'Bahudhaanyanaama Samvatsara Ugadi', 1998 Telugu New year was celebrated by the Kanto Telugu community with great enthusiasm. Traditional 'Ugadi pachadi' was served in the beginning. The function started off with the song 'Maa Telugu Thalli ki' which was followed by 'Kavi Sammelanam'(recital of own poems) for the first time in Tokyo. After Lunch a comedy skit 'Paramaanandayya Shishyulu' was rendered by the children. It was well enacted and everyone enjoyed it. The comedy skit 'Neeku Rendu Naaku muudu' written by Nanduri Subbarao was the next highlight, which was well done and applauded by one and all. A telugu quiz was conducted followed by a dance performance, which everyone enjoyed. The function ended with the Indian National Anthem. Kudos to all the members who participated in the cultural events!!
