Sailor Moon Episode 135Episode title: Recipe for Danger Original American Airdate: 10/16/2000 Original Canadian Airdate: Serena and Rini were out shopping one fine day. They had selected potatoes and carrots, and Serena wanted to choose what kind of meat she wanted. Serena immediately selected beef, and looked for a package that had piece chunks cut up into cubes. Rini wanted chicken though, and the two started to argue. They stopped arguing when they heard an older woman complaining to a clerk. Apparantly, the woman had missed a special the supermarket was having, and wanted to be an exception. The clerk agreed to help her, so the woman took advantage of it and decided to have more of the item that was on sale. "Of all the nerve!" Rini said. Later, the same older woman was waiting to cross the street in pouring rain. Darien happened to want to cross the same way, and offered the woman his umbrella. "What do you want from me?" The woman snapped. Darien looked at her, confused. "Huh?" "You must want something." She said. "Or else, why would you offer to share your umbrella with a woman you've never even met? Whatever it is, I'm not falling for it!" As the woman went on, Darien felt more and more shocked. He watched the woman cross the street, muttering that young people had no manners. Darien started to cross the street, and was almost hit by a truck. Of course, he got back to the sidewalk in time. Luna, Artemis and Diana saw the spectacle, and Artemis wondered if Serena's klutziness had rubbed off on him. "I think that lady said something that wasn't very nice!" Diana said with a frown. "Obviously, she doesn't know that nobody insults my king!" With that, Diana ran towards the lady. The lady had opened the gate to her estate, and walked in, closing it behind her. It was a large mansion estate, that seemed strangely quiet. Diana ran up to the gate, and squeezed through the iron bars. She ran towards the lady, but tripped and fell, rolling into the lady's foot. The lady smiled at the fallen kitten, and brought Diana inside. Artemis and Luna looked on from outside the gate. "Diana's only been here a while. She doesn't know she shouldn't talk." Said Artemis. Inside, the woman sprayed Diana with water to wash her off, and dried her off in a small towel. The woman smiled at Diana. Meanwhile, Luna and Artemis tried to catch the woman's attention, but to no avail. The woman spoke softly to Diana, unlike the way she had spoken to the people she had met that day. She took Diana into the kitchen, which looked like the kitchen of a restaurant, and started to cook a stew. "What are we gonna do, Luna?" Artemis said. "There's no way to get in and save our baby!" "I think it'll be alright, Artemis." Luna said. "And, at the first sign of trouble, we'll call the Scouts." Inside the house, the woman had set three plates up for dinner. One for her, one for Diana, and one for a person who would never be there, but used to be. Diana noticed that third bowl, but didn't see any evidence of a third person coming to dinner. "I'm glad you're here, kitty." The woman said. "I don't remember when I had company last." Luna and Artemis watched, wishing they could have some of the food. "Darien, you offered your umbrella?!" Serena gasped. It was like she had been slammed by some sort of freight train. "You just up and asked some lady you don't even know to stand within two feet of you?!" "Don't freak, I was just trying to be polite." Darien replied. Serena said, "But you should only be polite with me!" Darien told her to stop it. Mina finished sipping her drink. "Darien's weakness is that he's too much of a gentleman." She said. "Serena can't handle it." "That's true." Amy said. "But that's her problem, not his." "I'd love some cute guy to protect me from the rain." Lita said. "Me too." Raye said. "But if that woman is who I think she is, I'm not surprised she told him to take a hike." Mina asked, "You know who she is?" Raye said she just knew the woman's story. She explained that the woman they were talking about lived all alone, no kids or anything. According to rumor, the woman believed everyone was out to get her, and she always spoke what was on her mind. Rini and Serena knew that the description was that of the old lady. Serena bauled, so sure that Darien would dump her for someone who was rich. Darien told her to stop it. "Why don't you just gossip like usual?" He suggested. Lita gasped suddenly, and stood up. "I don't believe it!" She exclaimed. Amy said, "It's true, we do gossip, Lita." Lita was looking at an older man a few tables down. He was a famous chef that she recognized. But, she thought, if he was that famous chef, then he probably wouldn't be in the restaurant. The girls just sighed heavy sighs. Meanwhile, Hawk's Eye had picked a rather old-looking lady. Tiger's Eye and Fish Eye thought she might not be a good target, but Hawk's Eye knew his choice would be right. That night, Rini was in her bedroom (If you've been watching, and you don't know by now, her bedroom is in the attic). She was thinking about how the woman she saw at the supermarket was mean, but Diana told her that the woman was very nice. Pegasus appeared and asked Rini what was wrong. Rini told Pegasus about how the woman had made three bowls of food, but only she and Diana had eaten. Pegasus ventured that the woman was waiting for a guest, but Rini said that there was no other guest, and the woman hadn't had company in years. Rini wondered why the woman lived in such a huge house all alone. Pegasus chuckled, and Rini asked why he laughed. "Because you're making mysteries out of molehills." Pegasus said. "I know she is waiting for someone to come. Someone very special. But she just doesn't know if or when he'll show up, Rini. Leave her be. She's gotten along fine until now, hasn't she?" The next day, Rini demonstrated how she and Serena were alike, in their inability to listen to advice. She was walking down to the woman's house with Diana on her shoulder, thinking about how fishy the whole thing was. She stopped suddenly when she saw the man Lita had spotted at the restaurant. He started to walk away towards Rini, and tried to pass each other with some trouble. "Excuse me, but are you the world famous chef, Ono?" Rini asked. "No." The man said softly. "I'm just an old fool, come back to the place where I was a big young fool who left the love of my life. I know it must sound silly for someone my age to be talking about young love." "Silly? I think it's majorly romantic!" Rini said. "And as my grandma says, we're the same age inside. No matter how much time goes by, we stay young with the memories of true love guiding our heart!" The man couldn't help smiling. "That's good advice." He said. "You're quite wise for someone with the world ahead of her." With that, he went on his way. "Do you hear?" Rini said to Diana. "He said I was wise!" Rini smiled childishly, and Diana just sighed. She hopped off Rini's shoulder, and the two went to the gate of the woman's estate. As they gazed at its size and beauty, the woman walked up to them from down the street, and startled Rini. Diana jumped off her shoulder, and went to the lady. "Kitty." The woman said, kneeling. "Have you come back for more of my stew?" Inside, Rini and Diana admired the architecture of the house. It was beautiful and huge. "It must be lonely to live here by yourself." Rini said sadly. "Yeah, but she cooks good too, so maybe she isn't alone." Theorized Diana. As the two looked around, the woman came to them with some hot chocolate. "Did you know your kitty's been here before?" The woman said, pouring the hot chocolate. "We had a delightful luncheon." "I know." Rini said without thinking. "I mean... she must have been totally spoiled by you because she tried to drag me over here ever since she came home." Diana couldn't offer any sort of protest because Rini was holding her mouth shut. The woman handed Rini her cup of hot chocolate. Rini asked if the woman, whose name was Maya, really lived by herself in such a large house. "Do you find that strange?" Maya asked. "I worked very hard to be able to call this home. I wanted to invite many guests." Just then, the doorbell started ringing. Maya went out to see who it was. "That's it up ahead." Luna said. She and Artemis were leading Serena to Maya's house. "Good." Serena said. "I wanna see who thinks my Darien's umbrella's not good enough." "I thought you didn't want him to share." Artemis said. "Of course I don't!" Serena replied. "I just want him to be a gentlemen with me. But she made him feel unwanted, and that just won't fly!" Just then, the trio saw two men at Maya's front gate. They were rattling the gate and ringing the doorbell over and over. Maya came out calmly and told the two that she was not going to sell the house. The two men warned her to sell it, and Serena and the cats watched. As Serena went out to do something, a hand grabbed one of the men's wrists. It was Hawk's Eye. In mere seconds, one of the men had been beaten up, and the two drove off. "Good riddance to bad rubbish, right ma'am?" Hawk's Eye said to Maya. Maya stared at Hawk's Eye. "What do you want, mop head?" "Huh?" "I'm sure you must have some other motive for your chivalrous actions." Maya said. "Otherwise, why would you help a complete stranger?" "I really just meant to help you." Hawk's Eye said. She walked inside, and told Hawk's Eye to get a haircut. Hawk's Eye fumed. Rini and Diana watched the whole thing from inside. "Something's going on, Diana." Rini said. "Did you see how different Maya was out there? We should go." "Because I'm trying to protect my one and only home, little one." Maya's voice said. Rini whirled around, and Hawk's Eye disappeared at the gate. Rini apologized for saying things behind Maya's back. Maya poured more hot chocolate. "It's alright." She said. "I was nasty to them, Rini, but only because being nice and polite doesn't get through to them." "Why do they want you to move?" "Because they think this place is too big for just me, and they want to make it into condos." "Condos?" Rini esclaimed, standing up. "But this place is your pretty home! It's full of history, and memories, and yummy smells! They'd ruin it!" "You're a wise little girl, Rini." Maya said. Suddenly, a door burst open, and there stood Hawk's Eye. Maya told him to leave, but he refused. He revealed his true form, and wasted no time in trapping Maya, and exposing her Dream Mirror. Rini and Diana watched as Tiger's Eye looked through Maya's dreams, but found no Pegasus. Rini couldn't transform, and Diana decided to distract Hawk's Eye. She leapt onto his face, scratching it, and Rini ducked outside to transform. As she did, she bumped into Serena, and alerted her of the transformation. "MOON COSMIC DREAM ACTION!" Hawk's Eye finally plucked Diana off his face and threw the kitten into a pile of pillows. He was about to attack her when he heard a voice. "Hold it, creep!" Hawk's Eye looked at his entrance, and saw two forms standing there. It was Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon. "You're harrassing, trespassing, and trying to steal someone's nice dreams!" Sailor Moon shouted. "You want to take away something precious and priceless!" Cried Sailor Mini Moon. "We're the Sailor Scouts!" "The Champions of Justice and Dreams!" "I am Sailor Moon!" "And I'm Sailor Mini Moon!" "Maya's dreams are not for sale, so get lost, creep!" Hawk's Eye, undaunted of course, called his Remlis, Auto-Baiko. It was a monster that had spedometers for eyes, and moved around by means of a wheel, which it sat inside. It charged at the Sailor Scouts, but they dodged the attack. Auto-Baiko started to run across the walls, scuffing them up and breaking precious statues and bookcases. Hawk's Eye left, and Maya was freed from her bonds. Diana moved a pillow to soften Maya's fall, and told the Sailor Scouts to lead Auto-Baiko outside. The Sailor Scouts ran outside, and the Remlis smashed the windows to chase after them. As it charged towards them, a rose suddenly hit it in the face, and the Remlis crashed harmlessly into the hedges. "What a rotten thing you are, ruining homes and lovely gardens!" He chided at the Remlis. The monster recovered, and revved her engines. She started to charge yet again. "Pegasus, help to protect people's dreams!" "CRYSTAL TWINKLE BELL!" "MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!" The monster was destroyed, but luckily, the house was not as badly hurt. It was badly damaged though. After the fight, Darien, Rini and Serena reverted to their human forms and helped Maya onto a couch. Maya awoke, and asked who Serena and Darien were. "We're just um... we're Rini's family, actually." Serena said. Darien asked Maya if she was okay, and she wasn't. "My dream has been ruined." She said, sobbing. "Whose dream?" Rini asked. "Hers and mine." An unknown voice said. "Right, Maya? The dream that began here." The girls and Darien all looked at a broken window door as a man walked in. It was the man from the restaurant. "Hichiro..." Maya said, walking towards the man. "Maya, it's been twenty years since we dreamed of making this old mansion one of the best restaurants." Hichiro said. "And twenty years that I've missed you everyday." Serena, Rini and Darien exchanged looks as they watched the two. The two recounted their last encounter. Hichiro had left to become the world's best chef, even despite Maya's protests. Now, after twenty years, the two were reunited, and had the chance to make their dreams come true. He told her that in all the years with all the chefs he had studied with, none made stew as good as Maya's. Maya smiled, and tears came to her eyes. "You know something, Hichiro?" She said, putting her glasses down. "In all this time, I've never really found anyone else who I'd rather cook with than you." "Maya dear... do you think there is any chance you will be able to forgive my past?" Maya took Hichiro's hand. "When I saw you walk through the door, all that mattered was today." The two, reunited, finally went ahead with their dream. Their restaurant was opened, and the first customers were Serena, Darien, Rini, Lita, Mina, Raye and Amy. The special of course, was Maya's delicious stew. To the Next episode |
