Sailor Moon Episode 116

Episode title: Wake up Call

The cold wind blew one night as a voice called out to a mass of students. With blank looks, each and every student followed the voice towards the doors of Mugen School. No one could know what lurked inside, but no one seemed to care. No one, but the voice. Mugen School stood ominously within the sea of buildings and houses in Tokyo. Amara and Michele were investigating the night to make sure nothing could happen to the innocent citizens of Tokyo.

"It feels like the wind is crying." Amara said.

"And the planet itself seems to be frightened of some unknown terror." Michele said.

At Serena's house, Serena and Rini were bathing together. Rini was sitting in the tub thinking about Hotaru, while Serena was rinsing out her hair underneath the showerhead nearby. Serena attempted to comfort Rini, but slipped on a bar of soap, and splashed into the tub. Serena apologized. Suddenly, Rini dunked Serena into the water, and the two began to play in the tub for a while. When they had finished, Serena had to catch up to Rini to get a towel around her waist. She was about to go to bed when she stopped.

"Serena?" She said. Serena stopped and looked at her. "I'm really worried about Hotaru." She said. "But I'm going to try to be more cheerful anyway." Serena was just unable to say anything, except good night when Rini went to her bedroom. Luna opened the door, and Artemis was there. Serena got dressed, and started going to her destination: The Mugen School.

In the Mugen School basement, Hotaru was sitting upon the Sovereign of Silence's throne, suffering from lack of strength. Dr. Tomo was watching with a woman. She had blue hair, and a ponytail on the right side of her head.

"This is not good." Tomo said. "She's getting weaker and weaker."

"She needs to have many pure hearts as soon as possible." The woman said. She turned towards Tomo. "I've already made the necessary arrangements. Oh Dr. Tomo, as the last, and greatest, of your Witches 5, I'll do my very best for you, sir!"

Tomo smiled and looked at her. "Thank you, I just hope your best is good enough, Cyprine." He said. "You're my only hope now, so don't let me down!"

Cyprine promised to succeed of course, saying she would do better than Kaorinite. Kaorinite appeared hovering high in the room as they talked. When Cyprine spotted her, she vanished and reappeared in another part of the school. In her anger, she decided to go after the purest heart of all. The heart that loved the Sovereign of Silence: Rini's.

That night, Rini had a dream. In it, Hotaru was trapped, and was suddenly grabbed by a chorus of hands. Rini awoke with a start. She sat in her bed contemplating her nightmare.

Back at Mugen, the students who were marching into the school soon found their way into a special room. The circular ceiling was adorned with stained glass windows, and a large statue, seeming to be made out of glass, stood tall and proud. At the center of it all was Cyprine, readying herself to steal the Heart Crystals of everyone in the room. Serena, Raye, Amy, Mina and Lita watched silently. They all gasped in shock as the Heart Crystals of every student in the room was extracted and placed in the statue. Cyprine wasn't dumb, however. She spotted the spying girls and placed them in a bubble. In a minute, they were transported to another part of the building. Amara and Michele went to look for the top of the building.

Meanwhile, the girls appeared in what looked like an office. They looked about, and a voice boomed out from somewhere, welcoming them. Behind the desk, the chair swiveled around revealing Cyprine.

"How do you do, ladies?" She said. "I'm Cyprine, the last and greatest of the Bad Behavior Bureau!"

"If you're so great, why didn't they use you first?" Lita asked smartly.

"VENUS STAR POWER!"

"MERCURY STAR POWER!"

"MARS STAR POWER!"

"JUPITER STAR POWER!"

"MOON COSMIC POWER, TRANSFORM!"

"In the name of Venus, I'll preserve everything that's beautiful with love!"

"In the name of Mercury, I'll cleanse evil, flushing your deadly silence away!"

"I shall punish those who steal pure hearts and destroy innocent lives with the fire of Mars!"

"In the name of the planet Jupiter, you will regret the day you were born! When I stop you, I show no mercy!"

"We shall punish you in the name of the moon!"

Cyprine laughed.

"MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND!"

Mars' rings of fire shot towards Cyprine, and blew out the large window behind her. Before the smoke could clear, however, a red orb shot out of the black smog and hit Mars in the stomach, sending her flying into the wall. Another one sailed at her, but she was able to dodge. While she was still in the air though, a blue orb shot out of the smog and hit Mars, sending her back to the ground. The girls ran to the fallen Sailor Scout. Cyprine reappeared.

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN ENCIRCLE!"

Cyprine's grin couldn't escape her face as Venus hauled her to the ground with her chain. Cyprine just laughed as a red blast of energy hit Sailor Venus, sending her flying. The girls all looked and saw two ladies now. The other looked just like Cyprine, except that her ponytail was on the opposite side of her head, and her hair was red.

"I'm Cyprine!"

"I'm Petirol!"

Jupiter didn't care who they were, or that they shared the same body and mind.

"SPARKLING WIDE PRESSURE!"

The twins leapt into the air, and conjoined their staves. When Jupiter's power hit them, it was absorbed, and sent back to her tenfold. Jupiter was hit hard, and without mercy.

Meanwhile, Rini was standing quietly in front of Hotaru's empty house. She vowed to Hotaru that she would find and save her friend.

"MOON PRISM POWER!"

Kaorinite saw Rini's transformation. "This is icing on the cake." She said to herself.

Outside, the doors opened slowly in front of Rini. Rini ducked behind a corner, and peaked in. The dark hallways inside seemed deserted, so she charged in, looking for Hotaru. She peaked into a room and saw a shadow by a window.

"Hotaru?"

"Hotaru's not here. She misses you very much." The figure said, coming out of the shadows and becoming Kaorinite. "She sent a message. She said she wants you to come see her, and don't forget your pure heart!" Kaorinite tried to grab Sailor Mini Moon, but a red rose flew into Kaorinite's path, and she stopped.

Tuxedo Mask stood proudly. "A childhood friendship is something to cherish your entire life, but your heart is so frozen, you can't feel the warmth of true friendship!"

"Feel this!" Kaori shouted. She emitted a high energy pulse, and Sailor Mini Moon was sent flying out the window. She crashed to the ground. Kaorinite appeared in front of her, and was about to grab her.

"PLUTO DEADLY SCREAM!"

Kaorinite shielded herself with red fog, and was able to grab Sailor Mini Moon. Sailor Pluto and Tuxedo Mask watched as Kaorinite escaped with her target. Meanwhile, Cyprine and Petirol had changed the office into a void of space. The fight raged on.

"SHINE AQUA ILLUSION!"

The twins absorbed the shot, and hit Sailor Mercury back with it. Sailor Mars thought that maybe their strength was in their teamwork. They decided to work together to seperate the twins. Each leapt into action together.

"MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!"

A fog covered the entire room. The twins laughed, undaunted.

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN!"

Venus' chain wrapped the two staves together.

"MOON TIARA MAGIC!"

"MARS FIREBALL FLASH!"

The powers from Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars seemed to feed the twins with power. Suddenly, Sailor Jupiter pushed Cyprine from Petirol. Cyprine chased after her assailent. Just as suddenly, Sailor Mars came and hit Petirol in the back of the head. Petirol fell to the ground, then got up and proceeded to chase Sailor Mars. As the Sailors ran, they dodged the energy attacks from the twins. Suddenly, Petirol appeared in front of Mars, and Mars began to retreat. Sailor Jupiter had jumped into the air. In the moment that she was in the air, both Cyprine and Petirol were unknowingly aiming at each other. As they powered up, Sailor Venus pushed Jupiter out of the way, and Mars dove out of the way. The twins ended up blasting each other, and were destroyed in an instant.

In the room where the students were, the large statue exploded, and the Heart Crystals were replaced. The space around the Sailor Scouts returned to that of an office. At the broken window, a small portal appeared. The Sailor Scouts decided to check it out.

Meanwhile, Sailor Neptune and Sailor Uranus walked slowly and almost deliberately towards the stage housing the Sovereign of Silence. Dr. Tomo was there, surrounded by a square area. The area was covered in a ceiling of bells on strings.

"I've been expecting you, Sailor Scouts!" Tomo said happily.

"At long last, you reveal yourself." Sailor Uranus replied.

Tomo laughed. "Yes! Actually, you're just in time! The celebration's about to begin!"

A light shone on an altar behind Tomo. On it, lying unconcscious, was Sailor Mini Moon. Sailor Uranus made a dash towards the Sailor Scout, but was stopped suddenly by a force field. The shock sent Sailor Uranus flying backwards. The other Sailor Scouts arrived ran to Uranus.

"I guess you heard about the celebration as well." Tomo said, laughing. Sailor Moon looked and saw Sailor Mini Moon upon the altar. Tomo called upon Kaorinite.

"Yes, the Sovereign of Silence will be ready to awaken very soon, Doctor." Kaorinite said. "The Pure Heart of Rini is all it will take to begin the awakening process."

"I just love the purest heart." The Sovereign said. Sailor Moon ran towards Sailor Mini Moon, but was also stopped by the force barrier. The Sovereign of Silence began to glow, while Sailor Moon repeatedly tried to get through the barrier. An odd hand made of bright purple energy reached out of the Sovereign/ Hotaru, and into Mini Moon's chest. Sailor Mini Moon looked at the Sovereign, and smiled weakly.

"Oh, my friend Hotaru." She said. "So glad you're safe and sound."

No sooner did she finish that sentence, than did the hand pull out Mini Moon's Heart Crystal. Sailor Moon's eyes welled up with tears at the sight. The Sailor Scouts all watched in horror as Mini Moon reverted to Rini, and her Heart Crystal slowly floated to Hotaru.

"No!" Uranus cried. "If Sailor Saturn is revived, this whole world will be destroyed!"

Sailor Moon shouted at Tomo to stop if he loved Hotaru. Tomo didn't know what she was talking about. Hotaru swallowed Rini's Heart Crystal. In seconds, her body transformed into that of an adult woman. She had very long hair, with a dark blue dress. She had a black star on her head, and was very beautiful.

"Oh no!" Shouted Uranus.

"It's not Sailor Saturn!" Neptune shouted. "I wonder who she is then?"

"Tell us who you are!" Shouted Mars, Jupiter, Venus and Mercury.

The woman stood tall above the Sailor Scouts and everyone in the room. She said, "I'm known as Mistress Nine, the Sovereign of Silence!"

Lightning crackled down all around the stage as Mistress Nine's powers started to awaken.

"We were triumphant, Doctor." Kaorinite said.

"I must show my appreciation for all your help." Dr. Tomo replied. As Kaorinite was offering her modesty, Mistress Nine hit her hard with a blast that sent her flying into the force barrier. In a few mere seconds, Kaorinite dissolved and died once more.

"She's did her job, and we have no use for her." Mistress Nine said. "Now Dr. Tomo, let's start preparing for the next stage!"

With that, Mistress Nine emitted a huge orb of energy, that flooded the room. Intense energy started to flood the building floor by floor, shattering every window. To show her awakening, the top floors of the Mugen School exploded in a rain of rocks and fire. Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Pluto witnessed the explosion, wondering about the Sailor Scouts. Just then, they all came out holding a comatose Rini. As the Sailor Scouts ran, Pluto looked atop a nearby building, relieved to behold the sight of Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune.

Darien, the cats, and Serena went back to Serena's house. Darien cradled Rini in his arms, and was able to lend his life energy to keep Rini from dying without her Pure Heart Crystal.

"What are we fighting for anyway?" Serena said, sobbing. "It's our fault that Rini's in this danger."

Downstairs, the girls were surprised to see Trista come in.

"I'm going to join Uranus and Neptune, and we're going to Mugen School to destroy the Sovereign of Silence." Trista said firmly.

"But don't you know?" Jupiter said desperately.

"The Sovereign of Silence is Hotaru!" Raye said.

Trista stuck with her convictions. "That's the only way to save Rini's life." Trista said. "It's our only option." With that, she turned and left.

Serena and Darien kept their vigil over Rini. "I don't want anyone getting hurt." Serena said. "I want Rini back. And I also want Hotaru back, for Rini's sake. It can't be either, or. Can there be another way?"

"Serena." Darien said. "We'll do what we have to for the good of us all. If we have to, we must fight for what we believe in."

The Sailor Scouts marched bravely into the night, unified in strength, and went towards the Mugen School.
