    HIKARU UTADA's first Album [First Love]!!!
  • Sixteen-year-old pop sensation Hikaru Utada has broken Japan's album-sales record with her debut album "First Love," selling 5.24 million copies, according to a research company's tally released on Tuesday. The album, released on March 10, has eclipsed the 5.11 million sales of rock group B'z's 1998 album "B'z the Best 'Pleasure,'" Oricon Co.'s tally showed. Utada, born and raised in New York and the daughter of singer Keiko Fuji, is also the most successful artist in term of debut and original album sales in Japan, beating the previous records both yielded by rock group Globe.
    In December, Utada made her professional debut in Japan with the release of the single CD "Automatic," which has sold more than 2 million copies. Advance orders for her first album topped the 2 million mark.[Data Source: Mainichi Daily News, May 5, 1999]

I decided to put up some info about SORIMACHI (he used to be in Johnny's group~smap,V6, Kinki kids, Tokio's boss~before he became independent! His 1st album came out last Oct called Message and his 2nd album is called "High Life" that was release on Sept. 18th~however in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong this album will be released on Sept. 30.Sorimachi ses~"I want to visit Taiwan and Hong Kong to meet my fans"

    Title: GTO
    Starring: TAKASHI SORIMACHI (24) and NANAKO MATSUSHIMA (24)
    First episode: due on July 7th(every tuesday at 10:00pm)
    Storyline: Sorimachi acts as a high-school teacher who has been a nasty "furyo" boy. Based on a cartoon from weekly magazine -Shukan Shoene Magazine.

    TITLE: OVER TIME (9:00~10:00-monday-on Jan 4th)
    starring: Takeshi Sorimachi, Makiko Esumi, Yoshino KJimura, Haruhiko Kato
    storyline: a love story of a camera man Soichi Kaede (Sorimachi) and hair dress Natsuki Kasahara (Makiko Esumi). After Soichi and Natsuki met for the first time at a hotel of Hokkaido, they met again in Tokyo by accident and their love story begins.

  • DEC. 17 98: Since Early nover, Malice Mizer's Vocalist GACKT has "broken away" from the band. Other MM memebers haven't seen the vocalist and has lost contact with him. Because Gackt disappeared, Radio station BayFM is going to close its program of the visual rock group. It is also rumored that the reason Gackt disappear is becuase of the friction between him and other members.
  • JAN 20: Gackt, a member of popular visual rock band Malice Mizer, left the music band, Gackt's talent agency said officially on January 19.The talent agency added, "What Gackt wants to do is different from what Malice Mizer is doing now. Malice Mizer will welcome another vocalist," and stated with anger, "As for Gackt, as he is still a rocker making a business contract with our agency, he can't release a CD as a musician of another agency. If he releases something from another agency, we will accuse him of an illegal contract."

    July 3rd 1998: Tabloid magazine Friday issue ran an article about ELT's vocalist Kaori Mochida (20) and L'Arc-en-Ciel rocker Tetsu (28) having a good time together (info from Ken chen. On July 2nd, talent agencies of both singers admitted it offically and added that they don't want to interfere with their private lives.
