Madrid

Here are some photos from my trip to Madrid Friday, May 21 - Monday, May 24, 2004.

Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3

Day 3 - Monday May 24, 2004

Woke up early and went to the Centro de Arte Reina Sofia.  It's the big modern art museum in Madrid with Picasso and Dali among others.  It was really good.  But it took 3 hours to see the whole thing and my feet were killing me.  Afterwards I stopped by a churrascuria for some churros con chocolate and met an Indonesian girl.  It was refreshing to speak English with someone for a change.  After that I took a walk through the Parque del Retiro.  This is the huge park in Madrid that used to be part of the royal grounds.  It was really beautiful and I took a bunch of pictures.  There are a bunch of wild cats in Madrid and I found one lounging in the sun by the water in the park.  After this I went walking down the few more districts of Madrid that I hadn't seen yet, bought some bottles of wine to take home, and did some more shopping and tapas bar hopping.  After that I got a call from Mauricio and I went to help him finish up the work that needed to be done and we took a goodbye picture.
