Light Artillery Pod (Regult, light artillery) - standart Regult chassis with anti-aircraft lasers exchanged for a multi-launch medium-range rocket system. Available munitions include guided missiles and unguided area-effect rockets. Being significantly slower than the battlepod, the artillery pod avoids dogfights and relies on massive long-range firepower. It is ideal against clustered and entrenched enemy units. If fitted with guided missiles, the artillery pod boasts almost as much anti-mecha firepower as a Queadlunn-Rau power armour, becoming a deadly foe for Veritech squandrons. A squad of light artillery pods was assigned to each mechanized infantry company.

Heavy Artillery Pod (Regult, heavy artillery) - an upgunned version of the artillery pod; its launching tubes house four long-range missiles, available in area-effect and armor-piercing versions. The slowest of all Regults, this mecha packs a formidable punch; its Molokh missiles can tear a hole even in capital ship armor. However, the pod's sensor system is inadequate for long-range precision guidance; it must work in conjunction with a more powerful radar for maximum performance. Mechanized infantry battalions were issued squads of heavy artillery pods. |

Recon Scout Pod (Regult, tactical scout) - standart Regult chassis stripped of all weapons and stuffed with sensor equipment. Scouts are the eyes and ears of mechanized infantry; they locate the enemy, suppress hostile electronic activity, and help guide long-range ordnance. A scout was usually assigned to every company.

Officer pod (Glaug) - a heavily armed and armored ground-space mecha designed to be piloted by field
commanders. The Glaug's weapons include 2 particle cannons and 2 impact autocannons merged
into "arms" for higher flexibility and faster targeting, as well as melee
combat; 2 anti-personnel autocannons, such as those found on Regults; and a heavy
long-range particle beam cannon, a very powerful weapon, whose slow recharge rate is
offset by a three-shot-surplus cyclotron. It has been heard that the Glaug also has six
small dogfight missiles, however they're never seen in the series. Glaug's propulsion system is capable of delivering speed and maneuverability equal to those of the Regult battlepod, despite the officer pod's extra weight. To allow transorbital maneuvers, such as rapid descent through dense atmosphere, the Glaug can be fitted with an armored booster, which is equipped with 144 dogfight missiles. Glaugs were issued to officers ranking from battalion commander and higher, for command&control immediately on the battlefield. Khyron is often seen in his officer pod leading mecha assaults, although fleet commanders usually prefer to stay out of dogfights, like Breetai and Azonia. This is easily explained by a simple speculation - the older the more careful. As Zentraedi grow older and gain experience, their appreciation of the War Imperative changes - from a lust for melees to cold-hearted strategy. The value of one's own life also grows with time - Khyron wouldn't've been at the front lines if he was piloting a humble Regult. Robotech Masters understood this simple pattern, and provided the Glaug with much heavier armor than standart Regults'. We never see an officer pod being destroyed in the entire series, and Khyron's Glaug was severely damaged only once - under conditions including an overwhelming enemy, protoculture shortage, and being piloted by Azonia, who was probably much more used to the Queadlunn-Rau. |
