ZUKI NO UCHI-WAZA
TRUSTING AND STRIKING TECHNIQUES

In order to attack, a finger has to step into the place as far as his fist and foot can reach, also he has to step away to the place where the opponent can't attack him.
This vital energy of offense and defense is called ASHI-SABAKI.
Tsuki is a straight punch method, which is equivalent to the one in boxing.

ZUKI ( THRUSTING ) :
There are somekinds of ZUKI such as :

1) CHOKU-ZUKI ( straight thrust )

2) HINERI-ZUKI ( twisting thrust )

3) HATO-ZUKI ( waving thrust ).

UCHI ( STRIKING ) :
While the attacking course of Tsuki is straight, the course of Uchi draws a circular arc :

1)YOKO-UCHI ( side striking ) is equal to the hook and swing in boxing.

2) AGE-UCHI is equal to an upper-cut in boxing.

3) SOTO-UCHI ( outer circle ) is the method of punch from inside to outside making outer circle based on elbow.

4) OROSHI-UCHI is equal to the punch with going down circle.
