Episode title: The Cosmetic Caper

The two found Rini on her own in a park. Serena asked Rini if she was all right, and Darien told her to come along. When Rini put her hand in Darien's he had a flashback of a large Crystal Tower. Serena asked Darien if he was all right, and Darien said he was fine. The three left the park.

While Darien, Serena and Rini were going home, Rini on Darien's back, Serena said she was angry at Rini. Rini promised, insincerely, that she wouldn't go off on her own ever again.

"Now," she continued, "why don't you go and leave us alone?"

"Leave you alone?" Serena said. "Wait a second! In case you hadn't noticed, that's my boyfriend you're draped all over."

"Nuh, uh!" Replied Rini. "He's my boyfriend now!"

Serena told Rini that she and Darien were meant to be. Darien said that Serena was being jealous. Serena stormed off.

"I'm bored with you two!" She screamed. "Go ahead! Have your fun! And while you're at it, why don't you get married?" Darien went after Serena.

Serena got to her house, and in the front yard, she and Darien watched while her parents scolded Rini for not telling them where she was. Rini apologized, and Serena's dad asked if Darien was her boyfriend. Serena said nervously,

"This is my friend Darien, he helped me find Rini." Darien said hello, and Serena's mother said hello. Sammy said Darien looked too old to be Serena's boyfriend, and Serena's father freaked out. Darien left, and Serena's father yelled after him. Serena's mother said that Darien should come to dinner, and her father said that he was too old. A voice, belonging to Rini, piped in.

"I'm hungry. Can I have something good to eat now?"

Serena's family simply stared at the little girl.

"Who are you?" Father asked. Rini was isolated. She took her Luna Ball, and turned it into an umbrella. She spun it around, and succeeded in hypnotizing the family. That is, until Luna broke out of her trance, and bit Serena. Serena came to, and after she griped at Luna, she looked at her family. They were crowded around Rini like she was the most important thing in the world. It was obvious. Rini had tricked her family. Serena was about to get Rini, and Serena's family was quick to defend the pink haired rat. Sammy, in the meantime, said that Rini's ball looked a lot like Luna.

"It does not!" The cat exclaimed in her thoughts.

The woman in blue who worked with Rubeus appeared in her mirror. She saw Rubeus looking at three-dimensional diagram of a city.

"Not Crystal Tokyo again!" She said. "I was having a peticure." Rubeus reminded the woman, named Birdy, that they had a mission.

"Our luck's been lousy. The kid's been as hard to find as a rabbit." She said. Rubeus told Birdy that the heart of Crystal Tokyo was called Crystal Nucleus. In the past city of Tokyo, it was in a beauty shop. Birdy went to capture it.

While Darien was walking home that afternoon, a flashback, much like the one he experienced when he touched Rini, came to him. In it, he saw the Crystal Tower, and also saw Princess Serena. She looked lovely, but something happened to her...

Meanwhile, Serena was walking home, looking at a test. She got a big red 32. She saw Darien, and waved. She hid her test, and ran to him. She apologized for the day before, and Darien pushed Serena away. He said that he didn't want to see her anymore.

"That's it, Serena! We're through!" Serena could only look on in shock.

Serena was sitting with the other girls on the steps of Raye's temple. Serena was depressed, and Mina said that maybe Darien said something he didn't mean. Amy thought that maybe Darien was doing it for Serena's benefit. She thought that Darien staged the break-up to get Serena to study more. No-one agreed. Raye told Serena,

"Follow your heart, and somehow, I know it'll all work out."

Serena thanked her friend.

Darien was watching Rini doing her homework. A knock came from the door, and Darien went to answer it. He tried to contain his anger when he found out that the one who knocked was Serena. In the living room, a petal fell from the rose...

Serena said that she wanted to apologize. She said she didn't know Darien was in a bad mood, and Darien said that he wasn't. Serena went for her second idea, and promised that she would work harder in school. Darien said that their relationship was over. Serena said,

"Why don't I believe you? You haven't forgotten how you were Prince Darien and I was Princess Serena?"

Darien got angry, and asked Serena furiously why his life should be governed by his past. Serena had tears in her eyes, though a smile still remained on her face. She saw Rini's shoes, and asked if the little girl was there.

"I know she's just a little kid and all, but I feel like she's replaced me somehow."

"Don't be silly!" Darien snapped. Serena left in tears. Rini was watching, unbeknownst to Serena and Darien, and was in tears herself.

Serena was walking home in a pool of melancholy feelings. She got to a phone booth, and sank to her knees, crying. She apologized to the mother who couldn't hear her, that she couldn't invite Darien over for dinner.

Meanwhile, Birdy was invoking the power of darkness into the beauty shop. The shutters on the front of the building opened, and out came Birdy, dressed in a large dress and an umbrella. She called out for someone named Droid O. The Droid named O appeared, and Birdy told the Droid of her plan. She was going to use cosmetics to imbue girls with Nega-energy.

Later that day, Birdy stood atop a building with a small tome of paper in her hand. They were pamphlets, and all she had to do was distribute them. A strong wind came along, and the pamphlets scattered all over the city. One of the sheets landed near Serena.

Some time later, Serena went into the beauty shop. She walked to the counter, and the clerk noticed the sad look on Serena's face. She asked what the matter was, and Serena hesitated in her answer. The clerk recommended that Serena put on some cosmetics. Serena asked if make-up would make Darien want her again, and the clerk said that the more make-up one wears, the more men were attracted to them. Serena snapped, saying,

"Darien looks deeper than how you look! He cares about who you are!"

Serena tried to storm off, but the clerk grabbed her arm, and the other customers left in fear. Serena tried to get away, and the clerk changed into Droid O. Serena was disgusted, and tried to get away. Finally, Luna leapt into the Droid's face from out of nowhere, and Serena transformed.

"MOON STAR POWER!!!!"

Sailor Moon appeared, and the Droid wasted no time in attacking. The Droid spat a stream of liquid at the Sailor, and succeeded in hitting a shelf and melting it. Sailor Moon was able to dodge the Droid's second attack, but slipped on a hairspray can, and tumbled to the floor. The Droid soon loomed over Sailor Moon, and stopped only when a rose, signifying Tuxedo Mask's appearance came down.

"What counts isn't how you look on the outside." He announced. "It's what's going on, on the inside."

The Droid attacked Tuxedo Mask by spitting the liquid at him, but he jumped out of the way, and landed by Sailor Moon. Droid O attacked again, but Tuxedo Mask countered by twirling his cane, sending the liquid back into the Droid's face. The Droid covered her face, and when her hands were drawn away, her face was gone. Sailor Moon looked at the woman who was so superficial.

"MOON SCEPTER ELIMINATION!!!!"

The Droid began to die, and was reduced to a pile of dust. Settled onto the pile was a small green crystal. It faded away into black.

Later, Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask were outside the shop, talking.

"Are you alright?" Tuxedo Mask asked. Sailor Moon responded yes. Tuxedo Mask was about to leave, when Sailor Moon said,

"Wait! Tell me, Tuxedo Mask; it can't be true you don't care for me. I know, because you came to my rescue again."

"That was just for old time's sake." He responded.

"Then tell me... Darien," Sailor Moon went on, "please tell me why you don't care for me anymore."

"Let's leave what's in the past where it belongs." Tuxedo Mask said. His eyes began to fill with tears. "Okay."

Tuxedo Mask left, and Sailor Moon stood crying. Luna came out, and told Sailor Moon that she found some girls in the basement of the shop, and Sailor Moon had to help them. Sailor Moon only looked on, promising Darien that she would win his heart back.
