Wasted!

" What?!" The whole Kainan basketball team reacted," why didn't you say so earlier, sensei?" Maki asked.

"er...hee hee.... I forgot," the coach replied.

"Aw, come on, let's go. It's only a practice match," Kiyota said, and started moving.

"Alright! To Shoyo High!"

Meanwhile, at Shoyo High School,

"Hey, Fujima, did you tell tem correctly? They are late!" Hanagata said and walking about as though trying to cool himself from the anger that he had.

"Yup, I told their coach... ... there! Here they are!" Fujima exclaimed.

" Konnichiwa! Sorry we are late!" The Kainan team apologised.

" Okay! Then let's begin," Fujima said, stealing glances at Maki, though Maki did not know about it. But Maki was wondering,'Why did Fujima want a practice match suddenly?'

Being the coach, Fujima did not want to enter the match except giving instructions. what's more, he would be able to see Maki play.

The game started and ended. It seemed to be so fast that Fujima felt that it was not enough, [though his team lost].

When the Kainan team was about to go, Fujima rushed to Maki, asking," Can I talk to you for a minute?" Maki turned around and looked at Fujima straight in the eyes. Fujima turned red immediately.

" Okay," Maki replied casually.

Maki had suggested they talk over dinner, thus they ended up in Mos Burger. Maki was hungry and ordered a lot of food while Fujima only ordered a regular ice-peach drink.

"What was it that you wanted to ask me?" Maki asked, trying to start a conversation.

" Actually, I wanted to ask you... ..." Fujima paused, not daring to say.

" ya?" Maki asked, but concentrating more on his burger.

" Why do you always win me in the matches?" Fujima broke out, shocked by what he himself had just said. ' What am I doing? I should be asking him if he like me?! Oh god, what am I doing here?' Questions popped in and out of Fujima's mind.

" Huh?" Maki was blurred. Luckily for Fujima, Maki was not listening to Fujima.

"Ah, nothing. Take it as I did not ask you anything," Fujima quickly replied.

Then the both of them talked about basketball, NBA and other stuff.... ...

It was about eight when they finished dinner. Maki needed to go home early as he lived very far away from where Shoyo High was.

After he was gone, Fujima wandered on the streets, regretting that he did not tell Maki about his feelings and there would neverbe a chance like this again.

' Just take this as a crush and has ended!' Fujima thought, and he felt a pain in his heart, 'or maybe not!' and started walking home... ...
