Our first trip abroad together was in our honeymoon, in March/1997. As a newly married couple, we could have not chosen a better place to go: PARIS est simplement PARIS! Romantic and enchanting in all aspects! And, of course, go to Paris means that one must visit its most famous post card: "La Tour Eiffel".
The Eiffel Tower was constructed in 1889 and is 318 meters high. From the top of it, one can see the gChamp de Marsh, gJardins du Trocaderoh, the Seine River and so on. The visit to the gTour Eiffelh is an unique "fleur" and one must feel it to describe his own sensation of being there, looking above the "Cidade Luz".
Paris, spring/97
The gArc du Triompheh is Parisf second most famous landmark. Also called gPlace de lfEtoileh, it is the world's largest traffic roundabout and the meeting point of Parisf 12 most important avenues. It was commissioned in 1806 by Napoleon to commemorate his imperial victories but it was concluded only in the 1830s.
The gardens of the gPalais du Luxembourgh (built in the 1600s and nowadays the seat of the French Senate) are especially beautiful in spring. It was the place we chose to gtake our timeh, enjoy PARIS just like the gparisiensh do. That is: sit in front of the gardens, open a bottom of good french wine and enjoy it with a gbaguetteh and, of course, camembert cheese.
L'Arc du Triomphe et Le Palais du Luxembourg-Paris, spring/97
The most famous Parisf museum is the gLouvreh. It was constructed around 1200 as a fortress and rebuilt in the mid-16th century as a royal palace, becoming a public museum in 1793. It is ghumanlyh impossible to see all the gpreciosityh of the museum in two or three daysc it may take months to see it in its entirety. Undoubtedly, the gGiocondah (Leonardo da Vincifs Mona Lisa) is the Louvrefs most famous work. Outside the museum, there is a contrast between the goldh (the Louvre itself) and the modern: gLa Pyramid du Louvreh (completed in 1990), which is now, the museumfs entrance.

Versailles, just a few minutes by train from downtown Paris (23 km), is another place worth visiting in France. Le gChateau de Versaillesh, built in the mid-17th century during the reign of Luis XIV and where the gTreaty of Versaillesh was signed, is the city's most famous tourist attraction. The palace is huge and, as you get into it, you just gbreathh history. The most impressive places inside the gChateauh are the gGalerie des Glacesh (gHall of Mirrorsh) and the gAppartement de la Reineh (gQueenfs suiteh). The gardens that surround the gChateauh are also impressive.
