Episode title: Sailor Mercury Moving on?

"Mint chip!" She said to herself, drooling. "I want some!" Suddenly, she snapped at herself, and said, "Wait a minute! I'm acting like a total kid, slobbering over ice cream. I've gotta keep my mind on the Silver Crystal." She was about to leave, when a voice said,

"Hey, Rini! Where are you going?" Rini turned around, and saw Amy. Amy asked, "Ice cream shop?"

"No, just home." Replied Rini.

"Wow, you've got a lot of discipline." Amy said.

"I try." Rini replied. Amy said,

"I've heard their ice cream is really delicious, but I'd like some company." Rini replied,

"Don't look at me! I hate sweets!"

"Oh, come on!" Amy said. "Everybody loves ice cream, Rini." She offered to buy her some, and Rini said that she would go, only because she wanted some company.

All the girls were at Raye's, except for Amy, and they were all depressed. Serena had no idea why, and asked.

"We just found out Amy was accepted to study in Germany." Raye said.

"Yeah." Continued Mina. "Our little genius totally aced her 'study abroad scholarship' test."

"They say she can choose any school she wants." Lita said. "Even start her pre-med training!"

"So, when does she leave?" Artemis asked. Raye said not for a few weeks. Luna thought that studying abroad sounded exciting, and Lita said,

"Yeah, but I bet it'll be hard for her, being away from her friends, and so far from home. She's so sweet, her friends mean a lot to her!"

"We can't just let her go!" Said Serena. "Don't you see? She's the brains behind the Sailor Scouts. Come on, we'll be totally lost without her, you guys!"

"Serena," Raye said, "do you always have to be so selfish? I mean, think about Amy!"

Mina continued,

"Yeah. She's gonna need all the support we can give her, Serena. And besides, we can't always depend on Amy. You've got a perfectly good brain too."

"I think I understand Serena." Luna said. "You're just afraid that one of your best friends is going away."

"Yeah, I guess I should be happy for Amy, shouldn't I?" Serena said.

They suddenly had an idea to give Amy a huge going away party. Serena immediately volunteered to be in charge.

Amy and Rini departed. Amy said it was nice to get to know Rini better. Rini watched Amy leave, and thought, Maybe she has the Silver Crystal! No one would be dumb enough to give it to Serena!

"So, here are some new power tools for you girls." Said Artemis, back at Raye's temple. "You each get a power stick, and a wrist communicator."

"I think you'll like them." Luna continued. "They're ten times more powerful than the old ones."

"But what are we going to do with Sailor Mercury's stuff?" Asked a depressed Serena.

"Crystal Tokyo." Rubeus said to himself in his great fortress. "A thousand years in the future, and soon to be under my control!"

"You called?" Said Birdy, popping through a mirror. Rubeus told her that he had located the first of five Crystal Points of the future city of Crystal Tokyo. It was located at an ice cream shop. Birdy went to turn it into a stronghold for a place known to them as the Negamoon.

Rini was waiting at the ice cream shop, trying to bump into Amy. She succeeded, and Amy asked if Serena was with her. Rini said no, and asked Amy if she could stay over at her house one night.

"What's the matter?" Amy asked. "Aren't you and Serena getting along, Rini?"

"Oh, no, it's nothing like that." Rini said. "You see, she has this really big test coming up, and I don't want to bother her. You know how easily she can be distracted."

"I've been there." Amy said in agreement. "I think I can help you out, and you'll probably get a better night's sleep away from Serena the Hyena!"

Rini thanked Amy, and thought, Now, for sure, I'll get that Crystal!

That night, Amy and Rini were in Amy's room, reading. Rini was asleep, and Amy woke her up, saying,

"Rini, why don't you just go to bed?"

"But, I wanna finish this!" Said the tired little girl. Amy smiled.

"Go to bed, Rini. You can finish reading it in the morning." Rini thought, If she doesn't go to bed soon, I'll never get a chance to search through her stuff!

"Hey!" Rini said. "Aren't you tired?"

"No, not at all." Replied Amy. "I always study best at night. I'm a night owl." Amy looked at Rini. "I guess I forgot how little you are sometimes, Rini." She said. "Go on. Go to bed if you like."

"Are you gonna come too?" Rini asked. Amy smiled, and said,

"You know, you're exactly like me when I was little: Curious. I always wanted to stay up way too late with my parents. Sometimes, my mom would give in, and let me sleep in her lap while she read. She's a pediatrician, and that's what I want to be too."

"Over in Germany, right?"

"Pretty soon, I'll be packing my bags!" Amy said. "Wow! My first trip abroad!"

"Won't you be lonely?" Rini asked. "It's so far."

"I know." Amy replied. "That's the only bummer about studying abroad, you know. I've never been so far away before."

That night, Serena had a dream. In it, she was talking to Amy.

"Amy, please stay." Serena pleaded. Amy replied,

"It's my one chance!"

"No, it isn't!" Serena said. "You're so smart, they'll take you anytime!"

"I'm going. You've got to get used to that." Amy said, turning her back. Serena said that she would miss Amy, and Amy said, "Well, I'm not going to put my dreams on hold for you!"

"Can't you study here?" Serena asked. Amy said,

"No, Serena. I'm starting a new life. I'm going to have all new friends. It's going to be wonderful!"

"Hi, Serena." Came a voice. It was Darien. Serena said,

"Hi, muffin." Darien told her not to call him that. It was over between them. Suddenly, Darien and Amy began to disappear. Serena asked where they were going, and Amy said,

"Far away, Serena."

"Far away from you." Added Darien. In her sleep, Serena pleaded with no one to not leave her.

Birdy appeared at the ice cream shop late that evening. She looked at it, and said to herself,

"The first Crystal Point's an ice cream store? How amusing! Frosty, you here yet?"

A gust of wind brought with it a Droid named Frosty.

"Sorry I'm late." Said Frosty. Birdy replied,

"Fashionably late. The best kind. Are you ready? We need quick work on this dump!"

Frosty blew a blast of air, and the store was encased in ice.

"That's fabulous!" Birdy said. "Ice Crystals for the first Crystal Point, and tomorrow, we'll have all new flavors!"

The next morning, Serena met with Amy and Rini. When they dropped Rini off at Serena's, Serena told Amy about the party. Amy immediately asked Serena to call it off.

"There's totally no way we're gonna let you take off on us without a fabu party, Amy." Serena replied.

"But all my friends and family will be there." Amy said. "It'll make me sad. I won't want to leave."

"It'll be just like going to summer camp for the first time." Serena said, trying to reason. "You miss everyone the first week, and then it's a blast! Come on, it'll be fun, and think of all the loot you'll get!" Amy asked Serena to call it off, and Serena said, "But Ames, I'm using it as an excuse to buy a new party dress!"

"What do you mean we're not giving Amy a good-bye party?" Raye asked. Serena had met with Raye, Lita and Mina in a park. Lita asked Serena if she messed up, and Serena said that Amy didn't want a party. She explained it from Amy's point of view.

"You see, I really do want to be a doctor, and take care of little kids. But leaving my friends is a big deal for me, and if you throw this big party, I'm afraid I might lose my nerve. It's already going to be hard enough to say good-bye."

"Wow, I never thought of it that way!" Raye said. "Poor Amy. What a tough decision."

"What if we just get everybody to take her to the airport then?" Suggested Lita. Mina agreed, saying,

"If she starts to change her mind, we just pack her on the plane!"

The girls cheered, as they finally had a plan.

Meanwhile, Frosty was busy selling ice cream at the newly taken shop. Two people, Sarah and Matt, tried the ice cream, and something happened to them. After Sarah had suggested renting a row boat at a park, and Matt agreed, they were suddenly changed.

"On second thought, I'm kinda busy." Said Matt.

"So am I pal!" Sarah said. "Take a hike!"

"Yeah, see you around, okay?"

"If you're lucky."

Artemis was witness to this, and thought it was very strange. Frosty continued selling, and giving sales pitches, when Birdy walked up to her, in a disguise.

"How's business today, Frosty?" Birdy asked.

"Cool."

"Whatever sales pitch you're using, it's a winner. But, don't overdo it on the first day, okay? We don't know how much storage we have."

"That's no problem." Frosty replied. "I checked it out. There's a cellar big enough to hold every single customer!"

"And the new flavors are working as expected?" Asked Birdy. Frosty said yes. Meanwhile, Artemis was snooping around in the basement. Suddenly, the door opened, and Artemis hid, making a noise. Birdy called out, asking who was there, and Artemis came out, trying to be a normal cat. Birdy picked him up.

"Know who's cat this is?" Birdy said. Frosty knew, of course, and in a strong gust of cold air, Artemis was frozen solid.

Raye and the other girls were in the fire room of Raye's temple. Raye asked the fire to tell them how to find Artemis. There was nothing. Lita mentioned the ice cream shop, and Serena said,

"Let's call up Amy. She can put a quick trace on Artemis with her computer." Suddenly, she gasped. "Oops! I forgot!"

"Forgot what?" Inquired Raye.

"I'm supposed to use my own brain from now on, right?" Serena said. "Not my strong suit guys, but I'll give it my best shot!"

"That's the spirit!" Said Raye.

Amy was packing, and Rini was watching.

"Why are you packing now?" Rini asked. "Your plane doesn't leave for two weeks!"

"No it doesn't." Amy said. Rini saw what Amy was doing.

"Oh, I get it. You told your friends the wrong flight date. That way, they can't come wish you good-bye, and you won't be sad."

"I should've known a smart little girl like you would figure it out!" Amy said. "You'll say good-bye for me?" Rini said she would, and thought, I guess she really doesn't have the Crystal, 'cause she wouldn't leave town with it!

Back at the shop, Frosty was closing, and Mina watched the shop from the bridge. She was very pensive, and Luna came up to her. Luna told Mina that they would investigate when the crowd thinned out. Meanwhile, Frosty closed, and Birdy appeared.

"How'd we do, Frosty?" Birdy asked.

"I think you'll be very pleased with today's results." The Droid replied.

"So, everyone who ate our ice cream is now under your spell." Birdy summarized. "Excellent work, Frosty. I'll remember that in the future!"

"Oh, why thank you, Birdy!"

"And when we've captured all five star points, and Crystal Tokyo is ours, I'll be queen!"

"I look forward to serving you, Birdy." Said Frosty.

"Excellent. I won't forget you. And every time there's an outfit I'm tired of, you'll get to wear it." Birdy said. Frosty asked Birdy if she wanted to see the prisoners, and Birdy said, "Nah, manicure time."

Frosty went to the basement anyway, and opened the door.

"What's the story here, snow-cone head?" A voice rang out.

"Who's there?" Frosty hissed. It was Mina and Luna.

"Now I know what you're up to down here." Mina said. "I've seen you're collection of human ice cubes, okay? Now, who are you?"

"Look, you little snoop!" Frosty hissed. "I've had a hard day, my feet are killing me, so I'm gonna put you on ice!" Frosty transformed from her disguise to her normal attire, and blew cold wind at Mina and Luna. Mina leapt out of the way, but Luna was frozen. Mina hid behind some boxes.

Serena, Raye and Lita were waiting at a bus stop. They were waiting for the bus that went to Amy's house, and the communicator on Raye's wrist began beeping. It was Mina, who requested the help of the Sailor Scouts. Serena told the girls to go, while she took a small gift to Amy's and try to talk her into staying.

"You'd just be wasting your time." Came the voice of Rini. Serena asked what Rini meant, and she said, "She's on her way to the airport. She leaves today."

Just then, Darien appeared out of nowhere, and volunteered to take the gift to Amy. He told Serena to go to Mina, who needed her. Darien took Rini with him to the airport.

Frosty asked Mina where she was, and Mina's voice rang out from the darkness.

"Why don't you come and get me?" Frosty smiled, enjoying the challenge, and shot another blast of cold air. Frosty sensed something was hit, and small can hit the floor.

"Whoops!" Came Mina's voice again. "Froze the whipping cream!" Frosty looked around. "Up here, blizzard breath!" Frosty looked up, and saw something that wasn't encouraging.

"The Sailor Scouts!"

"That's right!" Said Sailor Moon. "I'm Sailor Moon, enemy of all that's evil. Sworn to fight for a peaceful future, we are the Sailor Scouts! We will right wrongs and triumph over evil, and that means you!" The Sailor Scouts jumped down to attack, and screamed as Frosty blew cold air at them.

Amy arrived at the airport (BGM is "Only a Memory Away"). She looked on as planes left the airport, and landed on the runway. She stood in the lobby, waiting for her plane to arrive, when she suddenly heard something. It was Rini and Darien. Rini bounced her Luna Ball.

"Kitty Power! Make a gift for Amy!" The Luna Ball created a small candy cane. When Amy touched it, it turned into a small flower. Darien handed Amy the gift from the girls, and she opened it. She was shocked by what she saw. Inside the package was a small blue power stick, and a wrist communicator. There was a note, and Amy read it.

"To Amy, you'll always be one of us. We wish you the best. Love, your friends."

Amy recalled the smiling faces of Serena, Raye, Lita and Mina, and held up the small power stick. Suddenly, she realized what she was. Her purpose right now was not to be a doctor. It was to help her friends, who were in danger. She asked Darien to give her a ride back, and he said he would. Meanwhile, Frosty seemed to be winning the battle. Darien was driving Amy, and said that the girls were on a mission. Amy could sense that the Sailor Scouts were in danger. Back at the battle, Frosty gave the Sailor Scouts one last chance to tell her where Rini was. When the Sailor Scouts didn't answer, Frosty blasted them with more cold air.

I can't believe I almost got on that plane! Amy thought, as she ran to the aid of the Sailor Scouts. What was I thinking? I can't leave the Sailor Scouts! I'm part of the team! I'm Sailor Mercury. I just hope I'm not too late!

"MERCURY STAR POWER!!!!"

Just as Frosty was about to attack the Sailor Scouts again, the door opened, and a form stood in the doorway.

"And who are you?" Asked the Droid. The Sailor Scouts all exclaimed,

"It's Sailor Mercury!"

"MERCURY ICE STORM BLAST!!!"

Frosty was caught in a torrent of wind, and Sailor Moon said,

"Are we glad to see you!" Sailor Mercury told Sailor Moon to take care of Frosty.

"MOON SCEPTER ELIMINATION!!!!"

Frosty was hit, and was reduced to a pile of blue dust. A small crystal settled on the dust, and went from light blue to black. The Sailor Scouts took time to enjoy a reunion when everyone in the basement was back to normal.

"Sailor Mercury!" Jupiter said. "We thought you were gone!"

"I could never leave you guys when you need me! We Sailor Scouts gotta stick together, right? And thanks for the presents! Came in real handy!"

Later that night, Rini was sitting with Darien, and didn't understand why Amy wasn't mad that Rini didn't see her off. Darien laughed. Meanwhile, the girls and Luna were on a bridge.

"You're sure you're okay about not going to Germany?" Serena asked. Amy replied,

"Yes. I realized I wasn't really ready to go yet. Some day I'll get my chance to study abroad, but right now, I just want to be home."

"Maybe we can go to Germany together!" Serena said.

"I bet you couldn't even find it on a map!" Quipped Luna. The girls laughed, and Serena said,

"I'll look it up, Smarty Pants! Or should I say Smarty Cat?"
