caught Rita's attention. She looked up to see a man atop a black horse, with long golden locks. He smiled at Rita. "How do you do?" The man said politely. "I never knew goddesses could be found riding horses on earth until now." He smiled at Rita. Rita looked at the man in awe and embarrassment. Meanwhile, Rini and Luna were walking to the horse stables where Rita was. Rini stopped in surprise when she saw Rita walking with a tall man with long blond hair. Rini wanted a closer look. Luna objected. "You train so hard." The man, who was really Tiger's Eye in disguise said to Rita. "I know, but you'd never know it." She replied. "It seems the harder I try, the less I can concentrate." She looked up at the sky. Tiger's Eye told her that he could see a problem being expressed by her eyes. Rita blushed more. Meanwhile, Rini was watching Rita and Tiger's Eye talking. She wanted to get closer, though. Luna objected, and said that Rini reminded her of Serena. Rita wondered to Tiger's Eye if her dream was worth it if it hurt so many people. Tiger's Eye wanted to know more. He grabbed Rita's hand, startling the woman. He stroked her hand, and asked odd questions about her dream in life. He leaned in too close to Rita, and Rita started to run away, but Tiger's Eye snapped his fingers, and a vine curled out of the ground and around Rita's leg, tripping her. Tiger's Eye chuckled, with an evil smirk on his face. He offered to help Rita up. Rita trembled on the ground, and Tiger's Eye revealed his true form. "One! Two! Three!" As before, Tiger's Eye's count brought up the upright table, the shackles bound Rita to the apparatus, and Rita's Dream Mirror appeared. Luna told Rini to transform. "MOON PRISM POWER!" Tiger's Eye stared down Rita. "Stop!" A voice shouted. "How dare you prey on the feelings of a girl with a problem! Your good looks don't mean diddly if you don't treat girls with real true kindness, and also respect! I'm Sailor Mini Moon! And in the name of the Future Moon, I shall punish you!" Tiger's Eye recognized Mini Moon. He called for his monster, Danko, and sent it after the Sailor Scout. The monster was horrific like the last, and used a whip of its own. It attempted to hit Sailor Mini Moon with it over and over, but Mini Moon was able to dodge each attack. While Mini Moon was distracted, Tiger's Eye took a look inside Rita's Dream Mirror. He did not find what he was looking for. He told Danko to get rid of both the Sailor Scout and Rita. "Oh no you don't!" Another voice shouted. "Sailor Moon!" Shouted Mini Moon. "That's me!" Sailor Moon said. "Wherever evil exists, I'll be there to stomp all over it! I stand for love! I stand for truth and justice too! I'm Sailor Moon! And in the name of the moon, I shall punish you!" "Now there's pumpkins all over the place!" Tiger's Eye said, referring to the other Sailor Scouts who had suddenly appeared by Sailor Moon. "Hi, Serena. Guess you forgot about our little meeting with Darien." Mars said quietly to Sailor Moon. "When you didn't show up, we thought you'd probably be here." Mercury said. "Lucky for you, you did miss the meeting, so now we can be here to help Rita." Jupiter added. Tiger's Eye was disgusted that he wasn't the topic of conversation. He sent Danko after the Sailor Scouts. The monster attacked the Sailors with its whip. "MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND!" The rings of fire hurled towards the monster, but all of the rings were snagged onto the whip. At that, it sent the rings back at all the Sailor Scouts tenfold. Tiger's Eye laughed. He told Danko to do something funny. Funny Danko did, because it thrust its whip at the Sailor Scouts, making them run circles around Danko. Tiger's Eye laughed harder. Rini could keep it up anymore. She called out for help. Help us please, Pegasus... In the sky, a golden light flashed and pulsed. Pegasus appeared once again. Using his magic, he was able to change Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon into their super forms. Sailor Moon's new wand appeared. "SUPER MOON TARGET!" With a simple blast of energy, Danko was reduced to nothing but a shadow. Tiger's Eye retreated through a small portal and disappeared. Rita was freed. In the sky, Pegasus shone. All the Sailor Scouts watched in awe and disbelief as the magical horse flew into the sky and disappeared in a flash of light. Later, at the Crown Restaurant where Elizabeth worked, Mina and Serena had once again cornered Andrew and asked him to go see Rita himself. Andrew stuttered with his words. "Andrew, you know you can't tell us one good reason not to see Rita again." Darien said bluntly. "Otherwise, you know, these two goofballs won't leave you alone." "Well," Andrew began, "I decided not to because I didn't want her to give up her lifelong dreams just for me. I thought I'd stay away and give her time to think and make the right decision." He was trying to hold back tears. "I'd wait for her forever." He said. "She's the only one for me." "Well, I'm relieved to hear that." A voice said. Elizabeth looked towards the counter. Rita appeared from behind it. Andrew shot out of his chair, completely and totally alarmed. Rita said that she thought he'd given up because she's going away. "Rita, don't be so silly!" Andrew exclaimed, running to Rita and grasping her shoulders. "I'd be nuts to give you up!" Rita stared at Andrew with tears in her eyes. "Study hard. And, I'll still be here." He said. The girls cheered on their success, and Rini was finally able to learn that if people love and believe in each other, even distance can't measure up to the feeling of love. Rita was able to jump the obstacle. She and Andrew departed again, their love burning strong no matter the condition. To the Next episode |
