Zentraedi Power Armors Back to Regults

Personal Body Suit (Nousjaedul-Ger)

Length 8.4 m
Width 11.8m
Height 15.5 m
Weight 15 metric ton
Speed 750 kph (flying), 65 kph (running)
Designed specifically for planetary combat, the PBS is smaller and lighter than the Regult battlepod, with better armor protection and enhanced atmospheric maneuverability. Contrary to the Regult, it can easily fly through dense atmosphere at significant speeds; the slimmer profile also gives the PBS an advantage in using terrain for protection and concealment.

However, due to the increased propulsion energy needs, the Nousjaedul-Ger powerplant can support only one particle beam cannon, which is mounted on the mecha's shoulder. Additional firepower is provided by a 79.2mm (looks at least ten times bigger than that to me) chest-installed impact cannon (which requires little energy to operate, being a projectile weapon), and a hand-held version of the Regult standart AA laser with internal power supply. The mecha manipulators design, similar to a human/Zentraedi hand and to Veritech manipulators, probably allows using standart Zentraedi/Veritech rifles.

Special ground assault teams, the Cavalry, were equipped with Nousjaedul-Gers, but in reality most of the fighting both in space and on surface was done by Regults. In Robotech Nosjaedul-Gers appear mostly in only one episode - "Khyron's Revenge".

Quadranos in battle

Tactical Power Armor (Queadlunn-Rau)

Length : 10.8 m
Width : 18.4 m
Height : 16.8 m, 15.9 m (without antenna)
Weight : 32.5 metric ton
Speed 1160 kph (at 12000 m)

176 kph (running)

The Queadlunn-Rau is a heavier version of the Nosjaedul-Ger power armor, with significantely more powerful propulsion system to allow rapid aerospace maneuvers (something the Nosjaedul-Ger, having been designed as a ground assault/limited air support mecha, lacked severely). It also boasts heavier armor than even the Glaug officer pod, making it the most survivable Zentraedi mecha.

The Queadlunn-Rau is armed with a multitude of weapons. Since engines drew so much power, energy armament was limited to 6 (3 on each arm) small pulse lasers, similar to the Regult battlepod's AA lasers. The Nosjaedul-Ger's chest-installed impact cannon is doubled on the Queadlunn-Rau (these cannons bear some symbolic hint to the masculine and feminine nature of these two mecha, sometimes called the Male and Female power armors, respectively). The main bulk of the TPA's firepower is composed of 4 circular missile launchers, each bearing 21 skirmish ground/air missiles. 2 launchers are situated in the mecha "hips", and 2 (with 1 reload) - in the thruster backpack. This gives the TPA a total payload of 126 guided missiles, usually fired in salvos of a dozen or more to ensure destruction of a fast, maneuverable, heavily armored mecha under effect of hostile electonic counter-measures.

The TPA was intended as a substitute for Nosjaedul-Gers and possibly even Regults, but by the time of the Human-Zentraedi contact their production was just beginning, and Queadlunn-Raus were issued only to the most skilled, experienced and responsible units - these mainly being the Meltrandi, such as Miriya's Quadrano squadron (again provoking the nickname "female power armor").

Officer Power Armor

The latest Zentraedi mecha design, it is, like Queadlunn-Rau, a refitted version of the Nousjaedul-Ger. The Officer power armor traded the chest-mounted impact cannon for additional layers of armour and electronic equipment. To compensate the loss of firepower, a more powerful hand-held weapon was provided, along with upgrading the shoulder cannon.

Propulsion system was close to that of the Queadlunn-Rau, allowing the mecha to perform well both in outer space and in planetary atmosphere. Additional armour probably allowed rapid descent/ascent through dense atmosphere, resulting in an effective transorbital all-purpose fighting craft.

The Officer power armor was part of the Zentraedi forces upgrade program; it was supposed to substitute Glaugs, like Nousjaedul-Ger was a future substitute for Regults, and Queadlunn-Rau - for Regults/tri-thrusters. However, like both other power armors, the OPA never made it to the front ranks. The small number of them, which has been manufactured by the time of the human/zentraedi conflict, was assigned to the Zentraedi High Command Reserve and awarded to Dolza's most trusted officers. Apparently none of them survived the Battle of Rain, therefore little is known about the exact characteristics of this mecha.
