Telugu Sandadi-'99

Telugu Sandadi-'99 was celebrated on May 15th, 1999, by the Kanto Telugu community with great fervour
and enthusiasm. All our friends gathered at the venue early on. The programme
began with 'Maa Telugu Talli Ki' Praardhana. The innovative compereing by two of our friends
in the traditional 'getup' was very enjoyable and kept the audience in a hilarious mood throughout.
The 'Aasirvachanam' by our visiting guest followed by the 'kavisammelanam' reminded everyone of our Telugu culture.
The children too played an active role in the cultural events. The dance performance they gave for the Annamacharya Kirtana- "Kolanidopariki" was one of the excellent performances of the day. It showed the commitment the children , their parents and the elders who trained them, have for maintaining our tradition and culture. There was a 'Piano' recital, and 'Story telling'-- All rendered by children. The highlight of the day was the comedy skit- 'O Cheekati Rathri' written by Jandhyala. It was greatly applauded by all, and it had kept everyone laughing for a full 40 minutes. Special Thanks to all the participants of the skit for their efforts in bringing out a wonderful programme for the day which was accompanied by Music, giving it the special effects it needed.! Congratulations and Thanks to all the artists for their efforts and enthusiasm. The last item was the quiz which was well compiled and which gave an opportunity to everyone present there for participating actively in the programme. The function ended with the singing of the Indian National Anthem by all. Kudos to all the organizers, volunteers and participants for making the Telugu Sandadi-'99 a memorable day!!! |
