Sailormoon

Alternate Names: Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon

DIFFERENT SEASONS/SERIES
ONE WORD DESCRIPTION Shoujo
SUMMARY/RECOMMENDATION

If you haven't heard of this anime you must have been locked in a room for the last 10 years. Sailor Moon is about this 14 year old Junior High school girl who discovers that she is the beautiful sailor soldier of the Moon.

It's a humorous and positive anime, which explains the little cult behind it. However, the anime itself tends to be repetative, which (with SM Super S) is probably what killed it. I like Sailor Stars however and the movies are kinda cool too.

CHARACTERS

This series has tons of Sailor Soldiers and Enemies, too many to list here. Anyway, if you haven't heard of him/her its probably a spoiler and shouldn't be listed here.

OPENING AND ENDINGS

Two openings to first and second season. Only one opening for the S season. Two openings and two endings for SS but they are similar. One one opening for Stars, I think.

MERCHANDISE

I picked up a cool magazine in Japantown last Saturday! It's called Replicant and it's a magazine full of beautiful anime figurines. The particular magazine that I picked up had a lot of Eva figures (maybe I'll scan later) and this really, really beautiful Moon Princess figure. I also scanned up Cha-Cha because she's pretty cute too.

MUSIC/SOUNDTRACK

Many many CDS. I recommend the collection of vocal songs for about $120 which has pretty much all your favorite Sailor Moon songs.

My favorite in particular are the musical CDs (a chorus of women singing while wearing shiny Sailor soldier outfits? Who can resist?) Musical CD's Scans and Reviews

There should be tons of merchandise for this series. From CDs to Wall scrolls to clothing, they're out there. For CDs you should watch out for the Memorial Box collection (there are two, BGM and the other better one). There are also some 5-6 beautiful art books by Naoko out there.

There are tons of Sailor Moon websites, so if you go looking for SM links, try finding a page of just links that organizes them into categories for easy finding.

Knowledge on Anime: Seen all the TV episodes, most of the later episodes in Japanese and with Subtitles. I also read the Mixxzine translation of the manga and totally regret it's ugly transformation into Tokyopop. Tokyopop is devil spawn, they pirate Asian girls into the US and force them to pose on cars, don't support them!!!
