From the steamy jungles of the Amazon he came, this bestial mutant with
strange powers of electricity and incredible combat expertise. No one knows
where Blanka learned his Capoeira, but many say that he is self-trained,and
that his electrical powers were taught him by electric eels. Sound outrageous?
Perhaps. But who truly knows the secrets of the deep jungles? Perhaps Blanka
knows...
This art was developed by Brazilian slaves. Forbidden to learn fighting,
the slaves hid their practicing in their dancing. Thus, Capoeira ressembles
a mad, festive dance with many leaps and spins.
Capoeira has very few organized schools. Some village in South America
teach the fundamental dance moves to children as part of formal schooling,
but these lessos often lack the fighting skills inherent to the dance.
The style's popularity has recently begun to grow but it is still very
difficult to find a teacher outside South America. A student who wishes
to become a true Capoeira warrior must seek out a master of Capoeira. Good Capoeira stylist learn throught informal study directly under a master.
Even so, it is difficult to find a single Capoeira master who knows all of
the style's acrobatic movements and special attacks.
Blanka wears noting but ripped jeans and the anklets he's had since he was
young (now stretched to fit around his ankles). He wears his wild, orange hair
in one long mane.
