Sailor Moon Episode 146Episode title: Nightmare Garden Original American Airdate: 10/31/2000 Original Canadian Airdate: The girls learned about a bazaar going on at a nearby kindergarten. Melanie and a friend hung up the poster for it. "We used to go to this kindergarten when we were little." Melanie said. "And now we like to help out with different things when they need us." Lita admired their kindness. Rini told Serena that since she was her guardian, she had to help too. "Funny, you only call me your guardian when you need my help." Serena said observantly. Just then, the girls all heard a whistle blow. It was a teacher at the kindergarten, and he was directing the kids inside. The girls couldn't help swooning over him madly, including Amy. It turned out, as the girls found, that he was the principal, Mr. Hanjo. "Count me in, Rini!" Mina said, pushing Serena and Lita out of the way. "I just love kids, and it's for such a good cause!" Lita volunteered as well. Artemis sighed and wondered at the enigma that was the female. Inside, as people were setting decorations and such for the bazaar, Mr. Hanjo thanked the girls for their help. "Oh, it's my pleasure, really." Mina said. "I'm a total kid person at heart." Mina took some silent time to swoon over Mr. Hanjo. He explained to the girls that he planned to build a flowerbed for the children with the funds from the bazaar. The school was downtown, which didn't leave a lot of room for nature. Lita thought that it would look lovely. "Do you like flowers?" Hanjo asked. "Yes." Lita replied. "Actually, I'd like to become a florist eventually." Mina frowned at the pair as they talked. "Excuse me, Mr. Hanjo?" Mina said, pushing Lita out of the way. "You must really like children a lot." Mr. Hanjo blushed. "Well, yes I do." "The man I marry has to like kids, 'cause I'm going to have a lot." Mina said. "What?!" The other girls exclaimed. "And since I really like them a lot, then I'd be happy to have enough to make our own baseball team." Said Mina. The girls sighed. "Children are so sweet and innocent." At that moment, Mina didn't notice a hand in front of her face. She turned to Mr. Hanjo, and he reacted. Mina found a large red x on her cheek. "Why you little brats!!" Mina shrieked. The child who did it defiantly stayed where he was when the other children ran. "If you ask me," he said, "I made you look better." "That's impossible, you little wretched fiend!" Mina shouted. The kid wasn't intimidated at all. Mr. Hanjo picked up the kid, named Kochoro, and told him to apologize. Instead, he told her he could see through her cherade. Lita told Mina to calm down. Hanjo brought Kochoro out of the room, and Mina seethed. Meanwhile, JunJun was feeling bored, as was the rest of the Amazon Quartet. Zircon came back, and the girls were anxious to recieve their next target. Zirconia gave the new photo to ParaPara, JunJun and VesuVesu, and they started fighting. Sophisticated and graceful as she was, CeleCele held out a flower as a present to the rest of the Quartet. The flower bud opened, and sprinkled the girls with dust. The girls fell asleep. CeleCele grabbed her picture, and went on her way. Meanwhile, Lita was working very hard on preparing for the Bazaar. She assisted her friends in cooking and crafts, and was even making a teddy bear. Mr. Hanjo said, "Hey, you're doing fantastic work." Lita wiped her forehead. "Lita, you have a real knack for this stuff." Mr. Hanjo said. "Yeah, especially for teddy bears, no?" Lita replied. Mr. Hanjo asked Lita if she ever thought about becoming a kindergarten teacher. Lita admitted that while she hadn't thought about it before, it did sound intriguing. Mina spied from a half-opened door. She suddenly burst in, and grabbed him by the arm, leading him to another room. In that room, she showed him an odd mass of fabric on a small stand. "Well, it's uh... what is it, exactly?" Hanjo asked. "Funny guy, you know it's a sweater!" Mina replied. "It's for those cool summer nights when you don't have to use your arms for anything." The children mocked the sweater, which ticked Mina off. She squeezed poor Mr. Hanjo's hand. Kochoro took a loose thread and started to unravel the sweater. Mina ran after him, and tore through the room where everyone was preparing their things. As they ran, everything was knocked to the ground, and the two started barreling towards Lita. Finally, Mina and Kochoro crashed into Lita, sending Lita's bear flying, and breaking it. Mina had caught Kochoro, and was holding him fast. "Mina!" Lita shouted. Kochoro and Mina stopped, and looked around the trashed room. "How thoughtless can you get, Mina?" Lita asked angrily. "I'm sorry!" Mina said. She frowned at Kochoro when he quipped an "as if" remark. "Everyone's working hard to make this bazaar a success!" Lita said. Mina smiled. "Relax Lita, your ponytail's too tight." She said. Lita gritted her teeth. Mina picked up the bear, and tried to give it to Lita. The arm fell off, however. Finally, Lita just took it, and turned her back to Mina. "We're finished." Lita said. "I'm so done with you, Mina!" Mina gasped, and looked at Lita in shock. The girls all looked on. "I apologized!" Mina said. "What do you want from me?" "Just go away." Lita replied. "I said, I'm so done with you!" "Fine! I'm so done with you too, Lita!" Mina shouted, running out of the room. The girls just stared on silently. That evening, Mina and Artemis went home, and up to her room. Mina stretched out across her bed. "Artemis, it's all that monster child's fault." She said. "You have no one to blame but yourself, Mina." Artemis replied. "You just can't compete with Lita at those domestic types of projects. You should have known that." "I can't compete with her in strength either." Mina said, feeling her bicep. Artemis suggested that Mina help Mr. Hanjo by doing what she does best. Mina searched through her shelf, and found exactly what she was looking for. She would help Mr. Hanjo by singing. The next day was the day of the Bazaar. A limo pulled up, and a red carpet rolled out from the back door. From it, stepped a beautiful woman. It was CeleCele in disguise. Lita was at a stand, cooking some food. Rini came by and asked where Mina was. The girls didn't know. Lita said she didn't care. "Lita, are you still angry?" Serena asked. "Not a bit!" Lita replied. Serena asked Lita if she was sure. The more Serena asked, the more angry Lita got. Finally, Lita bent her spatula. Amy was about to go check on Mina, when they suddenly heard loud music blaring nearby. They went to the source. There was a small stage, with pink curtains, and a ghetto blaster playing the music. A gloved hand reached out and stopped the tape. The girls all gasped in shock as Mina came out, decked out in a strange dress, ready to sing for the small audience in front of her. Mina started to, well, try to sing. "Have you guys ever heard of Miss Mina?" One child asked. Mina was bothered by the statement. "Nope, never heard of her." "I've never seen her on TV." "She must not be popular at all." Mina was angry at first, but sank to her knees. She put her microphone on the ground, and stood up again with tears in her eyes. "I give up." She sobbed. "It's not worth it to like children! They just don't like me!" Mina took off by herself. The girls looked on at her, concerned. Artemis went to go after her, and asked Lita if she'd come along. Lita asked why, and Artemis just told her to go. Finally, Lita went. Meanwhile, CeleCele was looking at the Bazaar, and was unamazed by the things she found. Mr. Hanjo handed her a balloon, and she just stared at him, as if in awe. Mina was standing underneath an overpass, and was thinking to herself. Artemis and Lita came to her. "Oh, Lita, you're much more successful at having your dream than I am." Mina said. "My dream to become a famous singer is so far away, it might never happen. Why did I have to pick such a tough goal anyway?" "What are you saying, Mina?" Lita asked. Mina replied, "I envy you because you're able to realize your dreams so much earlier. It's going to take me years to come close." "What you mean to say is you think my dream is easier than yours to achieve, am I right, Mina?" Lita replied. "Well, I..." "Do you think cooking and sewing came to me overnight?" Lita said. "I practiced for many many years, made tons of mistakes to get where I am now. I've worked really hard!" "Are you playing me, Lita?" Mina said. "I've worked hard at my singing lessons!" Artemis tried to get the girls to calm down, but they just yelled at him to stay out of it. Meanwhile, CeleCele was talking with Mr. Hanjo, and he had told her about his plans for a flowerbed. She belittled it as much as she could. Mr. Hanjo just told her that while it was a small dream, and only making it from so little money. Finally, CeleCele cut through the smalltalk, and revealed her true form. She threw a large amount of seeds on the floor, and they sprouted almost immediately. In mere moments, the entire school was overrun by the huge vine-like plants. People fled the school. The girls saw Mr. Hanjo in trouble, and went to his aid. Back at the bridge, things continued to take course between Lita and Mina. "You shouldn't take things so personally." Lita said. "They're just kids! You gotta lighten up. They just wanna have fun!" "Yeah, sure they do!" Mina replied. "At my expense!" Just then, a frantic and very frightened Kochoro came to them, and told them what was going on. They rushed to help. At the school, CeleCele shot her yellow billiard ball, and it struck Mr. Hanjo in the back. His Dream Mirror appeared, but it wasn't the one CeleCele was hoping for. CeleCele got ready to get rid of the Dream Mirror. "Not so fast!" A mysterious voice shouted. "Who are you?" CeleCele asked. A flower bloomed, and inside were the Sailor Scouts, minus Jupiter and Venus. "How dare you try and destroy this Bazaar!" Sailor Moon shouted. "This Bazaar was to help a dream come true for the children!" Mini Moon added. "You should be ashamed!" "We're the Sailor Scouts, and we fight evil!" Mars and Mercury shouted. "And in the name of the Moon, we shall punish you!" CeleCele, bored with the introduction, called forth her Remlis. It was a flower-type monster, but it had a slot machine as its torso. The display on the slot machine showed three 7's, and the Sailors were showered with black balls. They fell off the flower they were on, and landed in the maw of a man-eating plant. The girls did their best to keep the slimy jaws of the plant from closing. Just then, Mina and Lita ran in. They raised their new transformation pens, but vines quickly bound them, and they dropped their pens. CeleCele, allowed the Remlis to eat Hanjo's Dream Mirror, and retired to the circus tent. At least, she would have if the rest of the angry Amazon Quartet hadn't appeared at the door. "You decieved us, you sorry shrew!" VesuVesu shouted, brandishing her whip. "Whatever are you talking about?" CeleCele said innocently, using a southern belle's accent. "Surely you don't mean to accuse little ol' me?" "Oh, cut out the act, Miss Scarlet!" ParaPara said, making a rather adult reference. "You're guilty and we all know it!" "Perhaps we should give you a taste of your own medicine." JunJun said. "Maybe that'll refresh your memory." ParaPara, JunJun, and VesuVesu all advanced on CeleCele. Meanwhile, the Sailor Scouts struggled for their lives, and Mina and Lita tried to break free. Mina wondered if they could do anything. "I'm not strong enough, I need more power!" Lita said. Artemis ran up to the girls and picked up their transformation pens. He threw each to the girls, and they managed to catch them. "The only way to get out of here is to summon your new powers, like Mercury and Mars did." Artemis said, being taken by the overgrown weeds. The two girls concentrated on their powers, and their transformation pens glowed with power. They were freed from their bonds, and could feel the knowledge and strength of their powers within them. "JUPITER CRYSTAL POWER!" "VENUS CRYSTAL POWER!" The Quartet cornered CeleCele. Before they could do anything, Sailor Venus and Sailor Jupiter appeared. The Quartet challenged them. "VENUS LOVE AND BEAUTY SHOCK!" Venus' new power manifested itself, and fired at the Amazon Quartet in the form of a heart made of pure energy. The Quartet dodged the attack. "JUPITER OAK EVOLUTION!" Sailor Jupiter's power shot at the plants in the room. The gaping venus fly trap that had the Sailor Scouts trapped was destroyed, and so was the large flower the Remlis was on. While the Remlis was distracted, Sailor Moon and Mini Moon stepped forward. "Please Pegasus! Protect people's dreams!" "CRYSTAL TWINKLE BELL!" "MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!" The Remlis was destroyed, and Mr. Hanjo's Dream Mirror was freed. A few hours later, when things had calmed down, the Bazaar resumed. It seemed to be a success. Lita was selling stuffed animals. Mina came to Lita, and wondered if a particular stuffed animal was fit to sell. It was the bear she had broken earlier, only all the broken parts had been sewn up. Quite expertly, too. "Oh Mina, your hands!" Lita said. Mina quickly hid her bandaged hands behind her back. Just then, Kochoro came to their stand, and grabbed the teddy bear. "It's okay." Kochoro said. "My daddy said he would pay for one that I liked." "Your daddy?" Serena said. Just then, Mr. Hanjo walked up, and paid for the bear. The girls were all more than shocked. But, what else could they do? Lita and Mina couldn't believe that their friendship had almost fallen through thanks to their dispute over a married man. "I'm really gonna love this stuffed fish!" Kochoro said. "It's a teddy bear!" Lita and Mina yelled. To the Next episode |
