Why I Like Rei Ayanami


I'm on my way to school! See you soon! As ya'll should be able to figure out, Rei Ayanami is my favorite character from Neongenesis Evangelion! There are several reasons behind this:

1. Rei is softspoken. She hides a very secret pain... a lot worse than we thought (Genesis 0:12, which shows all the clones of Rei, waiting to be activated when the current one dies.) As a clone of Yui Ikari, Rei is most likely retaining her anguish from dying, along with confused love for Dr. Gendo Ikari. Rei's voice covers her sadness and her confusion, but nonetheless, it is quite haunting.

2. Rei has cute, short hair This may sound frivolous and so forth, but my wife's hairstyle is similar to Rei's. As a matter of fact, some of her demeanor is similar to Rei's too... but unlike Rei, Julie (my ching-ai da) smiles a lot and goofs around. Rei is more morose.

3. Rei has presence Despite Asuka's calling her "wondergirl" and crap, Rei has proven to be quite strong and even when she says nothing, you feel when she is in the room. This should be even more apparent now that she has merged with Lilith (Adam's first wife/Non-Bible and not the first Angel).

Well, I could go on, but after all, Rei is a cartoon character, and I am not like the nut that wrote a letter to Akklaim Comics Troublemakers who asked for a date with the main character in the book! Hello! This is fiction! I just happen to like her character, that's all!
