1. Gyokusendo:
At five km.,
the cave is Japan’s second longest with 890m currently open to the public. The grandeur and beauty evolved over 300,000 years are here in "Asia’s Grand Hall", a giant underground room lined with countless stalagmites, the glittering sheen of the "Cup of Gold", and the curtain-line "Gathered Drapes".2. Tropical Orchards:
The wide expanse of the orchards boasts 450 tropical trees bearing over 100 fruits such as mango, papaya, and durian, the King of Fruits. Learn how different trees flower and bear fruit. Enjoy fresh fruits at its fruit shop, Cocopapaiya.
3. Ryukyu Glass Blowing & Pottery Kiln:
Watch masters blow the hot glass or potters shape the clay on their wheels. Before our eyes, molten glass is formed into beautiful shapes. Or enjoy the experience of creating your own pottery to be fired in the workshop kilns.
4. Traditional Crafts Village:
Walk through our scene of old Okinawa built by restoring houses over 100 years old. Inside the structures you will see textile looms at work and the Bingata dyeing process. Try our own hand in their workshop. Their Trade History Museum exhibits the cultural heritage garnered through trade.
5. Brewery of the South:
Habu extract, turmeric, ginseng root and several varieties of herbs are blended into awamori, Okinawa’s unique rice brandy. Enjoy Okinawa’s "health liquor" of your choice.
6. Traditional Performance Plaza:
Stiring Eisa Dances are presented daily in our Traditional Performance Plaza, located at the heart of Gyokusendo Kingdom Village. The fully equipped stage allows dance rehearsals by local youth groups, a variety of events, and is also a hub of local cultural performances.
7. Kingdom Village Shopping Center:
Find unusual souvenir and gifts at our Kingdom Village Shopping Center. We have reproduced Okinawa’s "Machigua", the shopping alleys in old towns. The center offer herbs, and traditional arts and crafts. Also available, designer brand perfumes, purses, and Southeast Asian folk crafts.
8. The Kingdom Village Restaurant:
Enjoy the tastes of Okinawan home cooking and Ryukyuan court dishes, with ingredients native to Okinawa. The restaurant seats over 1000 people – group or individual service as desired. Private rooms are also available.
9. Ryukyuan Trade Vessels Exhibit:
Once, the trading ships of the Kingdom of the Ryukyus plied the waters of the nations of Southeast Asia, China and Japan. The old Tribute Ships played a central role on the trading routes. A faithfully reconstructed Tribute Ship called the Nanbu-maru is open to the public.
10. The Habu Park:
In the Habu Park, learn all about Okinawa’s fearsome indigenous snake, the Habu. Watch the thrilling fight for survival between cobra and mongoose. Bring your camera for a portrait with our pet phyton.
