Sailor Moon Episode 102

Episode title: No Turning Back

Late one night, Eudial called Tomo with some news about the Purity Chalice.

"Our latest data shows a Human shadow overlapping the Chalice." Eudial said. "I'm not sure what to make of it."

Dr. Tomo suddenly became sure that someone else was coming close to uncovering the Purity Force. Eudial was shocked that it wasn't them. Tomo told Eudial that his first plan, once they gained the Chalice. He laughed maniacally, so much so that he cracked the receiver on his phone.

"So Doctor, should we find out who's behind this shadow, or do we keep heart snatching?" Eudial asked.

"We keep heart snatching to find the pure crystals." Tomo responded. "And those..."

"...Will lead us to the Purity Chalice. We just have to move faster. By the way, it sounds as if you damaged the phone. I'm afraid we'll have to charge you for that."

Tomo simply thought that the Sailor Scouts were going to pay for it.

At Raye's, Serena's growth in her studies was starting to show. She had been timed while doing a math problem. She completed it in just under a half hour. She was very proud of herself for her accomplishment, and so were her friends. That is, until Amy pointed out that her answer was wrong. Serena bawled her eyes out. Mina patted her on the shoulder.

"Oh come on, Serena." She said. "Don't cry. At least you put down an answer this time."

"But I'm not brilliant!" Serena cried.

"That's not news." Raye said. Serena cried. Amy and Lita both agreed with Mina; Serena was getting closer to success.

"No!" Serena cried. "I'm never going to get it right! I'll never pass these awful tests!"

Raye yelled at Serena for whining about a test, when the pain of Heart Snatchers is so much more than that. Serena decided to give the problem one more try. Mina stood there in silence for a second.

That evening, when the study session had ended, Mina sat dejected on a swing. Artemis came to her and asked her what was wrong.

"Because, the Heart Snatchers have gone after Serena, Amy, Lita, and Raye." She replied.

"Yes they have," Artemis said, "but everyone's okay now."

"Everyone except me." Mina replied. "Guess I am the total reject that none of the Heart Snatchers even want."

"You think they have pure hearts and you don't?" He said. Mina shot him a glare. "Um, um, which is a totally ridiculous idea!" He stammered.

"Maybe it's because I'm neglecting volleyball." Mina said. "They think my heart is out of shape and out of pure enthusiasm."

"You want your heart snatched?" Artemis said in surprise. "You think it'll prove your heart's worthy?"

"I don't know." Mina sighed. She decided to go to a gymnasium to get started on her volleyball. She served every ball she could across the court with supreme power, accuracy, and speed. Her hand turned scarlet by the time she was finished. When all the balls had been served, she looked at the door and saw Serena's injured body on the ground. She gasped and ran to her.

"Let's just say I didn't get out of its way fast enough." Serena said. "But don't worry! My ears will quit ringing soon enough!" She had large pink spots on her face.

"What are you doing here?" Mina asked.

"Cheer up stuff." Serena said. Luna and Artemis appeared from their hiding place behind Serena. Serena said that Artemis told her about Mina's depression, and Mina laughed it off. She suddenly seemed quite angry when she said she wouldn't let jealous take up her time. She and Serena left the gym and had gone to a crane game on the street.

"Are you sure you're not upset, Mina?" Serena said.

"Mmm hmm. Positive."

"You don't want your heart snatched anymore?"

"Whoever said I did?"

"A little birdy with white fur and droopy whiskers." Luna said.

"You see?" Serena said to Luna. "I told you nobody wished to have their heart snatched."

"Unless that nobody had a pure heart that was overlooked!" Mina growled. "A heart that negative forces would love to have because it's totally dedicated and pure and good!"

Serena waved her hand in Mina's face to snap her out of her little trance. Mina came to and faced Serena. Luna said that Mina couldn't convince the Heart Snatchers to take her Heart Crystal. Serena shook Mina around telling her that having a heart snatched was not a good feeling. As she shook Mina against the crane machine, the crane had ended up picking up a bunch of the dolls inside. The girls were amazed at their luck. Mina collected her prizes and continued on her way.

"You know Mina, the Heart Snatchers have one thing going for them." Luna said. "And that's their ability to see purity in many different lights. Like Serena, for example. Her purity is that she's a goof off. She purely loves to eat, sleep, and make goo goo eyes at Darien." Serena glared at Luna from behind her. "But, she's not a pure brain," Luna continued, "or purely unselfish, or purely coordinated."

Serena groaned to herself.

Artemis added, "So, just because the Heart Snatchers haven't targeted you doesn't mean you're not worthy."

"I really don't care whether they come or not." Mina said. Artemis asked if she was sure. She said she was. "Serena," she said, "can I ask you a favor?"

"Sure, what?"

"Can you take half these toys?"

"Are you kidding? My mother would just make me dust them every Saturday with the rest of my room!" Serena said, giggling. Mina gave her a serious look.

"But, giving is a sign of pure unselfishness." Mina said. Serena and the two cats gaped at her in shock. Serena declined her offer.

After Mina and Serena had parted ways, Mina was looking through the shelves of a bookstore for a particular book. She found it and began reading it. She didn't notice Serena and the cats watched silently outside.

"A pure heart is one that can be completely absorbed in something. If a pure heart is dedicated and focused, it is determined to what it percieves to be good and worthwhile."

Well, I'm all of those things. Mina thought to herself. What does it take to get heart snatched?

Just then, she looked up and spotted Amara and Michele looking at books nearby. Amara and Michele felt something rush through them like a cold breeze when they saw Mina put the book she had read back onto the shelf. Mina asked them what they thought made a person have a pure heart.

"Do you hear what I heard?" Amara said quietly.

"You think she knows about the Purity Force?" Michele asked. Mina looked at them intently, which startled the two. She asked them how a person with a pure heart should behave.

"Why else would they be targets?" Amara said. Mina started, and Michele corrected Amara, saying that pure-hearted people often help others. Mina had an idea. Luckily for her, a blood drive was going on, and the car announcing it was just outside. She ran to the stand, ready to give her blood.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tomo phoned Eudial, wondering about their next target. Eudial had it, and Tomo attempted to make his next Heart Snatcher. He was trying to fit a door into his oven device, but it couldn't fit. He sawed off the door, and put the doorknob in. He created the Heart Snatcher, and sent Eudial on her way. In the meantime, Mina gave her blood, thinking only that she was going to be targeted.

Serena was with Darien at a park, expressing her worry for Mina. Darien told her to go tell Mina about her worries. Mina was running around cheering that she had given blood, while the cats, accompanied by Lita, Amy and Raye, watched from the bushes. Luna suggested intervention, while Artemis said he had a plan to monitor Mina twenty four hours a day, much to everyone's shock. Michele and Amara watched from nearby. Serena ran up to Mina, saying she wanted to talk to her. Serena and Mina walked together.

"So what do you want to talk about?" Mina asked. "You having trouble with Darien?"

"No." Serena said. "I wanted to talk about you, actually. About your quest for purity."

Down the street, Eudial pulled up to the street corner in her car, and spied her target. Mina was walking down the street, drinking small vitamin C bottles. Eudial pointed her gun, and shot. Mina's Heart Crystal came out almost instantly.

"Did the Heart Snatchers get you?" Serena asked, running to Mina. Mina grabbed her Heart Crystal and held it tightly.

"I got a Pure Heart!" Mina said, laughing happily. "Do you see?"

"Mina, don't run!" Serena said. "They're really fragile. Let's just put it back in you, okay?"

Mina offered no response. Suddenly, she ran off, with Serena, Eudial, Amara, Michele, Luna, Artemis and the girls on pursuit. The girls and cats didn't get far, as they fell on the Vitamin C bottles. Mina ran into an underground parking lot. Eudial followed her in, where she saw Mina on the ground, fainted. Before she could grab the Heart Crystal, Serena came in and told her to hold it.

Eudial sent out her Heart Snatcher. It's two appendages were a key switcher and a door. Eudial ordered the Heart Snatcher to seal the exits. Amara and Michele managed to get into the door covering the entrance just in time. Serena and Eudial spotted them. Eudial just smirked and went to claim the Heart Crystal. Serena thought to herself that she couldn't transform in front of everyone, but she had to save Mina. Amara knew that she and Michele couldn't transform. Before Eudial could get the Heart Crystal, Serena shouted out.

"MOON COSMIC POWER!"

Amara and Michele were amazed that Serena was Sailor Moon, and so was Eudial. Eudial ordered the Heart Snatcher to attack, but the Heart Snatcher backed off, not wanting to fight. Eudial ordered the Heart Snatcher to fight again, so it did. In seconds, Sailor Moon was trapped. Eudial went to get Mina's Heart Crystal, but Michele and Amara threw their dolls at her, knocking it out of her hand.

"NEPTUNE STAR POWER!"

"URANUS STAR POWER!"

Sailor Moon was simply shocked. Uranus and Neptune didn't have time to acknowledge it.

"URANUS WORLD SHAKING!"

The power of Uranus' attack knocked Eudial out of the way, while Neptune grabbed the Heart Crystal. It wasn't the one they were looking for, so she returned it to Mina. Suddenly, from outside, loud noises were heard. It was the other Sailor Scouts trying to break the door down, but to no avail.

"NEPTUNE DEEP SUBMERGE!"

The Heart Snatcher was hit hard by the attack, and the Heart Snatcher groveled at Eudial's feet. Eudial just shrugged it off and Sailor Moon was freed.

"MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!"

Eudial fired her gun back at Sailor Moon's attack, and the two powers clashed brightly. Sailor Moon's power was deflected. The Heart Snatcher was destroyed, leaving only a doorknob and a broken Daimon pod. Eudial pointed her gun at Mina, and told the Sailor Scouts to group together. She aimed her gun at the Sailor Scouts, ready to fire. Suddenly, Mina hit her with a bunch of the dolls.

"VENUS STAR POWER!"

Sailor Venus appeared, in front of everyone, ready and determined.

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN ENCIRCLE!"

Venus' chain knocked Eudial's gun out of her hands. Eudial beat a hasty retreat. Sailor Moon asked Uranus and Neptune about their mission, but they offered no answer. They simply left, the Sailor Scouts wondering if they had a new enemy.
