Tony Leung Ka-Fai was born in Hong Kong on February 1, 1958. After he graduated from college, he entered a training program for actors at the Hong Kong TVB acting school. He dropped out after 9 months because he needed to earn a living.
Leung met director Lee Hang-Shang, who was his girlfriend's father. Lee offered Leung the lead role in the movie "The Burning of the Imperial Palace." In 1984, he walked away with the 1st Hong Kong film award for Best Actor.
In 1993, he won Best Actor again for his portrayal in the movie "92 the Legendary LA Rose Noire".
He has acted in over 50 films since his debut in 1983. Among the most memorable are:

Not only can you "see" this star on film, you can "hear" him as well. Leung is also a popular HKpop singer. He joins the ranks of other actor/singer superstars such as: Jackie Chan, Anita Mui, and Andy Lau.
