Sailor Moon episode 71

Episode title: No Thanks, Nurse Venus!

Raye was on the phone with Lita. Raye sounded really sick, and Lita was home in bed herself. A flu had been going around, and all the girls were sick, except Mina. All of a sudden, Mina burst in Raye's door, scaring Raye half to death. Mina was shaking a basket she was carrying, and Raye could here Artemis yelping in pain with each swing. Lita heard Mina's voice over the phone, and hung up. She looked at her house, and said,

"I guess it's Raye's turn to get 'The Treatment'. Mina totally annihilated my room!"

Lita looked at her home, to see a huge mess of food, kleenex, and almost everything else.

"Here's your soup!" Mina said cheerfully, as she walked into Raye's bedroom. "I hope it's hot enough this time!"

"This time?!" Raye said. "What does she mean?"

Artemis, who had quite an array of large bumps on his head, explained,

"She made soup for Amy and Lita. Amy's was like glue, and Lita's was way too cold."

"So I made some mistakes." Mina said. "But I think trying counts! Anyway, this time, it should be just right!"

She set the bowl down on Raye's lap, and Raye looked at it ruefully. She looked up at Mina, who was beaming with enthusiasm, ready to see Raye try her soup. Raye summoned all her bravery, and ate the soup. Everything was silent for a moment.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!"

Raye screamed, and a huge tongue of fire flew out of her mouth, and she fainted. Mina wondered what was wrong, and Artemis tried the soup. He gagged, and told Mina the soup was too spicy. Mina, embarrassed, said,

"Uuhh, maybe eat it with ice water? Oh, come on, give me a chance!"

"I don't think we can survive a chance!" Quipped Artemis.

Raye wanted to rest, so Mina tried to lift the bowl of soup off the bed, and ended up spilling it on Raye. Then, Mina tried to straighten the blankets, succeeding only in flinging Raye off the bed.

"Poor Raye!" Said Artemis. "Try not to get upset with the klutzoid queen! She means well!"

"She does, does she?!" Raye said. "Well, with friends like her, who needs Emerald?"

Mina finished making the bed, and told Raye to take her rest. Then, Mina had an idea.

"I brought this great 'Sounds of the Sea' tape." She said, pointing to a tiny cassette in her hand. "It'll help relax you." She turned to Raye's Tape player, and started poking at it, wondering how it worked. With an exclaimed 'Ah ha!', she hit a switch, and the player began to play loud music, frightening Raye and Artemis.

"This doesn't sound like my Sea tape!" Mina shouted. She began to push all the buttons on the tape deck, and it exploded in her face, in a huge jet of fire. She laughed embarrassed, and Raye was furious. The tape deck didn't survive, but the tape itself did. Mina was accordingly thrown out by Raye, with Artemis in pursuit.

"So I made a small mess at Raye's house." Mina said, as she and Artemis walked through the streets of Tokyo. Everyone around them had masks on. "I know I can be much more careful at Serena's house."

Artemis began to panic, in fear for Serena. Mina told Artemis that Serena's family needed help, because everyone was sick, and she was just the person to help out.

Meanwhile, Emerald was standing in front of one of her Dark Power Wedges. It was already grown to a tremendous height, and Emerald laughed.

"Dark Power is building well. Very soon, the Dark Gate will be completely opened, and I'll be able to return to Diamond. I can't wait to show him my lovely handiwork, so it had better go as I have planned!"

"Huh? She trashed out your house too?" Said Serena. She was on the phone with Raye, who was issuing a warning to Serena about Mina. Serena said that Amy and Lita called with warnings too.

"You can't let her in!" Raye said. "Just lock the doors and save yourself!"

"But, maybe she can help with Rini, because she's still not sick." Said Serena. Just then, Rini screamed, and Serena went to see what was wrong. Rini was cleaning a large sheet, and had flung over the railing of the balcony. Serena's mother pulled Rini up into the balcony again, and told her to go play. Rini said she wanted to help.

"Rini, as if you could really do the laundry!" Said Serena. "When did you become Miss Helpful?"

"But that's not nice to say, and talk about being useless!" Rini shot back.

"What?! Me?!" Serena retaliated. "Who almost broke every bone in her body, not to mention losing a sheet?"

Serena's mother told Rini and Serena to keep the noise down while she rested.

"If I can't do laundry, can I make you a meal instead?" Rini asked. Serena said to herself,

"Isn't there anybody I can dump Rini off on until I'm better?"

"There's me!" Came a voice. Serena and Rini looked down to see a cloaked figure, draped in the sheet that Rini had lost. The sheet was removed, revealing Mina.

"Venus to the rescue!"

"Oh, hi Mina." Serena greeted. Mina leaped all the way from Serena's porch to the balcony. She said,

"Not only can Nurse Venus leap tall balconies in a single bound," she stated, "but she can also take care of Rini, and nurse your entire family back to health!" Mina pointed at Serena, similar to when she fires her Crescent Beam.

"From what I hear," said Serena, "you taking care of Rini would be a miracle enough for us!"

Mina told Serena to go back to bed, and Serena tried to tell Mina she was fine. She ended up going to bed.

"It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if she happened to catch it herself." Artemis muttered.

In Serena's room, Serena and Luna were resting, both sick. Artemis asked Luna if she was okay, and Luna said,

"No, I'm feeling tired, sick and gloomy, and I envy you, Artemis." Artemis looked perplexed. "You know what they say: 'A fool never catches a cold'!" Artemis snarled.

Mina opened the door, with Rini. They were both dressed in nurse outfits.

"We will nurse you back to perfect health, everyone!" Mina said with a smile. Serena, Luna, and Artemis were all aghast. Mina walked up to Serena, and, playing the nurse, asked Serena how she was feeling. Serena gave no response, and Mina said,

"Great! Rini, hand me a thermometer, would you please?"

Rini saluted Mina, and turned to her Luna Ball.

"LUNA-P MAGIC!!"

The Luna-P changed into a medical kit, and Rini handed Mina a thermometer. She jammed it into Serena's mouth, and took out a large stopwatch. The watch gave four beeps, and Mina removed the thermometer. It read 37.5. Mina began shaking the thermometer, and asked Rini if the battery was working. Suddenly, Mina lost her grip on the thermometer, and smashed Serena's window. Cold wind gusted around Serena's room, and Mina patched up the hole by taping a piece of paper over the hole.

"Now, Serena, I'll bet you're hungry!" She said. Serena began to panic, and thought that if Mina made anything to eat, she was toast. Serena refused, and Mina decided to put on some music, while Artemis freaked out. Mina was about to put in the CD, when she said,

"Boy Artemis, you're such a party pooper! No one's giving me any credit around here!"

Rini wanted to help too, but Serena said that she was fine, and maybe her mother needed help. When Mina and Rini left, Serena sighed. Suddenly, she heard a huge crash, and the paper that covered the window came off. Serena, freezing, said,

"And they say I'm a big klutz!"

Downstairs, Mina and Rini got ready to do the chores. First, they tried to wash the dishes, but broke more than they washed. Then, they tried the laundry, but used too much detergent. Next, they tried vacuuming, but Rini lost control of the vacuum. Mina tried to move some flowers for dusting, but dropped the vase. Then, Rini was fiddling with the vacuum while Mina tried to clean some windows. Serena and her mother looked on. Serena's mother went to rest, and Serena said,

"What dufuses! Now, I have to fix this!"

Mina and Rini stopped when Serena collapsed to the floor.

Serena and Darien were out to dinner, and it was Darien's birthday. Serena was happy. Suddenly, the images of the other girls began to float by.

"This is a dream, you space-brain!" Shouted Raye, just as Serena and Darien were about to kiss.

"Why am I floating around in your dream?" Asked Amy as she sailed by.

"Stop this dream! You're acting like a silly lovesick pup!" Said Raye as her face appeared.

"Stop dreaming, I have other places to be!" Said Lita when she appeared.

"Wake up and smell the chicken soup!" Shouted the images of Rini and Mina. Suddenly, with a pop, Darien disappeared, and fell away from Serena. Serena was kneeling on the ground, and was suddenly surrounded by a ring of fire. She tried desperately to put it out, but was completely surrounded. She felt too hot, and was suddenly splashed with water. Serena woke up with a start, and a wet rag fell into her lap. Mina, who was in the middle of grabbing the rag off Serena's forehead, froze in her position. Serena was in her bed, and Mina was watching over her. Rini was asleep, and the window was patched up with more paper and tape.

"I was just trying to change the wet cloth on your forehead." She said gently. "I'm so sorry I woke you up, Serena."

"Have you managed to take care of Rini and all this time by yourself, Mina?"

"Yeah." Mina said, grabbing the cloth, and putting it into a water pan. "But it's no big deal. Rini helped out a bit."

"Why are you being so helpful, even though you seem so bad at it?"

"Oh, I know I'm bad at it." Mina replied. "But I feel I should take care of my friends. Especially you, Princess Serena."

"So, you caring for me because I'm Princess of the Moon?"

"No. I like who you are. You're a ditz sometimes, but you make everyone around you feel like they're special. You're one of a kind, though we don't know what kind, and I just can't ignore you when you need help."

Serena understood, and Rini awoke, asking Serena if she was over her fever. Mina said Serena was over it, and thanked Rini for all her help, saying she did a great job. Serena was dumbfounded, and Rini said it was fun to help. She asked Mina if it was time to go to the hospital for medicine, and they went to get it.

"Amazing! They actually helped!" Serena said when Mina and Rini left. She smiled at her loyal friend.

At the hospital, all the staff were unconscious. Emerald appeared behind Droido Injector, who was overlooking the growing Power Wedge. The Droido's plan was to give all the patients pills, and inject them with dark energy. The Power Wedge continued to grow.

Mina and Rini arrived at the hospital, and noticed that the place was quiet. Rini went to the reception desk, and saw that no one was there. She ran into one of the halls, and called out for the doctors. Emerald and Injector, who were disguised as doctors, heard the kid, and Emerald was infuriated that anyone was there. Rini came in.

"Hi, hi! Please answer me!" She said. "I've come to pick up some medicine! Can you give me some?"

Emerald replied,

"Of course, but first, I think you should get a flu shot yourself, so you don't catch the flu that's been going around!"

Emerald took out a needle, and it frightened Rini. Emerald told Injector to hold the kid down, and she did. Emerald sprayed some of the medicine from the needle, and that clinched it for Rini. She cried loudly, and fired off the Moonbeam. Emerald was surprised that the child was Rini, and Mina heard Rini's cries. Across the city, all the girls saw the beam.

"VENUS STAR POWER!"

"Fancy meeting you in a place like this. What incredible luck!" Gloated Emerald. She told Injector to get Rini, and Injector changed to her Droido form, which was a person with a scalpel for one arm, and a syringe on the other. She was about to attack Rini, when a voice stopped her. She looked up to see a silhouette. It was Sailor Venus.

"You've terrorized innocent children, and spread your evil power throughout the world! You're worthless trash, and it's time to throw you out! I fight for love, and I fight for justice too! So, you'd better look out for Sailor Venus! I shall punish you on behalf of Venus!"

"You twit!" Said Emerald. "I suppose that you think you've located our dark power here too, do you?"

"Of course!" Replied Venus. Rini was taken aback.

"Why, you bothersome Sailor Brats!" Shot Emerald. "Have you also known of our plan to spread a dangerous flu virus throughout the city from this very hospital?"

"Certainly!" Replied Venus. "We've known it all along!"

What's she talking about? Rini thought. She didn't know any of that! She's really smart, or she's just fooling us!

Emerald told Injector to get Sailor Venus.

Meanwhile, Luna and Artemis were telling Serena to go back home. She, along with the other girls had seen the Moonbeam, and were trying, despite their sickness, tried to help Rini.

"VENUS CRESCENT BEAM SMASH!"

The Crescent Beam missed the Droido, and swung at Sailor Venus with her scalpel. Venus leaped out of the way, and counter attacked.

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN ENCIRCLE!"

Venus wrapped her chain around Injector's scalpel, and Injector shot a syringe at Venus. Sailor Venus' chain was released, and Venus dodged the giant needle. Injector fired more at the hapless Sailor, pinning her to the wall. Emerald laughed.

"Game's over now, Love Child!" She said. She turned to Injector, and said, "Injector, stick the kid first!"

Injector fired a syringe at Rini, who began to run. When she tripped, the needle closed in, then stopped, accompanying a smashing sound. The needle lie on the ground, split in two. Between the pieces was a small red rose. It was Tuxedo Mask.

"A hospital is a shelter for people who are ill and need help!" He said. "You abused it's nurturing purposes to assist you in your evil ways instead!"

Both Rini and Venus were happy to see Tuxedo Mask. Emerald was furious. She told Injector to get Tuxedo Mask, and Injector shot another syringe.

"JUPITER THUNDERCLAP ZAP!"

The syringe was destroyed.

"MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!"

A fog surrounded Emerald, and the Sailor Scouts appeared around her.

"You made us all really sick, you slimy, wicked old troll!" Shouted Sailor Mars.

Sailor Jupiter said, "And now, you must accept your reward!"

"How are you all able to do this?" Venus asked the Sailor Scouts. "You should still be in bed!"

"We're a whole lot better now, Venus!" Replied Sailor Moon.

"Yeah!" Said Mars. "Thanks to your efforts, as pathetic as they were!"

"We do appreciate all your efforts and good cheer!" Said Mercury.

"Yeah!" Continued Jupiter. "Thanks a lot, Sailor Venus!"

"Now, I'm ill!" Said Emerald. She leapt out of the circle of Sailors, and told Injector to get the Sailor Scouts. The Sailor Scouts attacked first.

"MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND!"

The rings of fire hit Injector, and it was Sailor Moon's turn. She was about to use her power, but she faltered, as her fever was getting to her. Tuxedo Mask said,

"Cheer up, Sailor Moon!" He said. "I strongly believe in you, Sailor Moon. And, I have a place for you in my heart."

Way cool! Thought Sailor Moon. She said, "Thanks for your confidence, Tuxedo Mask."

"MOON SCEPTER ACTIVATION!"

The Droido was reduced to dust.

"Way to go, Sailor Moon!" Said Mercury.

"You stuck her!" Said Mars.

"Excuse me?" Came Venus' voice. The Sailor Scouts looked over to see Sailor Venus still pinned against the wall. "Hate to break up the nice 'aren't we the best?' session," she said, "but, Get Me Off Of Here!"

"Oops! Sorry, Mina!" Said Sailor Moon. "We kind of forgot!"

"Well, some things never change!" Replied Venus. "Get me down!" The Sailor Scouts laughed at Venus.

In an office in the back of the hospital, Emerald watched as her Dark Power Wedge fell, and smashed itself. Emerald, furious, disappeared.

"So, all the people got rid of the flu, and the city was restored to its normal hustle and bustle." Said Artemis, in a stuffed nose. He and Mina were at home, sick. Mina told Artemis to be quiet. Luna walked up to Artemis, and said,

"But, you should feel happy! Since you caught a cold, it means you're no longer a fool!"

"Hi! Your nurses are here!" Serena chimed, as she and Rini came through the door. Mina was given a dish of soup, and Mina tried it. She wretched, but ate it anyway. Serena was happy that Mina "liked" it, and Rini wanted to take her temperature. Serena said that Mina was busy eating, and she and Rini began to fight. Mina shouted,

"Please just leave me alone!"
