Gundam Mark-II was the prototype Mobile Suit that produced by Titans at Green Oases I to overthrow A.E.U.G. and it was the inherited M.S. of the original Gundam from the One Year War. The designer was Kamille's father, Franklin Bidan. It equipped with the new 360 degree full range screen and the movable frame system that could reduce the mechanical trouble and increase the maneuverability of the M.S.. However it abandoned the core block system that used by the original Gundam.

During the testing process of Gundam Mark-II, because it could not satisfy the demand from the army since the problem on armor materials, Titans stopped to research and only produced three Gundam Mark-II. They originally belonged to Titans and the original color were black as Titans uniform. After A.E.U.G.'s assault team stole them from Green Oases I, one of the Gundam Mark-II was used during the war, and the other two were disassembled for research. It was also repainted to the white color as the old Gundam and became the main force of A.E.U.G. during the battles.

At the battle of Jaburo, flying armor was used by Gundam Mark-II to descend to atmosphere. After that, it was approved by A.E.U.G. and successfully gained valuable data for Zeta Gundam as a testing base. Normally all Gundam type Mobile Suits had a pair of vulcan guns that mounted at the head as the standard weapon at the universal century but Gundam Mark-II was the only Gundam that equipped with the vulcan gun as the optional and removable weapon.
