Zeta Gundam was the third generation Mobile Suit that produced by
Anaheim Electronics Inc.. The production project named as the
Project Zeta. It used the mechanical concept from Kamille Bidan as
the basic design and combined all the advantages from
Rick-Dias,
Gundam Mark-II,
Hyaku-Shiki and
Methuss.
The main design based on Gundam Mark-II that stole from Titans in
Green Oases I and it produced with all the most updated technologies
from A.E.U.G.. Zeta Gundam contained the armor material from
Hyaku-Shiki, the transformation system from Methuss and the flying
armor that was used by Gundam MK-II. During the Project Zeta, two
transitional Mobile Suits, Hyaku-Shiki and Methuss, were produced as
the testing bases for Zeta Gundam.
After Zeta Gundam transformed to its M.A. mode, Wave Rider, it could
independently descend to atmosphere and maximize its speed. The only
M.S. that could descend to atmosphere without any extra equipment.
Since the complex transformation system and expensive cost, A.E.U.G.
only produced one Zeta Gundam. It also equipped with the mental control
system, Bio Sensor, that could enhance the maneuverability of the M.S..
'Zeta' is the sixth alphabetic character in Greek. Hence Zeta Gundam
was the sixth Gundam successfully produced by Anaheim Electronics Inc.
during the Project Zeta. The designs of some further transformable
Mobile Suits also referenced by Zeta Gundam, Zeta Plus and Re-GZ
(Refined Gundam Zeta) were both good examples.
