Sailor Moon Episode 107

Episode title: Mimet's Mess

Original American Airdate: 07/14/2000

The darkness around the Sovereign of Silence was cold and heartless. The Sovereign herself wanted the energy of Heart Crystals. Dr. Tomo promised that he and his assistants were working hard to get the Sovereign as much energy as they could. Meanwhile, Mimet was dancing in front of her computer to a song on the radio. The song was called "Blue Crisis Love" by the latest new artist, Jonah Araki. Mimet blushed at the telivision screen her computer had become, when it showed Jonah on the screen.

At Raye's house, the girls were watching the same broadcast that Mimet was watching. The girls were all talking, except Mina, who stared dreamily at the television. The girls quieted down when Jonah spoke on the television, saying he loved the reaction the fans were giving him.

"Whoa, somebody loves his love tune." Serena said. "Mina, you in there?"

Mina suddenly snapped to reality.

"You need to take five now?" Serena asked. Mina quickly denied it, and said she wanted to study.

"You look like you're ready to study how to be a Jonahmaniac." Raye remarked with a smirk.

"Wow!" Mina replied. "Can you do that?"

"No, because you must focus your ener..." Artemis began. He stopped when Mina shoved him to the floor.

"I told you about Artemis' laryngitis!" Mina said. "He's not allowed to talk. Anyway, I just think he's gorgeous. It's not like I wanna marry him!"

On the TV, Jonah announced that he was going to star in a movie, and there was going to be a contest to choose the leading lady. While nobody was looking, Mina recorded the time, date and location of the contest.

"See you soon!" Jonah said.

"See you now." Mina muttered. The TV turned off and the girls stared at Mina. Mina said that she might go, but needed help on a problem first.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tomo was doing some balancing on a scale in his lab.

"We have a slight problem, Mimet." He said, standing up. "The Sovereign of Silence wants her Purity. I hope you have a sure-fire Heart Snatching plan ready."

Mimet began to tell Dr. Tomo about her plan, but suddenly dropped the things she was carrying. Most of the things had Jonah Araki's face on them.

"I brought a few pictures of the new target as well!" Mimet lied sheepishly, holding up a poster of Jonah. She told him that since Jonah had such a pure singing talent, that he had to have a pure heart.

"A singer, is he?" Dr. Tomo said. "Why is it that your targets seem to be well-known young men who are rather easy on the eyes, Mimet? I hope you're not choosing your victims for their looks, because I believe in the scientific method of mayhem!"

Mimet agreed, though falling into despair. She sank to her kness sadly. She said it was just a coincidence that they were cute.

"Anyway, I believe his heart will prove useful to us." Mimet said. "He has such high energy, and charisma, and stage, and surely his heart must be full of that as well." She looked at the ground sadly. "I only try to find the hearts that are best for our sovereign, sir." She began to sob. "But if you think ill of me, I'll just drop out." She began to cry. It was pretend to her, but Dr. Tomo fell for it, and comforted her. He sent Mimet to work, and looked at Jonah in a magazine. He laughed hysterically into the darkness.

The next day, Lita, Serena, Raye and Amy were studying, minus Mina. Artemis came in looking for Mina, and the girls said she'd gone home feeling sick. Artemis knew where Mina was.

Mina arrived at the building where the auditions were held. She asked a woman at a table where to go to meet Jonah, and the woman said Jonah wouldn't be there until the finals.

"Tomorrow? That can't be!" A voice said. Mina turned around and saw a woman dressed in the same Jonah t-shirt that she had. "I planned on having him to myself today! After all, I am his biggest fan." The woman continued. It was Mimet in disguise.

"You wish!" Mina shot.

"I don't wish." Mimet shot back. "I know I am!"

The two girls stared each other down. When they grabbed each other's shirts, they realized that they both owned the same shirt from the same tour. The girls stopped fighting, and introduced themselves. Mimet introduced herself as Mimi. Then, an announcement came over the PA system, telling everyone to get ready.

Later, Mina was upon the stage in front of the judges. She was dressed in her bathing suit.

"Hello, my name is Mina, and I'm finishing up Junior High." Mina said. "I love volleyball, and music and movies."

"There's a part in the movie that involves lots of tears and sobbing." One of the judges said. "Could you do it?"

"Sure, no problem." Mina replied. "I just put a bunch of onions in my pocket, and take a big whiff before the scene." The judges laughed at her answer.

"And what about love?" Another judge asked. "Do you think you could pretend you're in love with Jonah? Someone you don't know?"

"That's a real piece of cake. Everyone's in love with him." Mina replied with a smile. "I can give you puppy dog eyes and everything. Problem is, I don't know if I could get out of character."

The judges all snickered at Mina's answer. Next, it was Mimet's turn. Mimet was timid and scared, and stuttering whenever she spoke. One of the judges asked her why she turned up for this particular role.

"Oh, um... I don't know." Mimet replied. She couldn't find an answer, and the judge told her to take her time. When Mimet failed to put together a complete answer, the judges ended the audition.

Later, the judges announced the five finalists. Among the five, amazingly enough, were Mina and Mimet.

After the announcement of the finalists, Mimet returned to her locker room at the Witches 5 (Now Witches 4) laboratory.

"I'm so close." She said to herself. "So close." She imagined a large crowed in a stadium, packed to the seams with adoring fans. In the back she saw Dr. Tomo. She thanked him for coming, and he came up to her and said he was worrying about her. She came back to reality when she realized Dr. Tomo really was there, and was checking her forehead for a fever. He told her he wanted to keep her healthy for the mission.

Mimet opened her locker. "I totally blanked on my real mission." She said to herself. "I've got to forget about Jonah's perfect face, and velvet voice, and get that heart from him." She threw her duffel bag into her locker and closed it. "But if I make off with his heart, who'll we drool over?" She wondered. "Who'll make my heart go pitter-pat with his love songs? It'll be such a shame. And, my big chance to become a movie star will be lost cause they'll cancel the shoot for sure! I won't get to see my name in lights." She sank to her knees, depressed. "But if I don't go through with this heart snatching, Tomo will think I'm a traitor. I'll be forever banned from the Bureau of Bad Behavior." She sobbed quietly, remembering Tomo's words about him wanting her to be healthy, and Mina's words about the best Jonah fan winning. She stood up, and resolved to let the Bureau of Bad Behavior take a back seat while she pursued her dreams.

Meanwhile, Jonah was on the stage, telling the audience that the next round would be decided by them. The winner would be the girl who got at least 80% on the audience meter. The final auditions began. As Mina walked backstage, she heard a cat's meowing. She looked up and Artemis jumped down on her shoulder. He asked her why she was being so secretive.

"Because, I knew you guys would try to talk me out of it, and tell me it's a complete waste of time." Mina replied. Just then, the audience applauded for the girl onstage, but she didn't get 80%. The next contestant went out on the stage, and Mina prepared herself mentally. Just then, Mimet, also known as Mimi, walked in, preparing herself for her audition. Mimet seemed very nervous, yet determined. The girl onstage didn't get 80%, and Mina was sent out. She walked to the microphone.

"Hello, everybody." Mina said into the microphone clearly. "I just wanted to say that if you vote for me, I promise to do my best to learn how to act so I don't totally stink in the movie."

Meanwhile, Amara, Michele and Trista were watching the show from one of the exits.

"Cute." Michele remarked.

"I don't think she'll win though." Amara said with a smirk. Mina finished her speech, and the crowd applauded. She didn't quite get 80%, but was only two notches away on the applause meter. Mina wished Mimet good luck as she went backstage. She thought that it was too bad that she didn't win.

"But at least I get to say we were on the same stage." Mina said to herself.

"The pleasure was all mine." A voice said. Mina looked to the source of the voice, and there was Jonah Araki. "I'm sure you'd make it in showbiz if you really want." Jonah said.

"Oh, I don't really." Mina replied. "I just wanted to meet you, because I'm a huge fan."

"Thanks a lot." Jonah said to the fiercely blushing Mina. "But I'm sure you'll forget me soon. I'm sure all the fans will forget me someday. Being a star is such a fleeting and fragile thing. I won't be sorry or sad when it happens, though, cause I'll never lose the magic of feeling all that love, you know? It completely fills up my heart and soul, and I've tried to give it back to all those who've supported me. If it ends tomorrow, I'll still be the luckiest guy ever. But I'd rather not end my career without this movie." Mina and Jonah looked out on stage at Mimet.

Mimet gave her speech, and the audience voted. The meter climbed up past the 80% mark. Mimet was elated, happier than she'd ever been in her life. The audience all gasped. Suddenly, the meter dropped to just below 80%. It was counted as the final tally. Mimet fell to the ground in pain and shock. Mina ran up to Mimet to comfort her, but Mimet pushed Mina away. Mimet shrieked, and in a blinding flash of light, Mimi became Mimet. She opened her briefcase, and released her Heart Snatcher. The Heart Snatcher wore a cape that said "STAR" inside it, and it sang. Mimet held up a staff she was holding.

"Charm Buster!"

Mimet's staff shot waves of energy at the crowd, keeping them at bay. Mimet ordered the Heart Snatcher to attack. The Heart Snatcher raced to Jonah, and sucked out his Heart Crystal. Mina struggled with some pain in her jaw.

"MOON TIARA ACTION!"

The Moon Tiara hit Mimet's staff out of her hand.

"You broke my nail!" Mimet said.

"And you've broken everyone's eardrums!" Sailor Moon shouted. "Not to mention trying to steal a heart!"

"We're the Champions of Justice!" Sailor Jupiter cried.

Mercury: "We will right wrongs and triumph..."

Mars: "... over evil!"

Moon: "And to go without saying, that evil is you!"

While Mimet was distracted, Mina ran backstage.

"VENUS STAR POWER!"

Sailor Venus appeared to stop Mimet. She told Mimet that she wouldn't take Jonah's heart. Mimet said that she was going to take Jonah's Heart Crystal for her mission. Venus told Mimet that she couldn't decide what was best for Jonah's heart. Mimet sent the Heart Snatcher to attack, and the Sailor Scouts gathered around Venus. The Heart Snatcher stood there singing. Mimet asked what it was doing. It was warming up. A song started to play, but nothing happened.

"I forgot the words!" The Heart Snatcher said, embarrassed. Sailor Mercury cued Sailor Moon.

"MOON CRISIS POWER!"

"RAINBOW MOON HEART ACHE!"

The Heart Snatcher was destroyed. The microphone it was created from fell to the ground, and the Daimon pod came out of it, and broke, releasing a bird-like spirit into the air. Jonah's Heart Crystal was freed. Mimet ran to get it.

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN WHIP!"

Venus' Love Chain hit Mimet's hand, making her unable to get the Heart Crystal. The Outer Sailor Scouts looked on from the entrance.

"Looks like they have another purpose for the Heart Crystals." Neptune said.

"Yeah, but what is it?" Uranus asked?

"Heart Crystals contain energy which can be used to build up strength." Pluto said. Neptune and Uranus looked at her. "It could be that they've found the Sovereign of Silence, who will revive with the power of Heart Energy."

On the stage, Sailor Mars gave Jonah's Heart Crystal to Venus. She thought it appropriate that Sailor Venus return the Heart Crystal. Sailor Venus returned Jonah's Heart Crystal, muttering to Artemis that he didn't say the others were there.

Back at Dr. Tomo's lab, Mimet was facing Dr. Tomo with her failure. She began to cry with frustration at the Sailor Scouts.

"Well, Mimet," Dr. Tomo said, "tomorrow's a new day when darkness can rule."
