CHAPTER #08 : Just ... ...
Just when Rukawa was about to tell Mitsui the real relationship between Sendoh and Kotori, Sakuragi came in. After a look at Rukawa, he said," Sendoh's here. He looked pretty worried..... ..." Before he could finish, Rukawa dashed out of the changing room.
Standing there in the dark musty, dusty changing room, thinking to him self ;Why? why? why????? Why must it be me? Why must it be that when every time I fell in love with something, there is sure something there to stop me? Why? (Note: That time when Mitsui was at the peak of this basketball career, he suffered knee problem. Thus he had been out of touch of basketball for a period of 2 years.)Oh come on Mitsui! Pull yourself back together like the beginning of summer this year. Forget that wretch.From far he hear Sakuragi whispering," Need my help? Hee hee. You still can't beat my record."(Note: At the beginning of the entire series, Sakuragi had fallen out of love for 51 times!)
(In the Basketball court.)
Rukawa was indeed very delighted to see Sendoh here. Thinking that Sendoh was here to look for him though he had told him not to do so. He rushed towards Sendoh to greet him. The actual fact was that Sendoh lost Kotori on the way home.
"Rukawa, did you see Kotori?" Sendoh asked.
"NO. She didn't even come for the basketball practice. Why?" Rukawa replied with his usual cool.
"Oh dear! Where could she had been? I just asked her to wait for me at the school gate as I need to go to the gents. When I returned, she was GONE!" said the worried Sendoh.
Just then Mitsui came out of the changing room. Upon seeing the entire team gathered around Sendoh and Rukawa instead of practicing, he shouted at them to disperse to crowd and shoved them to do warm up. Then Sendoh looked up and upon seeing Mitsui, he rushed towards him.
"Where did you kidnapped Kotori to? Huh? Where?" grabbing Mitsui's jersey, losing his usual cool, Sendoh asked.
"How I know? Kotori left with you. She didn't even come for practice. Even she did, how would I know?" Mitsui trying to remain clam and ignoring whatever thing associated with Kotori.
"How you know? How you know? Is that all you are taught to say? Of course you know!" Shouted Sendoh who was getting very worked up. He totally forgotten Rukawa's presence.
Then he was silenced for a moment.
"Do you know how DEAR Kotori is to me?" said Sendoh. His tone suddenly changed. It became very soft and weak. Like a husband who just lost his wife speaking to the police officer.
