Another one of my favourites is Dragonball Z. It's one of the best Japanese animation created. And this wonderful seris was created by the talented Akira Toriyama.

brief summary, story that began it all...
The story begins with a 11 year old boy named Son Goku who strangely meets a young girl named Bulma who tells him about her search of 7 mystical items called Dragonballs. They are 7 crystal-like spheres which has a great energy of power when summoned together. She tells Goku that whoever gets all 7 Dragonballs together, he/she who possesses the Dragonballs may make a single wish to the Eternal Dragon named Sheng Long. This dragon has the power to grant a wish to the person that holds the 7 balls.
After the wish is made Sheng Long disappears, the dragonballs rises in the air and splits up throughout the world and turns into stone for a year. Goku who was keen for adventure decided to help Buruma find these dragonballs. And so began a long journey in search for the 7 crystal-like mystical, Dragonballs.
On the way they make friends as well as enemies. Goku learns special techniques in order to defend his enemies and also to make him a stronger person. Master Roshi is one of the people that help Goku and Bulma.
The enemies such as Shao, Emperor Pilaf and Mai are also looking for these dragonballs so they can rule the world.
