Sailor Moon Episode 137Episode title: Beach Blanket Bungle Original American Airdate: 10/18/2000 Original Canadian Airdate: It was the hottest sunny day ever, and the girls were enjoying the beach. They each almost fought over the binoculars to see the best looking boys. Artemis and Luna sighed. Raye looked around the beach with the binoculars, and was suddenly startled when a body appeared right in front of her view. Three guys stood before her. "Do you lovely ladies come here often?" One guy asked. "Hey-hey, haven't I seen you someplace before?" A second one said. The third, a rather portly fellow, just laughed. The girls sized up the three men, and knew they were being hit on. "Sammy, give us a hand here!" Serena whispered. On cue, Sammy arose from a pile of sand, sporting a straw hat and a scar down his cheek. He walked between the three guys and the damsels in distress. "Hey dudes, these ladies are spoken for." Sammy said boldly. The guys all looked at Sammy rather nervously. Rather than fight or prove their worth, they decided to avoid trouble and go on their way. Sammy turned to the girls, and wiped off his scar, and threw off his hat. "I'm getting really tired of this stupid old charade, Serena!" Sammy exclaimed. "I'm sorry Sammy, but Darien's not here." Serena replied. "And, we need some kind of bodyguard to fend off unwanteds. You'll just have to continue protecting us fine babes from riff raff." "I thought I just had to protect you." Sammy quipped. Just then, Amy walked up. "Well, protecting Serena's a tough job, Sammy." She said. "Don't worry yourself about us. Why don't you go and swim for a while?" As Sammy beheld the sight of the beautiful Amy, he couldn't help but blush quite brightly. Rini tried to pull him towards the water, but Sammy wanted to go alone. He ran to the water by himself. Serena was left wondering what had just happened. "Amy's always so nice to him." Mina said. "I think he has a crush on her." "So, Sammy's going for an older woman." Raye said. "That explains the blushing." Lita said. Amy just looked at the girls, confused. Serena said, "What are you guys talking about? He's a kid!" "As if that would matter." Rini said dreamily, looking at some handsome guy. Meanwhile, the Amazon Trio was before Zirconia. He asked them if they had found Pegasus, and their reply was negative. Zircon shone a light, and a photograph appeared. Zirconia looked at it and gave it to the Trio. Their next target was Amy Mizuno. Tiger's Eye questioned Zirconia, saying that the target might be hard to approach. Zirconia yelled at the Trio, reminding them that relying on their good looks has gotten them nowhere. Voices from the darkness of the Dead Moon Circus tent echoed in agreement, and Tiger's Eye resolved to find Pegasus, or they could be replaced. Instead of their bar, the Amazon Trio retired to a food stand at the same beach where the girls were enjoying their day. "Look Tiger's Eye, you have no right to be placing me and Fish on the line, especially with this girl." Hawk's Eye said to a pigging out Tiger's Eye. "He's right." Fish Eye added. "If you fail this time, who knows what'll happen to us." Tiger's Eye slurped in the last of his noodles and slammed his bowl on the counter. "Oh relax." He said. "Keep your pants on! She's not so tough. I have a plan to make this girl surrender. Her weak spot's all I need to find." Just then, a baseball game came on the radio. Tiger's Eye told the shopkeeper not to change the station, but the shopkeeper just yelled back that it was his store and radio. Tiger's Eye warned the man not to provoke him. The man told Tiger's Eye to shut up and eat. Meanwhile, the girls were at a drink stand, ordering their drinks. "I want Cappucino!" Rini said. "You can't have that! It's for adults!" Serena said. Rini just smirked at Serena. Amy and Sammy had collected their drinks and were leaving the stand. Just then, a disguised Tiger's Eye ran into Amy, spilling her drink. Tiger's Eye looked appealing to the girls, but Amy didn't act the same way. Tiger's Eye apologized for ruining her drink, and invited her to his private beach as an apology. Sammy was about to play his protector role, but was suddenly pushed out of the way by Mina. "Did you say private beach?" Mina said, suddenly appearing in Tiger's Eye's face. Tiger's Eye drew back. He recognized Mina from their previous attack. The other girls thanked Tiger's Eye for the invite. Rini asked Serena what Darien would think if she went off to a private beach, and Serena said they'd discuss it later. Sammy sat up. "And what am I supposed to do?" He asked. Tiger's Eye didn't want to have all these girls along. He stammered, "Actually, I was just talking to-" "No thank you." Amy said. The girls parted and revealed Amy standing behind them. "I could never go without my buds. I could never expect you to invite them, since we are perfect strangers." "I didn't mean to exclude them or hurt your feelings." Tiger's Eye replied. Amy thanked him for his kindness, and the girls walked off. Tiger's Eye was furious. He went back to the snack bar he and the Trio were eating at, and though they said it was hopeless, Tiger's Eye was still resolved to complete his mission. Meanwhile, the girls were asking Amy why she didn't go. Mina said she would have gone. Artemis quipped that Mina would have gone with anybody. Mina grabbed Artemis' tail. Hard. Amy said that the man was a complete stranger. "But that's why you should go out with him!" Raye said. "How else do you get to know people? You can't live in a shell all the time." "I really don't think it's a good idea to be too eager for love." Amy replied. "I know I'll meet my special guy someday when the time comes. And when it happens, everything will feel right. This does not feel right at all. I'll just follow my feelings, and one special day, I'll come out of my shell and take a chance." Listen to your own heart... Rini thought. Her thoughts drifted to Pegasus. Serena started to go on about her and Darien, but Mina and Lita silenced her. Lita told Amy that she didn't think Tiger's Eye was her type anyway. Amy tried to tell them that she didn't mean that. "As you wish, Amy." Raye said, almost teasing. "You might never meet your Prince Charming if you don't try a little or take a chance. One day, if your Prince Charming does come along, I hope you don't send him packing." "Maybe you're right." Amy said. Sammy couldn't help smiling. A few minutes later, Sammy and Amy were on a raft, drifting about on the ocean. "Amy, I don't think they're right." Sammy said. "How come?" Amy asked. Sammy said, "Well, it's none of my business, I'm guessing from what Serena and the girls have said, but I thought your only dream was to become a doctor. I didn't think you had room for anything else." "Well, people can have many dreams." Amy replied. "And I think there's always room for love. I do want to be a doctor, but there are other elements to life, too - love, family, friends, fitness, reading, travel." Sammy just stared at Amy, listening to every word she said. "But since it's been mom and me for so long," Amy continued, "I have lots of dreams, and ones to have a big family." "That sounds like a nice dream." Sammy said, blushing once again. A ways away, Tiger's Eye's head popped out of the ocean. He was pleased that Amy was almost alone. He started to laugh, but ended up swallowing water, and coughed and sputtered. Meanwhile, the girls were playing volleyball on the beach. Fish Eye and Hawk's Eye were on chairs, leaning back and enjoying the sun. Fish Eye wondered how Tiger's Eye was doing, and Hawk's Eye didn't care. The cook of the snack bar suddenly felt the wind change. Out on the ocean, Amy noticed that she and Sammy were drifting quite far from shore. Sammy started to row back. Suddenly, a sharp fin started rushing towards the two. They were scared at first, but relieved when it was only a man with a dolphin. The man was, of course, Tiger's Eye. "Where did you come from?" Amy asked. "Are you some kind of dolphin trainer?" Asked Sammy. Tiger's Eye dove underwater and came back up. "What do you think, I just rented this one for the day?!" He said. "Of course I am." "Who cares? You don't have to be rude about it." Sammy retorted. "Maybe he should be teaching you manners!" Tiger's Eye told Sammy to shut his mouth, and Sammy shot back, saying he wasn't a kid. Tiger's Eye snapped his finger, and the boat underneath Sammy gave, and Sammy sunk into the ocean. As Tiger's Eye was saying something to Amy, Amy dove into the water after Sammy. Sammy sank like a stone (what does this kid eat?), and Amy went after him. Amy grabbed ahold of the boy, and looked back towards the surface. The sun was setting, and the girls were looking for Sammy and Amy. They were nowhere to be found. Just then, Diana saw something wash up on the beach. It was a torn up rubber raft, the same one Sammy and Amy had rented that day. Serena was very worried for her brother's safety. Meanwhile, Amy had found a cave along the coast, and was trying to breathe life back into Sammy. "Wait a minute." Tiger's Eye said. "What are you doing that for? Why do you care so much about a little kid anyway? Why does he mean so much to you? Oh... maybe he's some kind of relative." "No, we're not related. He's a special friend of mine." Amy replied as she performed CPR on Sammy. "Special friend?" Tiger's Eye repeated, confused. "Yes, special friend." Amy replied. "You do have special friends, don't you? I couldn't bear to lose his life, and I'll do everything I can to save him." Amy went back to doing CPR on Sammy. What's a friend? Tiger's Eye wondered in thought. Is it someone who would want to save my life that much? Do I have anyone who cares enough to call him a friend? Just then, Sammy started coughing, and he came to. Amy hugged him tightly, crying. Sammy couldn't help blushing at his savior. Tiger's Eye looked on. "This friend thing, it doesn't exist in my world." Tiger's Eye said. "I have no need for a friend. All I want to do is catch Pegasus. I'll do it alone!" With that, Tiger's Eye snapped his fingers, and the curtain appeared. When it disappeared, Tiger's Eye was in his true form. "One!" Shouted Tiger's Eye. The upright table came up against Amy, knocking Sammy away from her. Tiger's Eye completed his count, and Amy was trapped, with her Dream Mirror appearing. Tiger's Eye walked towards Amy to look at her Dream Mirror. Sammy suddenly appeared in the way, holding a large branch he had found. Tiger's Eye simply used his whip and caught the branch, and used it on Sammy, knocking the boy out of the way. He walked to Amy, and attempted to look into her Dream Mirror. "Hold it!" A voice shouted. Tiger's Eye looked to the mouth of the cave. Two forms stood there. "A summer romance may be short, but that makes it more special, and one to always hold close to one's heart with fond memories!" The first voice shouted. It was Super Sailor Moon. "We're the Sailor Scouts!" She shouted. "And we stand for Love and Justice!" Sailor Mini Moon shouted. "I'm Sailor Moon!" "And I'm Sailor Mini Moon!" "And in the name of the moon, we will punish you!" The other Sailor Scouts appeared to make the odds even more uneven. Tiger's Eye called his Remlis. It was an oddly cute monster that was almost elvish in build. It flew above the Sailor Scouts, and swallowed two billiard balls. After a series of bizzare movements, a ball came out of the Remlis' head. It threw the ball at the Sailor team, and it exploded, sending everyone flying everywhere. The monster did the same movements again, and this time got a much larger ball to squeeze out of its head. It threw the ball, and though the Sailor Scouts dodged it, they couldn't escape the force of the blast. Amy watched helplessly from the upright board. The Sailor Scouts were down from the explosion, and could only watch helplessly as Tiger's Eye looked into Amy's Dream Mirror. He did not find Pegasus, so he left everything to his Remlis, and retreated. The Remlis started doing those same strange movements again, and was about to squeeze out another ball. Before it could however, a rose flew right by it, causing it to swallow the ball. Tuxedo Mask stood at the top of the cave. "A summer beach is like gardens filled with pleasant sounds and happy sights." Tuxedo Mask said. "You only bring misery, and evil party poopers will not be tolerated!" Sailors Moon and Mini Moon swooned over Tuxedo Mask. "However far apart we may be, love will always carry me closer to thee." Tuxedo Mask said. The monster simply got ready to attack. Amy said, "Her mouth! Block her mouth, now!" Sailor Moon covered her mouth. The girls said that's not what she meant. Tuxedo Mask threw his top hat at the monster, and the monster caught it in its mouth. It tried to swallow the hat, but couldn't. While it was distracted, Sailor Moon and Sailor Mini Moon stepped up. "Please, Pegasus! Protect people's dreams!" "CRYSTAL TWINKLE BELL!" "MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!" The monster was destroyed. That night, Sammy finally came to, and luckily for him, Amy was the first thing he saw. Serena said she was so worried for him. Sammy suddenly sat up quickly. "Where is he?!" Sammy exclaimed. "You're safe now, Sammy." Amy said. "Sailor Moon's driven him away from here." "I'm sorry!" Sammy said. "I was a really lame bodyguard! I should've done a much better job!" Amy put her hands on Sammy's shoulders. "Without your courage Sammy, I would have been hurt badly before Sailor Moon arrived. You saved my life." Sammy blushed. Later that night, the girls all enjoyed the fireworks show at the beach. Amy and Sammy stood together seperately from the other girls. Mina thought it would be more fun with a guy. "I'll bring Darien next time for sure!" Serena said. "I'll bring Darien next time!" Rini said. Serena and Rini started fighting almost right away. Amy and Sammy enjoyed the bright lights and colors, and the beauty that was the fireworks show in the night sky. To the Next episode |
