Sailor Moon episode 69

Episode title: Emerald Takes Over

On a beautiful sunny day, Serena and Rini, went out. Rini, who had gotten over her sleeping illness, was feeling better, and Luna noticed. Serena said that Rini would get a treat, and Rini was excited, that is, until Serena said,

"I thought we'd go to the park to play Hide and Seek for a little while, 'cause I'm kinda all out of money right now!"

"What? No way!" Said Rini. "You said I could have a treat!"

Serena blamed her big mouth, and started to walk from Rini and Luna, when Darien crashed into her. They stared at each other for a moment, then Rini burst between them, hugging Darien's leg, and enraging Serena.

"Hi, Darien!" Rini said excitedly. Darien picked up the kid, and said,

"Hiya, Rini. You look a hundred percent better now!"

She's at it again! Serena thought angrily. Rini said to Darien,

"Darien, can you please take me to the mall? I wanna get some paper, some glue, some scissors, and new crayons. Oh yeah, and I also need doll clothes and a doll!" Darien responded,

"Woah, slow down! Christmas here already, Rini? Just let me see if I have any money." Then, they heard Serena say something. Serena, who was growling, realized that the two were looking in her direction, so she laughed, saying that shopping was the perfect idea. She told them to go without her, then ran off, Luna in pursuit. Rini said,

"She must be sick, if she wants to do something other than shopping!"

"Maybe so." Replied Darien.

Serena ducked into a small nook, and said,

"That mangy little twerp! I can't stand how she hogs my time with Darien when she's around! Well, she can have him! Just for today, and that's it!" She began to cry. Luna said,

"If you don't go shopping with them, they'll think you've gone bonkers for sure!"

Meanwhile, on the Negamoon, Prince Diamond sat upon his throne, lying in patient wait.

"Begging your pardon, highness." A voice said. Prince Diamond looked up to see Emerald. "Our preparations are complete. Everything's in order for our trip back to the twentieth century."

"Listen to me, Emerald." Said Diamond. "For your own good, you must be extremely careful not to repeat Rubeus' mistakes."

Emerald laughed. She reassured Diamond she would not mess up like Rubeus. Sapphire appeared, and said,

"Yeah? Prove it!"

"Oh, Sapphire!" Emerald taunted. Sapphire said,

"Rubeus' biggest mistake was underestimating the Sailor Scouts. Emerald, take a look at this again! The Sailor Scouts are worthy adversaries, but we can cut them down!"

Sapphire used the pedestal that was nearby, and it showed an image of an entire army of crystal fortresses trying to attack Crystal Tokyo, but being stopped by an energy barrier. Sapphire continued.

"If Rubeus hadn't crashed and burned, and changed the Crystal Points in the twentieth century to dark power, then the Sailor Scouts and their obnoxious powers would have been significantly diminished. Now, they'll continue to be strong until our dark power is secured."

All the while, Diamond sat, inattentive, waiting patiently.

"I'm no dope about abilities, Sapphire, and I've got a foolproof scheme that will fix them for good. Even you'd get it." Said Emerald. "We just have to send enough dark power to the twentieth century to contaminate the entire planet Earth."

"Get a clue Emerald." Said Diamond. "It's not like you just to walk in and drop off enough dark power so that it will contaminate such a massive planet like Earth. Unless, the mighty gate to the Dark World can be opened."

Emerald, using the pedestal, showed Prince Diamond what her plan was: Using small Emerald-shaped statuettes called Dark Power Wedges, she would go to Earth, and find spots of dark energy. She would then place the wedges onto the points, and they would open a gate, releasing the power of the dark world onto Earth. Then, Emerald said,

"We will send the mighty power of the magnificent Dark Crystal, and color the entire planet Earth with our beautiful shade of darkness!"

She said that Sapphire had already made the Power Wedges, and would start as soon as she was given one. Sapphire made one appear, and it landed in her hands.

"Hold on to your boots, Emerald." He warned. "I've made the Dark Power Wedges, but don't waste them! I can make more if they're needed, but if you fail, don't come crying to me as Rubeus did after each of his lame attempts!"

"Oh, of course not." Said Emerald. She whispered to her fan, "The faster I can get this job done, the faster I can get back to being with Prince Hunkster!"

"Very well Emerald, I approve your plan." Said Prince Diamond. "Go, and do your best to succeed. And, go quickly."

Emerald thanked the Prince for his confidence, and before disappearing, said,

"I'll make my plan work so quickly, that you'll want to give me a personal positive reward very soon!"

Meanwhile, back on Earth, a huge crowd of girls, including Amy, Raye, Lita and Mina, who had Artemis in a basket, were crowded around a new cake shop. The grand opening special was that all the cake was free. Mina slapped Raye into the glass, offering to race her inside.

"Cakes and pastries aren't very good for you." Said Amy. "There's very little, if any, food value or vitamins, and besides, they're very high in calories and fat!"

The girls paid no mind to Amy's warning, and Mina shoved Artemis into his basket when he said that the girls would get fat.

"Don't blame me when you're bursting out of your Scout clothes!" Artemis quipped inside the basket.

Amy wondered if they should tell Serena about the place, and Raye said,

"What?! She'd just pig out on all the cakes! No way!"

Lita said that Serena would be bummed if she missed a snacking experience like this.

"Say 'I' if you're in favor of stuffing your face!" Said Mina. All the girls cried out 'I' in unison. As they filed into the shop, a woman dressed in a red jacket with a black miniskirt with sunglasses and a red fan walked down the street, catching the attention of the lecherous men nearby. It was Emerald in disguise.

I guess this is twentieth century life, how deliciously primitive! She thought. She stopped, and removed one of her earrings. It, like the earrings of Rubeus, and the Four Sisters, was shaped like a sword. She held it out, and the part that emulated the blade, which was a small black crystal, was lowered by a string, and began to swing. It pointed towards the cake shop.

At the store window, girls were still crowded around, and Serena pushed though, with Luna draped on her arm. She saw the cake, and due to feeling like trash, thanks to Rini and Darien, decided that a cake or five (thousand) would be nice. She got excited, and squished Luna against the window. Inside, people were sitting at tables, eating cake by the handful. Some people were on their third piece, some were on their ninth, and some even more. The girls were eating, and Lita said,

"This is the life!"

"It's like we survived all those battles with the enemy just for this moment!" Said Mina.

"We deserve this reward for our great work!" Said Raye. All the girls agreed.

"You'd think these bubble-heads would realize it's only cake!" Said Artemis, still in his basket. "Sardines are the rage these days!"

Lita was about to get more cake, when she looked at the service table, and saw Serena and another lady pigging out. The other lady was Emerald. Everyone in the shop stopped and stared at the two gluttons. Mina told Serena to stop, but Serena couldn't. Artemis, in the meantime, wanted out of the basket, and Luna let him out.

"Where are those nutcase girls?" Asked Artemis. Luna said she wasn't sure. Meanwhile, Lita and Raye were holding Serena, trying to stop her from eating. Serena pushed them away, pushing Lita into Emerald. Emerald was angry for a moment, then started to eat the cake again. She stopped when she noticed all the people who had locked their eyes on her. She laughed, hid behind her fan, and walked out. She hid behind a corner, and said to herself,

"I'm feeling so awkward! I can't believe I lost control! And all because of that delicious thing they call cake!" She sank, and hid her face in her knees. "It must be a plot to get me! Fine! They're fools if they think they can outsmart me! I'll give those girls a good reason to fear and loath me!" She laughed, sweeping her fan over face, which ridded her of her sunglasses, revealing her Negamoon crescent, and swept her fan over her body, changing her back to her original form.

"Hate to admit it," Amy said, "but these cakes are giving me energy!"

"You got that right!" Replied Lita. "And for sure, they've got Serena fooled into believing that she'd rather have a big butt than be with Darien, don't you think?"

Serena was really eating, and complaining about how Rini burst in between she and Darien.

"Mina, please tell me what you think I should do!" She screamed, grabbing Mina's face. Mina said,

"I just pigged out beyond control! Just slap me if I reach for a cake again!"

"That's weird." Raye said, looking towards the rest of the shop. "Why's everyone asleep on the job?" Serena fell into Raye's arms, crying.

In the kitchen, all the workers were asleep. There was only Emerald standing. She held out her earring again, and it dropped, suspended only by a string. Another glowing string fell from the crystal, and went into the floor. It showed that the point was there, and Emerald replaced the earring, and called upon one of the Dark Power Wedges. It appeared, and planted itself into the point specified by her earring. On the Negamoon, Diamond watched as the power of the Dark Crystal was being fed into the Power Wedge.

"My perfect plan is working!" Emerald said. "I feel the dark power from the future! Droido Larzenhan!"

With that call a Droid (ED: Monsters not seen for a long time!) appeared. It had a strange appearance, resembling snack foods. Emerald said,

"Love your get-up! You're gonna wow 'em in the kitchen. Maybe something a tad more subtle would be the way to go, honey. Now, have fun, but be a dear. Keep it neat, so people don't notice us while we do our thing!"

The Droido changed into a waitress, while Emerald sprinkled strange dust on the cakes with her fan.

"Hey, guys, thanks for knocking some sense into me!" Said Serena at the girls' table. "I won't get upset again!" The girls laughed.

"Yummy! Desserts!" Said a voice. It was Rini with Darien. When Serena asked what the child was doing there, Rini replied, "Everyone's here! Wow! Serena, did you eat as much as a fat heard of elephants?"

"How dare you say anything about what I ate!" Serena shot back. "But, you're the reason I ate so much!"

"What do you mean?" Rini retorted.

"You know very well what I mean!" Serena said. She and Rini stuck their tongues out at each other. Darien tried to leave, but something caught his attention. All around the shop, the girls were changing into cakes. It caught the attention of the girls, and when a waitress came out of the kitchen, Darien tried to stop her. The waitress changed into Droido Larzenhan, and Darien readied himself for a fight. Nearby, Serena and Rini were fighting over a piece of cake. Darien said,

"Serena, don't eat the cake! Something's wrong!"

Serena suddenly had hearts in her eyes, and said,

"Oh wow! Happy day! He still cares about me!" Raye told Serena to get a grip. Rini got the cake, and Serena was embarrassed. The Droido shot a spray of icing at the group and hit a plant near Serena, changing it into a giant ice cream cone. Serena freaked out. Darien told the girls to get Rini out of the shop. Mina told Rini to go, and Serena said,

"But, we're the..."

Darien interrupted, telling the girls to go, and they did. The Droido tried to hit Rini, and girls stopped running. They had no choice. Amy told Luna and Artemis to take Rini to a safe place. Rini and the cats left, and the girls transformed.

"MOON CRYSTAL POWER!!"

"MARS STAR POWER!!"

"MERCURY STAR POWER!!"

"JUPITER STAR POWER!!"

"VENUS STAR POWER!!"

"Sailor Mars!"

"Sailor Mercury!"

"Sailor Jupiter!"

"Sailor Venus!"

"Sailor Moon!"

The Droid almost hit Darien with her high heel, but hit the ground. A voice shouted,

"Stop right there!" It was Sailor Moon and the Sailor Scouts.

"Look at us! We're Sailor Scouts of Goodness!" Shouted Sailor Mars.

"We fight for justice and against evil!" Added Sailor Mercury.

"You haven't got a heart or a soul!" Said Sailor Venus.

"You take delight in tormenting others!" Shouted Sailor Jupiter.

"So, Miss Baghands, take your punishment in the name of the Moon!" Said Sailor Moon.

The Droido shot a spray of icing at the Sailor Scouts, and missed, hitting a chair.

"MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND!"

The Droido dodged the fire rings, and shot another spray at Sailor Mars, turning her partially into icing. When Sailor Moon went to help, she was hit too. Sailor Moon said the icing was too sweet, even for her, and Sailor Mars said,

"I'll never eat anything sweet again!"

Sailor Jupiter threw her Thundercloud Zap at the Droido (No sequence, or naming of the attack, however!), and it was stopped by a barrage of snack foods, shot by the Droido. The Droido hit Sailor Jupiter, and she was entangled in donuts that surrounded her body. Sailor Venus ran to her aid.

"She's fast!" Said Jupiter. "You'd better do something quickly Venus!"

Sailor Mercury told Venus that the core of the Droido was soft like jelly, and could be easily trashed. Venus attacked.

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN ENCIRCLE!"

The chain of energy missed, and the Droido hit Venus, encasing her in cake. Then, the Droido covered Sailors Mars and Moon in more icing, and the Droido threw a candy rose at the trapped Sailor Scouts. It was stopped when it was smashed by a real rose. It was Tuxedo Mask.

"You used sweets to make decay when really they're meant to make people happy! You tainted all their sweet moments instead, didn't you?" He said. Sailor Moon didn't understand what he was saying. He went on. "Sweets can be used to melt troubles away for a while, but there are also times when sweets can melt themselves!"

"What a dufus!" Said Sailor Moon. "Why is he going on like this?"

Mercury, in a state of elucidation, said,

"Maybe he's trying to tell me that because she's made of cake, my Mercury power might work!"

The Droido sprayed icing at Sailor Mercury, and Mercury countered (Never thought you'd see this power in the English dub of Sailor Moon, did ya?)

"SHINE AQUA ILLUSION!"

The stream of ice, and the stream of icing combated, but Sailor Mercury quickly overcame the Droido. The Droido was severely weakened, and everyone was freed. Sailor Moon finished the job.

"MOON SCEPTER ACTIVATION!!"

Like all other Droids before it, Larzenhan fell into a pile of dust, the crystal on it's head going black.

In the kitchen were Emerald was, the small Power Wedge fell over and broke. She wondered what was going on, and the kitchen workers began to wake up. Emerald cursed her bad luck, and disappeared. She peered through a door and looked at all the people in the shop, acting normally.

"Don't you know it's rude to spy on others?" Came a voice. Emerald turned to see Tuxedo Mask and the Sailor Scouts.

"And who are you?" Said Emerald. She smiled. "Oh, and you are, well, so handsome."

Tuxedo Mask backed away, and Sailor Moon said,

"Stop flirting with him, you tawdry turnip!"

"I guess you're the one who's controlling that dried up pastry bag Droido!" Said Sailor Mars.

Emerald said she didn't expect that her adversaries would be little girls in Sailor outfits.

"We're not girls!" Sailor Moon said. Jupiter said,

"Younger for sure, but way smarter than you, you old hag!"

"How dare you call me an old hag!" Shouted Emerald. "I'm the most beautiful woman in the universe!" She looked at each of the Sailor Scouts, each poised to fight. "For your information, toddlers, I'm the highest ranking officer of the Dark Moon, and the Commander in Chief of this twentieth century operation. I have way more credentials than Rubeus!" The Sailor Scouts dropped their defensive poses as Emerald went on. "In fact, all men of the universe kneel down before me, because I am the strongest, in all the worlds anywhere in space!" She began to laugh her trademark shrill, and the Sailor Scouts covered her ears. Sailor Venus said,

"Not only does her attitude bite, but so does her voice!"

"I'll leave now, girls," said Emerald, "but I'll be back to beat you. Remember, my name is Emerald!" She leapt up into the air, and disappeared. The Sailor Scouts looked on.

"Emerald." Said Sailor Moon.

"Well," said Sailor Jupiter, "she's quite a loud enemy, so I guess we'll know when she's here!"
