Sailor Moon Episode 151Episode title: Rini's Lovely Rhapsody Original American Airdate: 11/07/2000 Original Canadian Airdate: Late one night, Rini was talking with Pegasus through her lampt. Elysion still stood in darkness and death. The skies were clouded with the tents from the Dark Moon. Pegasus made it clear to her that the Golden Crystal needed to be protected. The one who posessed the Golden Crystal had absolute power. Her purpose became clear to Rini - defeat the Dark Moon and reclaim the Crystal. "So, Pegasus, the Golden Crystal can actually save Elysion, right?" She asked. "But, what is the Golden Crystal? Why's it so powerful?" Pegasus averted his gaze, wishing he didn't have to put up with the torment of his response. "I'm sorry Rini, I can't tell you yet." He said. "There are some things I can't tell even you, little one." "I see." Rini replied, hurt. "You don't trust me enough, Pegasus?" "That's not it at all, Rini." Pegasus replied. "Someday I'll tell you, when the time has come." Rini reached out and grabbed the small lamp trinket. "Pegasus, we're friends, right?" She said, gazing at the light Pegasus looked at her from. "And even though I'm still little, I'm going to do everything I can to help you. I swear I'll be here for you whenever you need my help, just like you have been for me, since the first time we met." Rini promised Pegasus with all her heart and soul. Then, in a wash of white light, Rini was whisked to the Crystal Forest. She was dressed in her Princess gown. Without a word, she strode towards Pegasus, who stood tall and proud in the forest. She smiled and hugged his long horse face. Then, she got up on his back, and the two started to fly and soar through the forest, gliding and sailing on the air. As Pegasus flew, the surroundings changed, and suddenly, the two were flying over Tokyo. Rini grabbed hold as Pegasus flew high above the pink clouds. Before Rini was a lovely soft horizon of pink, a contrast to the darkness of the night sky. Birds flew by, frightning Rini, and she held on tight. "It's alright, Rini." Pegasus said. "They're admiring your wings." Rini looked to her back, and sure enough, two large wings had sprouted from her shoulders. Pegasus told her to let go, and to fly on her own. She did, and she sailed through the air like Pegasus. The magic and the feelings of it all made the two euphoric. "Pegasus, do you remember the first time you and I met?" Rini asked. "You were standing in the dark woods. You looked so lonely. But ever since that day, I feel that time has stopped, and our friendship has existed forever, and that we've been living in a sort of dream. A dream that I never want to wake up from, because I can't even imagine living life without you anymore, Pegasus." White light exploded from the clouds that night, and Pegasus and Rini descended towards earth gently. Rini held her hands at Pegasus' head. "Do you believe in fate, Pegasus?" She asked. "Do you believe each one of us has a destiny to fulfill? Because it wasn't until I met you that I felt there was a specific reason why I was born, and that I had a special purpose here." Pegasus looked at Rini with so much emotion in his eyes. "I know exactly what you mean, Rini." He said. "I'm glad our paths have crossed." Rini hugged Pegasus. In reality, she was hugging the lamp in which Pegasus had appeared. Pegasus made a promise to tell Rini everything she wanted to know one day. Rini said she was patient. Except when it came to desserts, of course. Serena was talking with her friends. She and the girls, cats and Darien had met at the cafe, and Serena was prattling on about hearing Rini talking to someone in her room the night before. "She said it was Melanie, but I think that's bogus." Serena said. Darien looked at her. "Why? You think she was talking to someone else instead?" "Yeah." Serena replied. "There's something fishy going down." "It's not fishy." Lita said, leaning back. "It's simple." Raye said, "I can't believe Rini's already got..." "What, what? What's she got?" Serena interrupted urgently. Mina sipped from her drink. "It's so obvious!" Mina said. "Wake up and smell the hot chocolate, Meatball brain!" Raye said. Serena looked around urgently. "I don't smell anything." She said. "So tell me, what's happening?" Raye sipped from her tea. "She's got herself..." "... a new best friend." Lita said. Raye's jaw dropped, leaking tea back into her cup. "Now, Lita." Amy said. "I think that you need to explain that." Serena asked what they were saying. "You know all those fish in the sea, Serena?" Raye asked. Serena replied yes. "Well, it looks like your daughter's gone and hooked one for herself!" Serena and Darien were in shock. "NO!" Serena said. "A boyfriend?" Darien repeated. Amy didn't understand why Rini would keep something like a boyfriend a secret. Mina blew bubbles into her drink. "It's first love." She said to Amy. "Everyone keeps their first love secret." "How romantic." Raye said. "Makes me think of mine." "It should." Lita said. "You haven't had one since then, have you?" Again, Raye's jaw dropped, leaking tea back into her cup. Raye reminded Lita that guys weren't banging down her door, and told Serena to ask Rini who she was talking to. Mina thought about lending Rini her book about puppy love and true romance. "That is, if you're finished with it, Amy!" Mina said. The girls giggled. Serena and Darien were still in shock. "But, Rini's too young! This can't be happening!" Darien said. "I know." Serena said painfully. "Now I'm going to have to spend all my free time spying on that little weasel." Meanwhile, Helios' body hung silently in its prison. Instead of a cage, threadlike bonds held his pale, limp body fast. No part of him had color, much like Elysion. Nehelenia fumed, being so close, and yet so far. She had the prisoner, but had no Golden Crystal. She screamed for Zirconia. Faithful to his Queen, a mirror appeared, bearing Zirconia's short little body in it. "I'm tired of waiting." Nehelenia said. "At last, it is time is near for us of the Dark Moon to seize this planet! Our reign is about to begin. You agree it will be a wonderful and glorious day?" "Yes, Your Majesty." Zirconia replied humbly. "All the more glorious because you, Queen Nehelenia, will have the power you deserve so much!" Nehelenia kept her back turned to her subject. "If you believe that Zirconia, what's taking you so long to find the Golden Crystal for me?" She asked angrily. Zirconia cowered. "Well, it's not quite as simple as it sounds, Highness." Zirconia said. "I just need a little more time is all. We're very close!" Nehelenia made it clear to Zirconia in no uncertain terms that she wanted the Golden Crystal soon. "I'm tired of waiting!" Zirconia screamed. He had gone to the Amazon Quartet after his meeting with Nehelenia. He yelled at them to wake up, but the Quartet was sleeping. "Wake up!" Zirconia shouted. A rumbling ensued, waking up the Quartet. "Oh, the octopus is waking us up." JunJun said. Zirconia threw a picture into JunJun's face, and told the girls to get to work. He warned them that Nehelenia was out of patience. Meanwhile, Raye and Lita were treating Rini to snacks and good food of all sorts. Rini had the feeling the two wanted something from her. When asked, Raye told her that they just wanted the chance to hang out with her for a while. "Yeah, hang out like girlfriends." Lita said. "We just want to know how you're doing these days, Rini." "But you just saw me yesterday too, girls." Rini said. Lita and Raye sighed. "You're goofy." Rini said, eating her snack. "Rini," Raye said, trying to sound innocent, "you know you can totally confide in us if you need to spill." Rini looked up at Raye, confused. "For example..." Raye said. "... about a new best friend." Lita said. "Way to blow my lead-in!" Raye said. "This is not about a new best friend, Lita!" "Why don't you let her tell us that?" Lita shot back. Rini was still wary of the two. "What do you two really want to know?" She asked the girls. "Is there something on your mind?" Raye asked. "Or someone?" "No, not really." Rini replied. She looked downwards. "Except for..." "Yeah?" "I feel like there's something I should be doing right now." Rini said. The two girls, not getting it, decided that Rini needed help in getting a guy. Without Rini even talking, the two suggested that she write a song or a poem, or make "him" lunch, and shout out her love from the rooftops. Lita felt that one didn't need to do that at the very start, and Raye felt that the world should know about love. Even after Lita and Raye had released Rini, her troubles weren't over yet. Mina and Amy had cornered her, and were also trying to get her to tell them about a boyfriend or a new friend she might have. They started with ice cream, and decided it would be good to "talk like sisters". "What do you want?" Rini sighed. Mina wondered if there was someone new in Rini's life that needed to be announced. Amy added to it, asking if it was someone special. "Rini, what's he like?" Mina asked, prying. "I don't know if I should say." Rini said. "See, he isn't exactly like other people." "You think we'll judge him?" Mina asked. "Remember, if there's anyone who knows about being dimwits, it's us." "I have an idea." Amy ventured. "Why don't you describe him? See what happens." "'Kay!" Rini said excitedly. "He's white as the snow!" "The snow?" Mina repeated. "Even his hair?" Amy asked. Rini nodded, and they asked what else. "Does he have a nice face?" Mina asked. "Yeah!" Rini said. "It's pretty long, but soft and fuzzy." Amy and Mina looked at each other in confusion. "Soft and fuzzy?" Mina said, not quite ready for that twist. Rini giggled. "Big trouble." Mina whispered to Amy. "The kid's already old enough to shave. Unless he's a donkey face!" "Donkey face?" Amy said. "We said we wouldn't judge! I think the term is horse!" Mina told Amy to go on, and Amy didn't want to call anyone any names. Mina tried out a rather unflattering name, and Rini, hearing the two 'whisper', just sighed. With four girls down, Rini only had one more to go. Or so she thought. Darien treated her to a really expensive restaurant. Darien offered her anything on the menu that she wanted. Rini was excited. Meanwhile, the five girls were sitting at another table across the room. They hoped their plan to get Rini to tell about her new friend to Darien was going to work. Serena was of course, angry as possible that her daughter got a lunch at an expensive restaurant. The waiter came to take their orders, and the girls ordered drinks. Amy ordered an apple juice with two cherries. The others agreed that they needed to get closer to Rini to hear. Amy asked for an umbrella in her drink. "I wonder though." Darien said to Rini, finishing a bite. "How long will you be glad to have me as your lunch date?" "You'll always be my number one guy, Darien!" Rini said. Darien chuckled. "Thanks." He said. "But when you do meet that someone special, you'll let me know? I wanna meet him." Rini looked down at her plate, blushing. "I'd love to let you meet him." She said. "But, I can't." "Rini, is he your boyfriend?" Darien asked. As the two talked, they were the only ones who didn't notice a table, piano, painting, and a statue move towards them. At least, Darien seemed oblivious to it. "Daddykins?" Rini said, angrily. "Yes, Pumpkin?" "Is it me?" Rini wondered. "I feel as if somebody's spying on us." Indeed, someone was spying on them. The five girls, hidden behind a piano, table, statue, and painting had crowded around the table in a semiscircle, trying to listen in. With the jig up, the girls were promptly removed from the restaurant. The girls watched Rini from a distance as she stared angrily off a bridge. She had retreated to a park, and was watching the water quietly. The girls saw her a ways away, and were feeling really bad about not just asking Rini if she had a boyfriend. Rini wondered about the girls. Across the pond, on another bridge, a man was feeding fish. "Whoa!" Mina exclaimed. She pointed Raye to the guy feeding the fish. Amy looked. "No!" She said. "White as snow with a long face!" Sure enough, the man feeding the fish fit that description. He was dressed in white, had white hair, and a long horse-type face. JunJun arrived as well, finally catching up with her target. The girls were startled, knowing the green-clad acrobat anywhere. JunJun shot her billiard ball, and after quite a few well-placed bank shots, the ball struck her target in the back, and his Dream Mirror appeared. It wasn't a golden mirror. "Zirconia's such a twit!" JunJun said. "This is just another loser! I skipped my beauty sleep for this?! I'll unload an earful on him!" "Not before we unload on you!" A voice shouted. JunJun looked and saw that the source of the voice was none other than Sailor Moon. The Sailor Scouts all stood by her. "How dare you interfere with my daughter's true romance!" "Don't you know true love is something priceless?" Sailor Mars added. "And just because he's way too old, doesn't mean it won't work!" Jupiter shouted. "So his face is kind of fuzzy. It could work!" Sailor Venus shouted. Sailor Mini Moon looked at the girls in confusion. "She's just a kid!" Sailor Mercury shouted. "She doesn't need her heart broken!" Sailor Mini Moon fumed and yelled at the girls to stop talking about a non-existant romance, and to attack JunJun. "You won't get off the hook, creep! In the name of the Moon!" Shouted Sailor Moon and Mini Moon. JunJun just looked at the Sailor Scouts exasperated. She called her Remlis, BaguBagu. BaguBagu, a giant fish with spades down its sides, jumped into the air and swallowed the Dream Mirror. JunJun retreated, and BaguBagu leapt into the water. It swam quickly, and submerged itself. The Sailor Scouts looked all over for the Remlis, but found nothing. Suddenly, the fish leapt out of the water in front of them, and came crashing down on the wooden bridge. The Sailor Scouts ran to the other side, but the bridge flipped upward. Sailor Mini Moon started sliding down the bridge. Try as she might, she couldn't stay up. Before she could be swallowed though, a red flash of light erupted from nowhere, and a rose pinned the fish's mouth shut. Sailor Mini Moon, sliding down the wood slode with her eyes closed, was surprised to find the fish's giant maw closed. "Whenever evil tries to gobble love, I will make sure it flounders!" Tuxedo Mask shouted. Sailor Moon was elated to see Tuxedo Mask. "My friend, Pegasus!" Rini shouted. "Protect people's dreams!" "CRYSTAL TWINKLE BELL!" "MOON GORGEOUS MEDITATION!" The Remlis was destroyed, and the man's Dream Mirror was freed. When he had recovered, the man went back to feeding his fish. Rini was staring at the water, with the girls just behind her. "Cat's out of the bag, Rini." Raye said, smiling. "You don't have to pretend you don't know each other!" "What?" "Yeah, but I do want to have a talk with him!" Darien said. "Unless he's super tall for his age, I think he's too old for you!" "Oh, honeybunchkins, you know age doesn't matter at all!" Serena said. Darien wasn't convinced. "Back up!" Rini said. "I think you guys are confused!" "I knew it!" Lita said. "He's not her boyfriend! He's her new best friend!" "No he's not, he's Donkey Face!" Mina said. The guy did fit the description. Darien and the girls started talking and speculating, much to Rini's frustration. Finally, she screamed at the girls to be quiet. "If you think he's my boyfriend, you're wrong!" Rini said. "I have met someone special, kay?" "What's his name?" The chorus asked her. Rini paused for a moment. "Can't tell you." She said. The girls all sighed. Rini looked up to the sky, and couldn't help thinking of her time that previous night, and the time she loved Pegasus so much. To the Next episode |
