JAPAN I
Kyoto is the most famous tourist detination in Japan and the pictures below can tell why. The "Pavilhao de Ouro" (Kinkakuji), is one among dozens beautiful attractions of "charming" Kyoto. It was built around 1390 as a "resting spot" for the xogum Ashikaga Yoshimitsu.
The "Kinkakuji" has three floors and it's completely covered by gold! Well, its name says everything. It is gorgeuosly beautiful and on sunny days, the lagoon that surrounds the building reflects it in the water. That makes the "view" of the "Kinkakuji" even more magnific! We were lucky it was a shining day when we visited the "Pavilhao de Ouro"
The "Heian" is considered "new" if compared to the other shrines in Kyoto. It was built in 1895 (YES! NEW and constructed that year!), for the celebrations of the 1.100th birthday of Kyoto's foundation. It is a replic of the first Imperial Palace, built in Kyoto in the year of 794.
Also, people say that "if your favorite color is red" you will love this place. Well, in fact it is true! That gives an impression that the Heian Shrine is always "scintillating".
