Story One
Believe it or not, at our Fillmore lounge show, we ran into Rivers Cuomo, lead singer and guitarist for
Weezer. Actually, I almost literally ran into him, if I hadn't seen him blocking my way after I went to
get my guitar from the back room after the whole show ended.
My friends Fang, Val, and Lilei were with me. Lilei was the only one who did not recognize who he was,
even though she had been staring at him for the last hour when Weezer was performing. She regrets
not mentioning that she goes to Dartmouth and perhaps he can visit her sometime. Instead, she
responded to his question of "who's in the band?" with "not me. I'm just the helper, the elf". It didn't
help that she was wearing a green jacket.
A pregnant lady who was going to name her child Chloe, asked us some obscene questions such as
"would you have sex with Rivers Cuomo?"
Not so much obscene as it was degrading. Here we are trying
to talk about our band, college courses, high school cover songs, and this lady interrupts us. After
dutifully backing out of the question, Rivers asks "Well, would you kiss me?"
Another confused look
passed each of our faces, not knowing whether he meant "right now" or hypothetically speaking.
Rivers, the answer is yes.
I'm sorry my mind was not working properly that night.
But yes, hypothetically, of course.
