Sailor Moon episode 74

Episode title: Child's Play

Rini was sick in bed, and fast asleep. Luna and Artemis were watching over her. Rini woke up, and Luna asked Rini how she felt. Rini replied,

"Pretty good!"

She got up, and took the wet rag on her forehead into her hand.

"Hey, do you think I'm okay to go to school tomorrow?" She asked. Luna chuckled, and said,

"You're not like Serena!"

Meanwhile, Serena was walking up the hallway to her room. Rini was about to talk about her new friend, Melissa. She popped into the doorway to see Luna, Artemis and Rini.

"Hello, Rini!" Serena chimed happily. "How ya doin'?"

"I'm doing okay!" Said Rini. "I'm feeling a lot better!"

Serena said she was glad, and had brought someone over who could cheer her up. In came Amy, Raye, Lita and Mina, and they all greeted Rini.

"And we brought you a little treat!" Said Amy, showing Rini a small box. Rini wanted to know what it was, and Serena said,

"And, we brought you another surprise! And, behind door number one..."

Rini looked downwards to see Melissa, her new friend. Rini leapt out of bed, knocking over the stools that the cats were on, and scampered to Melissa, and hugged her. Melissa asked Rini if she was coming to school, and Rini said,

"I hope so! Maybe tomorrow!"

Serena looked at the two, and smiled. Rini was back in her bed, and Melissa was at the bedside on a stool telling Rini of the days events. She missed her classmate, Matt Pryor, cheating on a spelling test and getting caught.

"He got caught?!" Said Rini excitedly. "Oh! I wish I could've seen it!"

"He tried to swallow his cheat sheet!" Said Melissa.

"Miss Jones must be really steamed with him!" Rini said.

"Oh, she sure was!" Melissa replied. "She had to chase him around the room!"

The girls were nearby watching.

"Wow, nice to see her so happy!" Said Raye. Mina smiled, and said,

"Yeah! I'm glad she finally found a friend!"

"And someone her own age!" Said Lita. "Poor kid must have been awfully lonely!"

Amy put her finger to her chin.

"I know it's great, and everything." She said. "But, Rini's got dangerous enemies!"

The girls were brought out of their high spirits in an instant, and Rini laughed with her friend.

That night, in a park, one of Emerald's Power Wedges was growing quickly. From the ground, a pile of rock rose up, became crystal, and formed a man. He wore a sleeveless shirt, with pants, and the fashionable Negamoon Family earrings. His hair was white, and he had the Negamoon crescent on his forehead. He chuckled at the Power Wedge. He powered up himself, and released a burst of energy at it. The power sent waves of disruptive energy outwards, corrupting everything in its wake. The trees died.

Meanwhile, in another part of the city, another of Emerald's Power Wedges had been collecting energy. This one was on top of a school. A man similar to the man guarding the other Power Wedge was overlooking the already gargantuan Emerald-shaped statue.

"Well, Master Doom, you're energy void appears to be working." Said Emerald, whose voice rang out behind the man.

"Of course it does, Emerald!" Doom replied. Emerald appeared.

"And what about your brother, Gloom?"

"Working on his own void." Replied Doom. Emerald was pleased. She sauntered up beside Doom, and said,

"Let me warn you boys. My other agents all had brilliant plans too, and they all failed. And if there's one thing I can't tolerate, it's failure! Let's just hope you don't fail me too!"

She called each by name, and told them to get rid of the Sailor Scouts. The disappeared, and Emerald thought to herself, I certainly hope this works. This tedious war is getting rather boring! She laughed, her voice echoing in the night.

"Oh no!" Rini screamed. "I'm late for school!" She and Luna ran to her school. "Why didn't you wake me up on time, Luna?" Rini screamed. "It's all your fault!"

"I did wake you up!" Luna replied. "It's not my fault you chose to stay in bed!"

Rini and Luna arrived at Rini's school, and ran for the front door. They both slowed to a halt, when they heard a lot of noise coming from the playground. They went to take a look. Luna's jaw dropped, and Rini stared in horror as they feasted their eyes on the sight they saw. Clouds of dust rose high into the air, as all the children that went to Rini's school were fighting each other.

"School's already started." Rini said. "So, why is everybody still outside playing?"

"I wouldn't call this playing, Rini!" Luna replied. "This is a slug-fest!"

Rini looked in surprise at Luna. She looked back to the playground to see Melissa against a wall, cornered by a boy who was much larger than she. Melissa didn't look afraid, and stood her ground. Rini ran to help her friend, and the boy threatened Melissa. Melissa still stood her ground, and Rini stopped running, surprised at Melissa's pugnacity.

"What do you want?" Melissa screamed, her eyes flashing red for a second. Rini was immediately shocked, and drew back. Melissa told Rini to go away, and Rini asked why she was acting like she was. Melissa answered Rini by tripping her. Melissa laughed, and ran into the school. Luna watched the entire thing, and said to herself,

"She's certainly not like she was yesterday!" Just then, Luna saw a flash of light, and looked to the top of the school. She saw dark waves of energy being emitted from the rooftop.

"Caterwauling Catfish!" She exclaimed. "What was that?" Artemis, who appeared out of nowhere, said,

"Obviously, it's the Negamoon, Fur Brain!" Luna shot back, saying,

"Aren't you the big one, Tuna Breath!"

Inside the school, all the windows were smashed, all the desks were turned upside down, and some chairs from the classrooms made it into the hallways. Rini looked into the ruins of her classroom, and began to call out for Melissa. Suddenly, she was cornered by Melissa, her teacher, and her entire class. The teacher was holding a large metal ruler. The class began to chase Rini around the room, and right above them, on the rooftop, Doom stood by the Power Wedge laughing.

Rini ran through her school, and into a classroom that had not been destroyed. She slammed the door, and heard the angry shouts of her class, as the passed by. She sighed, relieved, and was startled by a noise. It was Luna and Artemis. Rini asked what was happening, and just as Artemis was about to explain, Melissa opened the door. She was holding a mop, and Rini and the cats quickly hid. Melissa looked around the room, and saw nothing, so she closed the door, and moved on. Rini, Luna and Artemis came out from behind a desk.

"Why her?" Rini pleaded. "Why Melissa?"

"Emerald's gotta be behind it! I know it!" Said Artemis. Luna hopped onto the desk, and said,

"I'm afraid you're right, Artemis. We need Serena and the Scouts!" Artemis agreed. "Come on, Rini." Luna said. "We've got to get out of here!"

"I'm not leaving!" Rini said. Luna was surprised. "Luna, I can't just run away and leave Melissa like this!" Rini said. "I'm gonna stick it out, and this time, I'm gonna fight!"

Luna smiled at Rini's tenacity.

"I understand." She said. "It's different when your friends are in trouble, isn't it?"

Serena was alarmed that someone was attacking Rini's school. Artemis had reached Serena, Amy and Lita at their school. He told them to go, and Amy said they'd be there. Just then, they got a call on the communicator from Mina.

"Negamoon alert, Scouts!" She said. "Major trouble at Mayfair Park!"

"What?!" Serena said. "Two Negamoon attacks at once? What should we do?"

"I think Lita I should cover Mayfair Park, and you get over to Rini's school!" Replied Amy. "She'll want you there!" Serena agreed.

"MOON CRYSTAL POWER!!!"

"MERCURY STAR POWER!"

"JUPITER STAR POWER!"

Sailor Venus looked at the huge Power Wedge that had been growing in Mayfair Park. She was with Sailor Mars.

"What in the world...?" Venus exclaimed.

"I've never seen anything like this!" Said Mars. "Have you?"

"Looks like they want to finish off once and for all!" Replied Venus.

The two Sailor Scouts didn't see a man appear behind them. It was Gloom, and he was bent on beating the two Sailors. He challenged them to stop their plan.

A chair flew out a window of Rini's school, smashing it to pieces. Sailor Moon and Artemis, who had just arrived on the scene, saw it, and Sailor Moon asked what it was. Artemis replied,

"I don't believe this! The evil emanating from this place has tripled in just a few minutes!"

Meanwhile, in Mayfair Park...

"VENUS LOVE CHAIN ENCIRCLE!"

The Chain of Love flew towards Gloom, but he punched the ground. That caused a wall of rock to form, and the chain smashed into it.

"MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND!"

The rings of Mars flew towards the rock, and blew it to pieces, while Gloom leapt out of the way. Suddenly, without warning, someone appeared.

"SHINE AQUA ILLUSION!"

The blast of icy water flew at Gloom, but ultimately missed.

"Your efforts are futile!" Gloom taunted. "We'll settle the score at Harbour Elementary! You haven't met my big brother yet! He'll be there to greet you. Doom is waiting for you, Sailor Scouts!" He disappeared, laughing.

"Harbour Elementary?" Venus said.

"Oh no!" Mars exclaimed. "That's where Rini goes!"

Sailor Moon ran through Harbour Elementary, looking for Rini. She popped her head into one of the doors, and called out.

"Rini, come on, it's me, Serena!" She looked around the room. It was completely empty. She walked in, and closed the door behind her. "Rini!" She called. "It's me, Sailor Moon!" The room was still empty. Suddenly, a skeleton nearby moved, and called out Sailor Moon's name. Sailor Moon jumped, startled. Then, the skeleton began moving towards her, calling out,

"Sailor Moon!"

The skeleton wrapped its arms around Sailor Moon, and Sailor Moon shrieked. She quickly calmed down, as she felt something around her waist. It was Rini. Sailor Moon looked down at the child and smiled. Then, she saw some dust fall onto Rini's head, and she looked up. Standing right before her was Gloom. He smiled, and tried to smash Sailor Moon's head with his hand. He missed, and Sailor Moon ran out of the classroom with Rini in tow. Waiting in the hall behind Sailor Moon was Doom.

"So, you're Sailor Moon!" Doom said.

"Who do you think you are?" Sailor Moon shouted. "A school's not a battle zone, it's a place for learning and achieving! Well," she continued, "at least for some, it is! In the name of..."

"Cool it, Moon Face!" Doom interrupted. "You haven't got a chance against us!"

With that, Doom's brother, Gloom appeared. Sailor Moon, Rini, Luna and Artemis were all becoming terrified. While Gloom stayed where he was, Doom leapt over the small huddle, and landed on the opposite side. Rini looked over to Gloom, and saw Melissa standing with her mop, and smiling viciously. Rini wanted to go to her friend, but Luna and Artemis told her to stop. Artemis said,

"She can't hear you, so she won't hear you!"

Rini became angry, and charged at Gloom. He was about to blast Rini, but was interrupted.

"MERCURY BUBBLES BLAST!"

A mist covered the hallway, and the Sailor Scouts appeared.

"Hey, Tweedle Doom and Tweedle Gloom!" Shouted Jupiter.

"You may be stronger than we are." Said Mercury. "But, we've got love on our side!"

"Well, isn't that touching?" Doom said, undaunted. He raised his hand to his chest and disappeared. The Sailor Scouts ran to Sailor Moon's aid, and saw that Gloom still remained.

"Better get ready for your own doom, Pretty boy!" Taunted Mars. Mercury shouted,

"We're winning this fight!"

Gloom laughed, and sent Melissa to finish the Scouts. Rini tried to run to her friend, but Sailor Mars stopped her. Jupiter heard something behind them, and saw Doom fire an energy bolt at them. It hit Jupiter, electrocuting her, and while the Sailor Scouts were distracted, Gloom made a wall of energy that began to electrocute them all.

Rini ran to Melissa, who was also being hurt, and hugged her. Suddenly, the crescent moon on her forehead glowed, and the light negated the energy wall.

"What is this energy?" Doom asked.

"Small Lady!" Answered Gloom. The moon on Rini's forehead disappeared, and Melissa woke up.

"Hi, Rini." She said. "What happened? And who trashed our school?"

Just then, gloom fired a shot of black lightning at the pair, and Melissa shoved Rini out of the way. She took the hit. As she fell to the ground, a memory came rushing back to Rini.

Dark shadows appeared in the sky, and emitted black lightning, destroying the city called Crystal Tokyo. In the royal palace, Rini's mother shielded her from the blast as one of the shadows hit her... (First sight of Rini's mother)

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Rini's yell triggered an energy in her that was more powerful than before. She emitted intense energy from the crescent moon on her forehead, which became more and more intense by the second.

On the Negamoon, the ancient Dark Crystal began to glow. Wiseman could sense a power on Earth, and it startled Prince Diamond.

The light intensified, and buried the school in an inferno of dazzling brilliance. Doom and Gloom were blasted clear out of a window.

"How could she be so strong?" Shouted Gloom. Inside the school, Rini's power faded, and she collapsed. The Sailor Scouts caught her, and Sailor Mercury said,

"I can't believe it! Her powers are incredible!"

Sailor Moon told Mercury to take care of Rini while she took out Doom and Gloom.

Meanwhile, on the Negamoon, Diamond and Wiseman were overlooking the Dark Crystal.

"Small Lady's powers are astonishing!" Wiseman said. "She could make a great ally!"

"What are you saying?" Diamond asked.

"Her powers are much too valuable to lose!" Wiseman replied.

"Our path is clear." Said Diamond. "We must turn her to our side."

Neither Wiseman nor Diamond noticed Sapphire listening from behind a pillar.

Back on Earth, the Sailor Scouts were getting ready to fight Doom and Gloom. They rose from the ground behind the Sailor Scouts, and got ready to attack. Suddenly, there were stopped by a flash of light. Tuxedo Mask appeared.

"This evil twin thing is getting really stale!" He said. "You need to learn a little respect for our schools and education!"

"Tuxedo Mask!" Cried Sailor Moon.

"Come on, Sailor Moon." Tuxedo Mask called. "Why don't you show these arrogant flunkies a little respect?"

"MOON SCEPTER ACTIVATION!"

Doom and Gloom were sinking into the ground to escape.

"JUPITER THUNDERCLAP ZAP!"

Jupiter sent the power of the Thunderclap Zap into the ground, and it tore the cement to shreds, hitting Doom and Gloom. Sailor Moon fired her shot from her Moon Scepter, and Doom and Gloom, along with the Power Wedges, were destroyed.

"You obnoxious little germs!" Screamed Emerald, appearing over the Sailor Scouts. "You ruined another one of my plans! You're gonna pay, Sailor Brats!"

Emerald broke her fan into two pieces, and changed them into bolts of energy. She was about to hurl them at the Sailor Scouts, when Diamond interrupted her, contacting her telepathically.

"Prince Diamond!" Emerald said. "Why are you stopping me?"

"We're changing our strategy." Replied Diamond. "Come back immediately, Emerald!"

Emerald was shocked at Diamond's orders, but obeyed her command. She disappeared. Sailor Moon looked on.

Later, the girls and Rini were visiting Melissa, who was in the school infirmary. Rini asked if it hurt, and Melissa reassured her that it wasn't bad.

"Now," Melissa said, "I'm the one who's in bed, and you're the one visiting!" She laughed, and so did Rini. At sunset, Rini stood atop the school, looking at the sun. The girls stood behind her.

"I'm gonna go to the future." Rini said flatly. "And, save my mother."

"How will you do that?" Asked Serena. Rini pulled out her Time Key, and said,

"With my Time Key. It hasn't worked yet, but I'm sure that some way, I can get it to work!" She turned to the girls and Darien, who was them. "Why don't you all come to the future with me?" Rini asked. "I need help to save my mother."

Darien walked up to Rini. He put a hand on her shoulder, and said,

"Hey, we'll all go together."

Lita, Raye, Mina and Amy all agreed.

"Aren't you all a little too optimistic?" Luna asked.

"Do you realize how dangerous it'll be?" Artemis added. It made no difference. The girls had decided to go.

"Oh, thank you!" Rini said. She looked to the sky, and thought, Oh, mommy! Finally, I'm coming back! Oh, mommy, we're coming back to save you!
