Episode title: Everything's Coming up Rosey

Original American Airdate: 07/06/2000

The girls were at Darien's place studying. Glad for the air conditioning, Serena lazed through most of the session. Mina yelled at Serena to wake up, and so did the other girls. Darien remarked that the girls aren't there for his help, but for the air conditioning.

"We like your herbalized tea, too." Raye said. She suddenly realized that it wasn't the thing to say.

Amy was admiring the myriad of books on Darien's shelves.

"I've always had many interests." Darien said. "And because of that, I can't seem to decide which one I want to study."

Lita leaned across the table at Darien. "You're like that saying!" She said. "Jerk of all trades, master of none, right?"

"Actually, Lita," he replied, "that's supposed to be 'Jack of all trades', not jerk." He pointed the girls back into the studying direction. Serena didn't want to study the particular subject, French, but Darien said that's why he wanted to study it. Just then, the doorbell rang. The door opened, and Serena beheld a fine gentlemen dressed in very expensive clothes.

"He's already got a subscription to the paper if that's what you want!" Serena said nervously.

"Ah, bonjour, madamemoiselle." The man said in a distinguishable French accent. Serena gaped

"Uh, I no speakie French!" She said. The man looked at her confused for a moment.

"Ah, I understand!" He said finally. "I see, you don't speak the French language. Could you please tell me if Darien is home right now?"

Serena scratched her head. "Yes, Darien's home right now." She said. "Can I ask who you are, mon senior?" She gasped. Wrong words. "So you do speak English!" She exclaimed. "You do surprise me!"

"Edward." Came Darien's voice. It was also in a French accent.

"Bonjour, Darien." The man said. "It's been a long time since I've seen you." The others peaked around the doorway of the main hall. "Bonjour, madamemoiselle." He said to them. They came out of their hiding place.

"Auchante." Mina said.

"Bonjour." Raye said.

"Auchante to make your acquaintance, sir." Amy said.

"Merci." Lita said cheerfully. The girls just sighed. Edward invited Darien to the party.

"I'm honored for the invite." Darien said.

"Well, I'm in the middle of my daily walk, so I'd better be on my way." Edward said. "I hope you'll be able to attend, Darien. And, of course, all you ladies are invited as well."

The girls said in chorus that they'd be there.

"Edward's a retired businessman from France who lives in the Rose Mansion." Darien explained. Serena was amazed at the house. Each of the girls had their own visions of the mansion; Raye thought the music and ballroom would be nice. Amy wanted to learn from other people. Serena just wanted to be in a romantic place with Darien.

"Do you happen to know which countries the students are from, Darien?" Amy asked. Serena, who was getting excited about her attending, was quickly brought down.

"Actually, this group's from France." He replied. All the girls gasped in chorus. "There's a large group from France this year, so we'd better get to work and bone up on our French."

"A romantic evening with Darien!" Serena said with stars in her eyes. She suddenly realized the downside. "Speaking French." Serena kept contemplating this concept in her own little world. The others just sighed in embarrassment.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tomo was explaining on the phone to Eudial that the waltz in triple measure represented intellect, culture, and aggressiveness. Eudial surmised that the next target should be someone who could waltz. She found Edward on her computer. Tomo put a record onto a victrola, and played it. Dr. Tomo laughed maniacally.

"That seems a tad loud. Is that supposed to be a waltz, doctor?" Eudial said, holding the reciever a few inches from her aching ear. She tried to get his attention, but Tomo had left the phone. She slammed the reciever down, and nervously awaited her Heart Snatcher. Tomo put the victrola in his oven device, and sent the Heart Snatcher to Eudial. Eudial went on her way, speeding out of a river.

That night, the girls had arrived at the ball in the Rose Mansion. The girls all looked eagerly at the guys in the room, and Serena looked more frightened than excited.

"You know what they say about French, Serena." Raye said. "It's supposed to be the language of love."

"Only if you can speak it!" Serena replied. Amy chimed in.

"Come on, Serena. It's a good opportunity for you to try it out, so give it a shot." She said.

Then, three men said hi and came up to Darien. Serena freaked, hoping she wouldn't have to speak French. The men asked for introductions, and the girls were apprehensive. Mina saw it was okay though, because the men spoke English well. The girls looked, and saw that Serena was suddenly gone. She was hidden behind a curtain, studying her French book. She looked back at her group and saw the girls talking in French. Exasperated, Serena grabbed a glass blindly behind her, and drank it down.

Two men were talking to Darien about their schoolwork. Amy looked about at all the people in the huge room, and remarked that they must have been honor students.

"Yes, they're all promising young people and our hope for the future." Edward said. "That's why I enjoy having these parties in my home every so often. To see young people like this enjoy themselves in my home with stimulating conversation, and a waltz or two, is my idea of a rosey evening."

"It sounds wonderful." Amy replied. "And I agree. An evening of intellect and culture is indeed rosey."

"I hope you will join them someday to make a bright future." Edward said.

"Oh, yes!" Amy said with stars in her eyes. Raye, Lita and Mina looked on in jealousy at Amy's confidence. Just then, Serena, with rosey cheeks and a very relaxed demeanor, walked up to Darien.

"Ah, yes!" Serena said. "The good ole' Pudding of Relativity! Lemme see... well, it's relative of course, but it's like: You mix eggs, milk and sugar together, then you must cover it up, and let it steam for about thirty minutes, but, don't let it get too much heat! And don't forget: Fresh cream, or it'll taste wrong. That's it!"

The two men Darien was talking to were impressed by Serena's analogy of food to Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Serena was overly glad that the two men spoke English, and shouted out so loudly that even Amy could hear. She knocked Darien over trying to get some sort of conversation started, but ended up rattling off a bunch of nonsensical French words. Darien was embarrassed beyond anything he'd ever known; the girls were just mortified. Edward caught Serena before she could fall, and asked Darien to escort her out.

Edward introduced the talent for that night: Amara Tenoh, and Michele Kaioh. The girls were excited to see their friends. Amy came up to them and whispered.

"Serena's sick." She said. The girls were shocked. They went to see Serena. The cause was too much juice.

Meanwhile, inside, Amara played the piano while Michele played her violin. Outside, Eudial had arrived in her car, dressed in a beautiful dress. She got out of her car, and prepared herself for her mission.

Inside, the girls accompanied Serena back into the ballroom. Serena had been feeling better. Amara and Michele walked up to the group and said hello.

"Wonderful party, isn't it?" Michele said. "Oh, they're playing a waltz now. Darien, please honor me with a dance."

Serena got intensely possessive, and disagreed before Darien could reply.

"Come on, then." Amara said. "Why don't I give you a lesson, and then you can have Darien."

Serena leapt at the chance, and she and Amara were dancing, and Serena was learning very quickly.

"So, you and Michele are actually champion ballroom dancers?" Serena said as they danced with fluidity. The others stared dumbfounded.

Amy said, "She's actually..."

"She's waltzing!" Mina said.

"I think Amara's a really good teacher." Lita added. Raye wanted lessons, but Lita wanted them first. Mina decided that they should settle it with Rock-Scissors-Paper. Amy sighed and moved away from the group while the girls tried to best each other at the game.

As Michele and Darien danced, Michele commented that Edward had put a lot of money into the school for scholarships and such. Darien explained that Edward was a very smart businessman who knew what to do on the market. All Edward believed in though, was money. Soon, Edward had found that money was empty, and put his money towards hopes and dreams.

"He has hopes and dreams." Michele said. "Sounds like a romantic. That's awfully generous of him to give so much. He must've made a lot of sacrifices to be that successful."

"I'm sure he did sacrifice a lot," Darien replied, "but he thought that it was all for nothing if there was no one to carry on his legacy. It's meaningless to be alone." Michele smiled at his words. Meanwhile, the girls were still trying to best each other at their game. They gave up and started fighting. They didn't notice Eudial's presence.

Serena and Amara had finished dancing, and the crowd around them started applauding them. The girls started asking Amara for dance lessons, and the guys wanted to dance with Serena. Serena broke out of the crowd, and looked to the side of the room to see the girls back into their Rock-Scissors-Paper game. Serena sidled up to them. She looked out on the dance floor and shrieked, seeing Darien dancing with someone, and Michele and Amara dancing together. Edward walked up to the dismayed girls, and offered them a tour. Their first stop: his favorite place in the house.

Edward took them to a balcony, which was surrounded on all sides by a flourish of red roses. The balcony also overlooked the entirety of Tokyo it seemed. The girls stared dreamily out into the night setting.

"I'm glad you like it." Edward said. "You see all of these roses? They symbolize the future, and how I'd like to see it evolve: Beautiful, peaceful, healthy, thriving. I think several of your futures will be rosey too."

Edward invited them back inside for tea and pastries, and Serena loved the idea. Raye growled at Serena. Lita bent and smelled the roses. The girls agreed that he had a passion for the future and a kind heart. They wanted the world to be like that.

Inside, Darien watched while a waiter opened a door. Smoke started to leak out from behind the door, but the waiter didn't seem to notice. Despite Darien's warning, smoke filled the room, rendering the entire crowd unconscious. Edward ran into the room, yelling at a woman to get out of the room. The woman turned around to reveal that she was wearing a gas mask. It was Eudial. She aimed her gun at Edward. Darien watched as Eudial fired her gun, and extracted Edward's Heart Crystal. Just then, the girls walked back to the ballroom, and noticed the smoke coming out of the ballroom. They looked inside and saw Eudial.

"NEPTUNE STAR POWER!"

"URANUS STAR POWER!"

"NEPTUNE DEEP SUBMERGE!"

Neptune's power missed Eudial, but knocked the Heart Crystal into Uranus' hands. Eudial called upon her Heart Snatcher. The Heart Snatcher didn't come out. She yelled at it to come out, and it stumbled out of the car in an elegant dress, and fell to the floor. Eudial sighed.

"What an entrance! Can I just go home now?" Eudial said.

"The party's just starting!" A voice shouted. It was Sailor Moon. "You can't just show up, make trouble and then leave before the clock chimes midnight! It's rude!"

"Besides, you're no Cinderella!" Sailor Mercury said.

"You're just a classless party crasher!" Said Sailor Mars.

"Everything was fine until your wickedness disrupted this happy occasion!" Shouted Jupiter. "But wicked never wins, just like in the stories of Snow White and Sleeping Beauty!"

"Evils the loser in Cinderella, Snow White, and what else?" Sailor Venus added.

"In all of them!" Sailor Moon said. Sailor Venus chuckled in embarrassment. "We will punish you!"

Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus found nothing in the Heart Crystal. Eudial retreated of course, leaving everything up to the Heart Snatcher. The Heart Snatcher held out a rose blossom in its hand, and it glowed blue with energy. The blossom glided towards the Sailor Scouts and exploded when it hit the ground. The Sailor Scouts dodged it. The Heart Snatcher shot an energy beam and hit Sailor Moon, knocking her to the ground. Uranus and Neptune returned Edward's Heart Crystal to him, just as the Heart Snatcher was getting ready to attack again.

"WORLD SHAKING!"

Uranus' power hit the Heart Snatcher hard, smashing its mask and ripping its dress to shreds. Uranus and Neptune left. The Heart Snatcher wasn't done, however. It's dress gone, its shoulder was visible, and it had a large victrola on it. It turned a crank on its hip, and music started blaring from the victrola. Large musical notes were shot from it, and the Sailor Scouts were able to dodge the attacks. The Heart Snatcher put another record on its turntable, and played a loud, blaring noise that made the Scouts cover their ears. As the Heart Snatcher continued playing, a red light flashed downwards. The record broke. Everyone looked to see Tuxedo Mask.

"The purpose of music is to give pleasure, not to give pain!" He said. "I won't tolerate anyone who dares to mock the fine art of music!"

The Heart Snatcher threw the arm with its megaphone on it at Tuxedo Mask and missed. Sailor Moon stepped forward.

"MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!"

The victrola returned to normal, and smashed to pieces on the ground. The Daimon pod came out of it and broke too.

The girls had reverted back to their normal forms, and the people in the room slowly began to recover.

"Did I miss anything" Edward asked. "Have I been asleep?"

"Oh believe me, you didn't miss a thing." Amy replied. The girls watched in dismay as Serena and Darien waltzed across the dance floor. Mina looked around, hoping Amara could teach them. Lita wondered who should go first. Outside, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus were in a tree talking to each other.

"Having hope for a peaceful and good future, and entrusting that dream to the next generation is an idea I really haven't thought of." Neptune said.

Uranus looked in at the girls, once again immersed in their game. "And maybe nobody's dreams will be realized." She said. "The deadly Silence is drawing too near. We must find those crystals to insure the legacy of people's hopes and dreams."
