Sailor Moon Episode 114Episode title: Fiendish Ferns Original American Airdate: 07/24/2000 Still at the Mugen School lecture center, Telulu had pulled the plug on Mimet. Mimet ceased to exist, and Sailors Uranus, Neptune and Pluto watched while Super Sailor Moon collapsed on the stage. Telulu disappeared. "Guess the Bureau of Bad Behavior doesn't believe in teamwork." Sailor Pluto said. "That's good for us. It reveals their vulnerable flaw." Said Uranus. Neptune said, "Yeah, that's too bad for their team." Remarked Neptune. Uranus reminded them that they needed to stay focused, and the three started to leave. Sailor Moon and the other Sailor Scouts went after them. "You guys, wait!" Sailor Moon shouted. The three stopped and looked at her. "You can't go after Hotaru! She's innocent!" "I know her! She's good to the bone." Sailor Mini Moon added. Mercury and Venus said they were sure that Hotaru wasn't with the evil forces. "You're weakened by your tender feelings, Sailor Scouts," Sailor Uranus said, "but we've got work to do." Sailor Mars asked, "But why don't we work together to solve this problem?" "Nothing's ever that black and white." Sailor Jupiter added. The Sailor Scouts wanted to help, but Uranus told them that the Outer Scouts would destroy the Sovereign of Silence and Sailor Saturn. Sailor Mini Moon pleaded with them, but to no avail. Meanwhile, the Sovereign of Silence was getting weaker and weaker. She needed the powers of multiple Heart Crystals in order to achieve her maximum power. She fainted slightly, and Hotaru's personality came out for a moment. She sobbed softly on her dark throne. "Sovereign?" Tomo said with concern. The Sovereign sat back up. "That's my name. Say it wisely, and concentrate on getting me that heart energy! Now!" The Sovereign said. "Right." Tomo replied. At the now-entitled Witches 3 laboratory, a woman with bright green hair was recieving a call. She had plants all around her computer screen, and she typed persistently at her glowing screen. She picked up the phone. "Yes? Bureau of Bad Behavior here. Telulu speaking." The woman said. Her hair was not unlike Serena's, except that she had four "meatballs" instead of two, and no pigtails coming out of them. "Tomo here. I need your help." "Go ahead." "I've just read your proposal for the Venus Heart Trap. I think it's brilliant." Dr. Tomo said. "I want you to put the plan into action right away, alright?" "As you wish, Dr. Tomo." Telulu replied. "And I think it goes without saying, we could use an X in the success box, Telulu. The Sovereign is losing her patience and a big dose of heart energy will score us both some big points. Is your heart trap ready to go?" "Actually, I've got a few ready." Said Telulu, holding up one of her plants. It was only one amongst thousands, all present in Telulu's room. Tomo hung up the phone. "Dr. Tomo?" A voice said. Tomo turned and saw Kaorinite. "Thought you might like a snack." She said. "You read my mind." Tomo said with an eager smile. He hit the sore muscles in his shoulders. Kaorinite put down the tray she was carrying, and massaged his shoulders. She blushed to herself as she thought about how thankful she was that Dr. Tomo had given her a new body. "You can't spend the rest of your days playing secretary." Tomo said, breaking Kaorinite's train of thought. "We need you back in the field." Kaorinite gasped as she came back to reality. "You have too much experience." Tomo continued. "It's going to waste, eh Kaori? Don't you miss wreaking havoc and badness?" "Well," Kaorinite began, "honestly, I was hoping..." "Hope is all we have right now." Tomo interrupted. "I need you out there. The Sovereign needs you." Tomo walked past Kaorinite, who was looking at the floor dejected. She suddenly turned to talk to him. "Dr. Tomo, I'm..." "You're not ready?" Tomo said. "Don't worry, Kaorinite. I'll take care of it." With that, Tomo left his lab to do other things. Kaorinite looked at where he had left. "Yes, Doctor." She said to herself. Her eyes flashed a bright red, and the powers of the witch inside her awoke. Her clothes were replaced by a black outfit, and she disappeared to prepare herself for her mission. Meanwhile, Telulu had opened a store and was giving away her Venus Heart Trap plants. A huge crowd was gathered around, snatching up the plants more quickly than anything. Trista happened by the shop and looked at the crowd. "Teluan Flower?" Trista said to herself. "Never heard of it. Sounds pretty fishy." That night, one of Telulu's flowers was amidst a small population of plants in a greenhouse. It started to glow in the night, and emitted an energy burst. The energy killed every plant in the vicinity in seconds. The next afternoon, Rini was tearing down the street at breakneck speeds. Serena was trailing behind, trying not to break her neck. She finally had to stop from exhaustion, as Luna and Artemis watched Rini go. "Brat. Why does she always have to take off on me?" Serena griped. "Serena!" Luna said. "What is it?" Serena sneered. Luna said, "Didn't she mention what was bothering her?" "Bothering her?" Serena replied. "All she mentioned was my taking her to the park. Running a marathon was not exactly in my plans today." "Don't be so selfish!" Artemis said. "Rini is obviously upset!" "We think it's about Hotaru." Luna added. "We think she's looking for her." Artemis looked on with worry. "Her best friend is in trouble and she wants to help." "I never thought about that, you guys." Serena said. "But why is she so annoying at times?" "Well you know what they say, Serena." Luna said. "Like future mother, like future daughter." While Luna and Serena argued, Artemis looked up and saw that they were very close to Mugen School. Suspecting that as Rini's destination, they all ran there as fast as they could. At the school, Rini had made her way to the front door. She looked inside and saw that the place was devoid of any people. She started to go inside, but was stopped by Serena, who hoisted the little girl into the air. She took Rini to a bench. "You shouldn't be here at all, let alone by yourself!" Serena scolded. "Use your head!" Artemis looked at Rini. "Did you forget that this might be the Bureau of Bad Behavior's base?" All Rini knew was that Hotaru was in danger, and she needed to save her. The more she thought and talked about it, the more despondant she felt. "There's just one thing." Luna said. "You forgot the rule we Sailor Scouts work by." Serena said. "Teamwork, Rini." "That's right. There's no need to do this on your own." Artemis said. Serena vowed to protect and save Hotaru, which helped Rini feel a lot better. Meanwhile, the Sovereign of Silence was on her throne. Hotaru's mind was shining through, and wondering where she was. She got up and started to look for Rini. At the Mugen School, Trista was examining Telulu's "Teluan Flower" plant. With a computer, she was able to figure out that the plant was not made by nature. She looked at the somewhat drab plant. Suddenly, it started to glow an eerie red color. Trista leapt out of her chair, and screamed out as red tendrils of energy reached out for her and her Heart Crystal. Suddenly, things around her were quiet. She opened her eyes, and there was her Garnet Rod, shining brightly. On the streets, Hotaru was walking past Telulu's shop. Telulu offered Hotaru one of her plants, and Hotaru accepted, excited to give it as a gift to Rini. Hotaru arrived at Serena's house as fast as she could, holding the plant in her arms. She knocked on the door, and Rini answered it. Rini was elated and excited to see her best friend at the door. "Rini, is that Darien?" Serena called from in the house. She, Artemis and Luna peaked out from the dining room. Rini frowned at Serena and closed the door. Serena thought it rude, so she went to the door, and opened it slightly, looking in on Rini and Hotaru outside. Hotaru presented her new gift to Rini. It was called a "Happy Bloom", which was to give Rini happiness. "Well, it must be true because you're here." Rini said with a smile. Hotaru sighed and leaned against the side of the gate. "I don't know if I should be, though." She said. Rini asked what was wrong. "I'm not sure." She replied. "But lately I feel as if there's someone else inside me. Someone mean. I hurt others' feelings without knowing it or wanting to. I'm afraid I'll ruin my friendship with you and the others. I'm sorry. I shouldn't burden you with all this, but I feel as if I can tell you anything, Rini." Hotaru told Rini not to worry, but suddenly collapsed against the side of the gate. Serena swung open the door, ready to rush to Hotaru's aid. Hotaru sat with her head bowed for a moment, and then raised her head, speaking in the voice of the Sovereign of Silence. "What's happening is that I want your sugary pure heart!" Hotaru/ Sovereign said. Rini drew back, startled. The Sovereign, with an evil sneer on her face, started reaching out for Rini's face with her hands. The closer her hands got, the more they frightened Rini and Serena. "Hotaru, stop!" Serena shouted. Suddenly, Hotaru came back. "Rini, what have I done?" Hotaru asked, scared. "Besides making your eyes turn red?" Rini said, looking at Hotaru in wonder. Hotaru pleaded with Rini, telling her that what just happened wasn't her. "Who was it?" Rini asked. "A friend." Came a voice. From out of nowhere, Kaorinite appeared. The girls all looked up in fright. Rini tried to confront Kaorinite, but was knocked backwards into Serena by the witch. Kaorinite grabbed Hotaru and disappeared. Luna, Artemis and Serena were amazed at Kaorinite's return, but Rini didn't care. She was saddened and felt that she had failed Hotaru. Just then, Trista came to Serena's house, and Rini told her that Hotaru was kidnapped. Trista saw Rini holding the flower, and knocked it out of her hand. The pot it was in smashed into pieces. "You're so mean!" Rini shouted. "That plant was a present from Hotaru!" "Then that means Hotaru's after your heart, I'm afraid." Trista replied. "That plant is a Heart Snatcher in disguise! Watch." The quartet looked over to the flower, and watched it glow red. Within seconds, the area around it, which was a tree root and some grass, died. Trista was sure that there were hundreds of the plants around Tokyo, and Rini was sure Hotaru had nothing to do with it, and that the florists' shop needed to be stopped. The trio arrived at the flower shop and observed it from across the street. Serena said, "We should go around..." "And sneak in the back door!" Rini interrupted. Serena was ticked that Rini had stolen her good plan. Inside the shop, Telulu was watching the customers in her shop choose their flowers. She pressed a button, and the entire shop was closed off, metal shutters closing the doors. She sat on the counter, and her plants all came to life. In one quick flash, every person's Heart Crystal was taken. Telulu held out her hand, revealing a small black star that was more of a piece of jewelery. The Heart Crystals were collected into the star. Serena saw the whole thing. Rini was still sure that Hotaru wasn't involved. "MOON COSMIC POWER!" "PLUTO STAR POWER!" "MINI PRISM POWER!" Telulu was proud of her work. "You belong in the compost!" A voice shouted. Telulu looked and saw Sailor Moon. "Using plants in such an ugly way, stealing hearts from people, and corrupting an innocent girl! I won't have it! And Sailor Moon says, we will fight all bad weeds! And that means you!" Telulu, undaunted, used the power of her plants to attack the Sailor Scouts. They dodged the attacks. Sailor Mini Moon stepped forward. "PINK SUGAR HEART ATTACK!" Nothing happened. Telulu laughed heartily, enjoying the joke. She thrust her hand forward, and many vine-like tendrils shot out at Sailor Mini Moon. Mini Moon held her pose, and in the nick of time, her attack worked, fending off the tendrils. Telulu used her other hand, and Sailor Pluto got in the way, taking the attack. As she was being electrocuted by the vines, a rose suddenly flew downwards, freeing Pluto. Telulu fell backwards into a plant display. "As it's well known, flower power is supposed to be peaceful." Tuxedo Mask said. "You must not use blooms for evil." Sailor Moon stepped forward. "MOON CRISIS POWER!" "RAINBOW MOON HEART ACHE!" The shot, while aimed at Telulu, missed, but destroyed all the plants in the store. Sailor Moon reverted to her normal self, and fell to the ground. Telulu emerged from her hiding place, with one last plant. She injected the plant with a type of serum. The plant reacted to it, and grew into a huge monster plant. Telulu, in her cockiness, revealed the black star that held the Heart Crystals in it. Tuxedo Mask threw his rose, and knocked the star out of Telulu's hand. It fell to the ground and broke into a million pieces. The Heart Crystals were freed. Telulu leapt after them, but was caught by the plant, which sensed the Heart Crystals, but grabbed its master. Telulu struggled with the monster, and extracted the vines from her hands to grab the plant and shock it with energy. Telulu was getting hit by the energy too. She kept up her attack into dangerous proportions, until she and the plant were finally disintigrated. Sailor Moon looked to the ground and saw Telulu's school ID. Telulu was from Mugen School. Sailor Mini Moon was trying to awaken Sailor Pluto. She woke up slowly. Sailor Mini Moon thanked her for stepping into the attack, and told her that Hotaru was innocent. She asked Pluto to help them save Hotaru. "Oh, Rini." Sailor Pluto said. To the Next episode |
