Before you post anything about Shampoo, especially in response to a bash attack, make sure, make damn well bloody sure that what you are posting 1.) makes sense 2.) is well thought out, and 3.) doesn't attack any other character.
People on the ML and the Ranma fanship in general have a low opinion of Shampoo fans. The WoS in particular has strived for, and in no small part achieved, some modicum of respect as "enlightened" Shampoo fans on the Ranma 1/2 ML. We police our own. I've personally shot down other Shampoo fans on the ML and the net for playing right into the hands of the stereotyping done by many Akane and Ukyou fans who hold the ideal that all Shampoo fans are the type that write in "SHAMPOO RULZ! AKANE SUX!" I've seen that exact kind of remark too many times to think that they are simply making it up. Some Shampoo fans are like that.
If you are going to be like that, or want to be like that, we don't want you in the WoS.
The WoS has achieved respect, and I work and strive to the utmost to keep that respect, to make sure that it is well deserved. If you can't help UKYO2RANMA and I in this quest, then we, frankly, don't want you.
But, if you aren't this sort, and I sincerely hope you aren't, then we would happily welcome you into the Worshippers of Shampoo, the elder and still premier Shampoo fan-faction on the Ranma 1/2 Mailing List.
So, the rules are as follows.
1.) When you post about Shampoo, post intelligently.
2.) DO NOT respond to any Shampoo-bashing with a character attack.
Personal attacks, or flames, are fine, but not character attacks. I have a very low view of this, which is why I defend Shampoo like I do.
3.) The WoS does not sponsor Role Playing.
There is no WoS central compound, we don't have special uniforms, and we don't carry any sort of weapons to deal with RP.
If you want to RP, fine. But remember that the WoS does not sponsor such an act, and please leave the WoS out of any RP you do.
4.) The WoS is a group of intelligensia. We engage primarily in debate on Shampoo.
Your personal opinions are fine, and I'm not telling you that you may not post on other topics. Post all you like on whatever you like, as I do. However, when a Shampoo topic comes up, remember that you act with the respect and dignity of the WoS when replying. If you do join, I would recommend that when a Shampoo debate arises, that you let U2R and myself handle it the first time so that you can get a feel for how we do it. After that, hey, you are WoS, your faction is respected, and feel free to slam those disbelieving troglydytes against the wall.
As much as I hope it will never happen, I will remove people from the lists of the WoS if they act in a fashion that can reflect poorly upon the institution. There will be few warnings and no second chances. You will be removed, and I will make a statement on the ML to that effect. To date, we have had no problems with this, and I sincerely hope that we never do. However, the punishment stands for those who commit the crime.
