Sailor Moon Episode 106

Episode title: Rini's Risky Friendship

One night, Serena and Rini were bathing together. Rini was singing a tune while she bathed, and Serena could barely help but notice.

"Hey, what's up, Rini?" Serena asked. "You seem extra cheerful tonight."

"Well, I suppose it's because I made a new friend." Rini said, beaming with happiness.

"Really?" Serena said, smiling. "Tell me, Rini. Is it a 'she' friend, or a 'he' friend?" She looked at Rini with a sly face. Rini didn't want to tell, so Serena squirted her with water. Rini jumped on Serena and dunked her in the water.

Meanwhile, Darien was standing outside in the night. He was on a strait, surrounded by water. It was in a park in Tokyo. He walked towards the end of the strait.

"We've been expecting you, Darien." A voice said. "Or should I say, King Darien?"

Darien looked and saw three forms: Michele, Amara, and Trista. "So, you're the Sailor Scouts from the Silver Millenium, is that right?" He asked.

"Yes." Trista replied. "But, we've also been sent from the future."

"URANUS STAR POWER!"

"NEPTUNE STAR POWER!"

"PLUTO STAR POWER!"

Without words, Darien transformed into Tuxedo Mask. The three Sailor Scouts began to approach him.

"Star of Wind, Uranus is my guardian! I am Sailor Uranus!"

"Star of Sea, Neptune is my guardian! I am Sailor Neptune!"

"Star of Lone World, Pluto is my guardian! I am Sailor Pluto!"

"We're known as the Sailor Scouts of the Outer solar system." Sailor Uranus said.

"Outer Solar System?" Tuxedo Mask asked. Pluto nodded.

"That's right." Sailor Pluto said. "Hear me out. First of all, our powers are much stronger than those of the other Sailor Scouts. Long long ago, our mission was to protect the Silver Millenium from any enemies invading from outside the solar system."

"But before we completed that mission fighting the hideous enemy, they disappeared." Uranus said. "Then we found the enemy was on this planet."

"We're to blame for the enemy's successful invasion here on earth because we weren't there to stop it." Neptune added.

"And, you're referring to the Heart Snatchers, of course." Tuxedo Mask said. "But I can't understand why you don't cooperate with Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Scouts."

"Because they would just get in our way." Uranus replied.

"Sailor Moon can't do it." Neptune added. "This battle's beyond her skills, and those of the other Sailor Scouts."

"The Heart Snatchers are considered the most powerful and formidable of all enemies." Uranus said. "Destroying them is our mission."

Tuxedo Mask stood his ground that night, as he spoke with the Outer Sailor Scouts.

"What?" Lita said, as she, Amy and Mina climbed the steps to Raye's house one afternoon. "Rini talked to you guys for advice too?"

"Yeah." Mina replied. "She said that she's going to her friend's house for the first time, and she needed help."

Mina recalled herself giving Rini tips on what to wear to her friend's place.

"She asked me for advice on what to give her for a present." Amy said.

Amy thought back to her suggesting Rini get her friend a book for a gift.

"I think she's way obsessed about impressing her friend, don't you think?" Mina said.

"She told me her friend is quiet and goes to a different school." Said Amy.

"I was baking when she came over." Lita said.

Lita remembered when she offered some of her newly baked cookies to Rini to take to her friend's.

"If I would've known in advance, I wouldn't have made cookies shaped like lips." Lita said. "What's this new boy gonna think, huh?" Lita suddenly stopped, when she realized that Amy and Mina weren't beside her anymore. She looked behind her and saw Mina and Amy whispering to each other that Lita was crazy.

"Hi guys." Raye said, with an extremely annoyed look on her face. "Rini talked me too."

Raye thought back to Rini's visit, where Rini had asked to learn some manners. Serena burst out of Raye's room, and bent Raye over, saying that she'd teach Rini how to be a lady. Raye told Serena she had to stay and do her schoolwork. Serena distracted Raye, and while Raye was distracted, took Rini and ran for Rini's friend's house. Mina, Lita and Amy just groaned.

Meanwhile, Serena and Rini were out shopping for Rini's friend. Rini asked Serena if she had to come along, and Serena wanted to see Rini's new friend.

"I should know who all your friends are!" Serena said.

"My friend is nice!" Rini said defensively. "Doesn't look that healthy."

Serena imagined Rini's friend to be an ill, cute young boy. She thought it sweet that she was taking care of someone like that. "Why not introduce me to your friend as your guardian?" Serena asked.

"My guardian, that's funny." Rini sneered.

Meanwhile, the Sovereign of Silence sat upon her throne. Behind it was a gigantic pile of dolls and toys. Dim lights turned on and shone on the toys as Dr. Tomo entered the room.

"Great Sovereign of Silence," he began, "the time of awakening is drawing near."

"In order to perform the task you're requesting, I will require stronger energy." The Sovereign said.

"As you wish." Replied Tomo. "In my laboratory, I've devised a method of converting perfect Heart Crystals of humans into the energy you need. I hope you find it satisfactory."

Meanwhile, Serena and Rini arrived at Rini's friend's house. Serena gaped at the absolute size of the house. They walked up to the porch, and Rini tried to ring the bell. Before Serena could do it for her, the door opened, with a dark form standing behind it. The door opened more, and there stood none other than Serena's old foe, Kaorinite. Serena stared in shock and fear at the sight of her once dead foe standing before her.

"Serena, look what you've done!" Rini suddenly cried out. Serena snapped back to reality. Rini was on the floor picking up the cookies she dropped.

"May I ask who you are, girls?" Kaorinite said. Just then, a man came to the door, wondering who the visitor was. It was Hotaru's father.

"Oh, you're Hotaru's friend, aren't you?" He said when he saw Rini.

"Oh, I didn't know." Kaorinite said. The man invited Serena and Rini inside, and asked Kaorinite to show them to the family room. He went down the hall to prepare some cocoa for them. Serena noticed that Kaorinite didn't seem evil, so she went with her and Rini to the family room. Meanwhile, Hotaru's father went down a hall, and into his lab. He dawned his lab coat.

mimet was in the Witches 5 lab, reading a romance novel, crying her eyes out. A phone call came in, and she answered it. It was Dr. Tomo, wondering if she had found a new target. She realized that she hadn't, so she frantically searched around the room for a makeshift target. She chose the author of her novel. Tomo was pleased, and even more pleased that the cocoa he made in his beaker turned out perfectly. He created a Heart Snatcher, and sent mimet on her way.

According to a flyer she had gotten, mimet's target was doing a book signing at a book store. She went down to the store early, and was at the front of the line. She got her book signed, and prepared herself for her mission mentally.

Meanwhile, Serena and Rini were sitting on the couch, waiting for the arrival of Hotaru. Unbeknownst to them, Hotaru was struggling down the hallway, panting, and in pain. Serena and Rini shot up into a polite sitting position as the door opened, and out came a smiling Hotaru.

"Hey, how ya doin', Rini?" Hotaru said. Rini said a cheerful hi.

"Your friend is a girl?!" Serena asked, amazed.

Rini shot Serena a sly look. "Whoever said it would be otherwise, hmm?" She said. Serena growled. Hotaru approached the couch.

"Is she your sister?" Hotaru asked.

"This is my cousin, Serena." Rini replied. "She tagged along to spy on me today, because she thought my friend was going to be a boy."

Serena and Rini started arguing, and Hotaru started to giggle. The two stopped fighting.

"I'm sorry for laughing." Hotaru said, wiping a tear from her eye. "It's nice of you to come. I'm Hotaru Tomo."

"Oh, thank you." Serena said. "It's nice to meet you, Hotaru." She and Rini sat back down on the couch politely.

"I'm sorry I kept you guys waiting so long." Hotaru apologized. "Would you guys like to come see my room?" She turned to show the girls to her room, but stopped and gasped when she saw Kaorinite in the doorway.

"Oh, that's fine, I'll just take this to your room." Kaorinite said. "Is that okay?"

"No thanks." Hotaru said with a contemptable look. "Why don't you just mind your own business, Kaorinite?" Hotaru took the tray with the cocoa and cups, and went to her room. Serena and Rini went with her, after exchanging confused looks.

"I'm sorry." Hotaru said. "Dad's a scientist, and he's working on some big project. She comes to help, but I don't really care for her."

"Where's your mom, Hotaru?" Asked Serena. Hotaru stopped in her tracks for a moment.

"She died many years ago." Hotaru said. Serena gasped, embarrassed at herself for her question.

"I'm so sorry." Serena said. Hotaru turned to her and smiled.

"Oh, it's okay." She said. "Now, why don't you tell me all about yourself, Rini?"

Hotaru opened the door, and Rini was amazed at the sight. The room was dark, except for a large collection of lamps, that were placed all around the room. Lamps adorned the walls, the nightstand, the shelves, everything it seemed. Rini enjoyed the atmosphere. Suddenly, Hotaru collapsed, and Serena was trying to help her up.

"Don't worry, please." Hotaru said. "I was just a little dizzy. I think I should be alright now." She looked up at Rini, who was looking at her, very confused and scared. Hotaru's smile was soft, and she glanced around a moment, and caught a glimpse of Serena's transformation brooch. She picked it up. It glowed, and suddenly, Hotaru started feeling better. Suddenly, Hotaru's eyes seemed to change, and so did her voice, as if she was going into a trance.

"Power is arising within me." She said in her new voice. "Power is arising within me!"

"Hotaru?" Rini said. Hotaru snapped out of her trance.

"Sorry, did I say anything just now?" Hotaru asked. Rini looked at Serena, confused. "I know I'm a little odd sometimes." Hotaru said, ashamed.

"You're just not well." Rini said. Serena reminded Rini that Hotaru had presents coming to her. Rini opened her present, and showed her the two volumes of a book series. A piece of paper fell to the ground, and Serena read it. It said that the author of the books, Michael Henry Clark, was supposed to have a book signing. Hotaru smiled to herself as Serena and Rini argued about the book and the signing.

Meanwhile, at the store, Michael Henry Clark was finished his book signing, and going to his car. Just then, a voice called out to him. He looked and saw mimet, still in her street disguise.

"Mr. Clark, I just can't thank you enough for autographing my book!" mimet said.

"Oh, not at all." Clark said.

"Actually, I would like to ask you for one more little thing, if I may." mimet said. "It's just your heart, sir!"

With that, mimet threw off her disguise, and sent the Heart Snatcher after Michael. It tackled Michael onto the seat of his car, and tried to get his Heart Crystal out like mimet's first Heart Snatcher did. In the meantime, Serena, Rini and Hotaru were going to the bookstore, hoping they hadn't missed the signing.

"Are you okay, Hotaru?" Rini asked as Hotaru staggered a bit.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Hotaru said.

"You don't have to apologize!" Rini said with a smile. "We're friends now, aren't we?"

Hotaru smiled softly at Rini. Rini looked and saw Serena staring in shock at something. What Serena was looking at was a Heart Snatcher trying to take out Michael's Heart Crystal by vacuuming it out of his mouth. Serena told Rini to take care of Hotaru. Rini took Hotaru away from the sight.

"MOON COSMIC POWER!"

The Heart Snatcher succeeded in getting Michael's Heart Crystal. Then, a voice rang out.

"Give it back! How dare you steal the words of a cute and talented young writer! Especially before I've gotten his autograph! I'm Sailor Moon, and in the name of all readers, I shall punish you!"

mimet, unimpressed, sent the Heart Snatcher to attack Sailor Moon. Very much like a previous monster, the Heart Snatcher threw razor sharp papers at Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon was able to dodge them, but ended up falling to the ground. The Heart Snatcher trapped Sailor Moon with a giant piece of paper, and got ready to cut Sailor Moon to ribbons.

"PLUTO DEADLY SCREAM!"

The power of Pluto's energy sphere smashed the Heart Snatcher, injuring it greatly.

"This is our business, we'll take it from here." Uranus said, freeing Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon thanked them. "You should leave here quickly, Sailor Moon." Uranus said. mimet, in the meantime, blinked in confusion at the sudden array of Sailor Scouts.

"You're not going to swarm us again, are you?" mimet cried.

"DEEP SUBMERGE!"

The Heart Snatcher was able to block Neptune's power.

"I thought I told you to go!" Uranus said to Sailor Moon.

"But why?" Sailor Moon replied. The Heart Snatcher hurled sharpened spear-like pencils, but Pluto blocked them with her key staff. "Answer me, Uranus!" Sailor Moon said. "We're all Sailor Scouts!"

"You're in the way!" Uranus yelled. The Heart Snatcher threw more razor sharp papers at the Sailor Scouts.

"URANUS WORLD SHAKING!"

Uranus' attack smashed the papers, and dissolved them. The Heart Snatcher dashed through the power, and raised to strike down Sailor Uranus and Sailor Moon.

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN HARNESS!"

Sailor Venus' Love Chain flew through the air and caught the Heart Snatcher's arm before it could move. She hauled the Heart Snatcher to the ground. mimet looked around to see Sailor Venus, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter and Sailor Mercury. Tuxedo Mask arrived behind the Outer Sailor Scouts.

"Uranus, Neptune, Pluto." Tuxedo Mask said. "Individually, our powers may not match the strength of your superior powers, but once they're deployed together, they will prove more than helpful."

Sailor Uranus, whether in realization or denial, simply chose to ignore Tuxedo Mask's words. mimet ordered the Heart Snatcher to take care of the Sailor Scouts, but there were too many. The Heart Snatcher was also out of weapons. While they were arguing, Tuxedo Mask told Sailor Moon to get ready.

"MOON CRISIS POWER!"

"RAINBOW MOON HEART ACHE!"

mimet retreated as the Heart Snatcher was destroyed. When the Daimon pod came out of the page of paper it was in, the paper was a comic strip detailing the defeat of the Heart Snatcher. Michael's Heart Crystal was also freed. Michael's Heart Crystal returned to him, and Sailor Moon thanked her friends.

"Don't think I'll forget that you missed today's study session, Missy!" Sailor Mars growled through gritted teeth. Sailor Moon timidly said she wouldn't. The girls were worried about Rini and Hotaru. Tuxedo Mask looked at the Outer Scouts, and they said nothing.

That night, Serena and Rini were bathing together.

"So, you went to the arcade center." Serena said.

"Yeah, we did!" Rini said. "And, I had a really good time. So did Hotaru! She said she'd never been to one before!"

"I'll bet as the day went on, you forgot we were fighting, didn't ya?" Serena teased. Rini stuck her tongue out at her. "She seems to have a pretty complicated home life, but she's a nice girl anyway, I guess."

"Yes." Rini said with a wide smile. "I think we could become really good friends."
