TURKEY II

Istanbul is located at the same time in Europe and Asia. The strait of Bosphorus divides the city between these two continents and the Bosphorus Bridge (1973), the fourth longest in the world, links the European and Asian side.

A visit to Istanbul is not complete if one does not take a ferry cruise in the strait of Bosphorus, 32 km long, from 500m to 3 km wide. Well... we were tourists after all, so... The day we took the cruise of the Bosphorus was freeeeezing, but worth it every second. From the ferry, itfs possible to see some tourist sights on both the European and Asian shores. It was definitely one of the most interesting tours we had the chance to take in lovely Istanbul.

One of the favorite places we visited in Istanbul was the gKapali Carsih (built in the 15th century). The gGrand Bazaarh (in English) has around 4000 shops lining kilometers of streets where you can buy almost anything you look for, from Turkish carpets, old coins, jewelries, souvenirs, etc. to brand-named purses, wallets, watches.

People say that the Turks can even sell their own mothers in the Grand Bazaar if you offer them a good price! Hehe. In fact, everything you buy there is subjected to great bargainingc sometimes, the goodsf original offered price gets down to 40 or 50% less when you get to definitely paying it. Even if you donft go there for shopping, it is worth seeing it, because all the shops that surround the entire bazaar turn the place as a colorful beautiful scene.
