CHAPTER #04 : THOUGHT.
( The next day in school. )
" RUKAWA KAEDE! Here's something someone BEGGED me to pass to you. " said Kotori. "And he had words for me to tell you....."
Rukawa was shocked by Kotori's sudden approach.
" Tonight. Meet me at my place." Kotori said, imitating Sendoh's voice. Then she turned and walked away.
All the classmates of Rukawa thought that Kotori had a crush on Rukawa. And that became the topic of the day in Shohoku High. And chatters about the both of them had finally reached the ears of Mitsui.
During the basketball practice, Rukawa could not concentrate on the practice. Inside his mind, he was think of what Sendoh was going to tell him and stuffs like that. And this aroused Mitsui's curiosity. He wondered what could be the cause of Rukawa's lack of concentration. He wanted to approach Rukawa after the practice to reprimand or discuss this matter with him.
However, right after the practice, Rukawa had disappeared from the school. This made Mitsui even more curious about Rukawa's weird behavior as he would usually stay back to practice even training had ended. As Mitsui left the locker and return to the court to continue some shooting, he was amazed to find Kotori there, alone, practicing!
As no one other then Rukawa and himself would stay back after training, he was shocked to see someone as enthusiastic as them to stay back. But the real reason why Kotori stayed back was, she does not want to be the gooseberry of Sendoh and Rukawa back at home.
" Kotori! Don't you have a date with Rukawa?He had left already, so why are you still here?" Mitsui asked.
Kotori looked at Mitsui with no idea what he was asking. " I was just merely helping someone to pass a message to Rukawa. Moreover, it isn't my house anyway." she replied.
" What the hack is happening .... ?" Mitsui asked.
" What are you? A MAN who loves old wives tales?" Kotori rebutted so quickly that she didn't give Mitsui a chance to finish his question.
" You...you..."
" Me ... me... what? Oh come on! Grow up kid! How about us playing 1 on 1? Loser treat for dinner!" finished saying, Kotori snatched the ball and scored.
